I really disagree with "Modern Minecraft is bad" stigma that's currently going around. Charm of Minecraft is still there, I do understand that at some point it gotten overwhelming with options on how to build dirt huts, but isn't building the main point of Minecraft? Yes, some recent additions are falling flat hard (Sniffer, Archeology, upcoming Pale Garden feels like wasted potential) - but I really feel like some others really nail on what made Beta so unique (Deep Dark with its helpless mood once again putting you as a prey, Trial Chambers reminding me of how formidable Dungeons were, New Terrain Generation finally cleaning up the awful mess of a world generation Beta 1.8 had). I always try to look from all perspectives on various subjects, and here - as someone who played the game since Beta 1.3 - I just cannot agree with current Minecraft being bad. I do agree that the charm of days old gone was long extinguished, even before Notch left Mojang. I'd say the vibe was just replaced with this overly lively atmosphere surrounding the game. In the end, I understand where people are coming from - I feel the same way about Terraria at the moment haha.
The funny thing about defending the Grouch rebalance videos from the community reactions is that Grouch ended up embracing the memes and shrugged it off.. so the only person I've seen offended for/defending Grouch is not Grouch himself. What a joke man.
With minecraft u can always reroll updates, and play on w/e version u want. So crying over "there's too much" is a joke. Just reroll updates to w/e version suits you. I'm a builder, and I like having more blocks to play with. It's like lego. You should know it.
