@@GuitarME I am blown away!! You are the 1st lesson giver to actually read and respond to my comments!! I also am working on playing another one of your lessons!! I am 68 and trying hard, gotta keep trucking on! Thank-you for giving us your time! Cheers😎!!
I really enjoy everything I see you do Tony. You inspire me to learn new things on the guitar. It all helps me with my song writing. Been writing songs off and on since the 60s. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's incredibly inspiring to hear that my guitar lessons have had a positive impact on you. I really appreciate that! It's great to be a part of your guitar journey. Have a wonderful day as well, Amigo! 🤗
My holy grail guitar is my 1997 Collings OM3. Balanced across the tonal range. My guitar has Collings “Vintage” neck, allowing for wider string spacing advantageous for finger style , but exceptional for both flat picked rhythm and single string playing. At the time I was playing solo finger style shows and playing in acoustic bands and backing up artists in the studio. Neither my ‘72 D28 nor my small bodied classical style steel string could cover all that range. You’ll never find a bad Collings, but you will run across a Martin clunker every now and then. Collings are still made right here in Austin, Texas.
Great lick. Thanks! I have several Taylor's and love them all. The 214ce K DLX has Koa back and sides, but this one also has a spruce top. The combination of wood together sounds amazing, and it's very comfortable to play. If you want to go higher end, try the Taylor K24ce all Koa. Great feel and sound with beauty to match. But I think any Taylor is a truly great guitar.
I have found lately that I like Eastman guitars, I bought 2 of them recently.....one I got from" The Acoustic Shoppe" ..I learn quite a lot from your lessons, thanks for sharing.... Peace
That's awesome! Fantastic choice man! And I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the lessons and finding them helpful. Thanks for your support, and peace to you as well! 😊
I appreciate these fairly simple but rich sounding lessons. Can you do something similar with Scottish music - Scottish ‘sounding’ stuff, if not actual pub songs?
Great lessons sir. Taylor 414ce is a good one. I also have a Gibson Miranda Lambert custom shop bluebird (a hummingbird basically) I love it. I go to it more so than the Taylor. Gallagher guitars are awesome as well, that's my next one.
Excellent video Tony!! I’ve been playing a seagull M6 limited edition. Not outrageously priced and all solid wood.. ruby red stain w a white pick guard it’s dynamite
I own a Larrivee om 40 r. Best guitar ive ever played, and ive played martins, taylors, alvarez, and american made guilds. Try one!! Every Larrivee is top shelf quality!!!
I recommend you get an Emerald X30 for your next guitar. Beats the sound of a Martin D28 (I sold my D28 after getting my X30, because the D28 felt uncomfortable and sounded like a dime store guitar after playing my X30). The X30 is beautiful, versatile, withstands all weather and sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard please go watch a few Emerald X30 videos and if you want to buy one, please let me know and I’ll give you my Ambassador code for money off on your purchase. I love mine!!! I now have four Emeralds and that’s why I became an Ambassador-because they are amazing!!
That's awesome! Having four Emerald guitars definitely speaks volumes. I'll definitely check out some videos. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm! I appreciate that, my friend! 🙌🏻🤗
Your comment reminded me of the time I pawned my. Yamaha acoustic back in 1977. He gave me a measly £20 for it. It was My first guitar and I couldn't play more than four chords but thought I would sound like Cat Stevens, James Taylor or Neil Young in no time! LOL. And the reason I pawned it? To get money so I could ask a girl to go to a concert with me. She went with her sister instead and I ended up buying drinks for my mate and myself and No guitar to show for it. Heady days 😂 🎸
Depends on how much money you want to spend obviously however I have heard that Yamaha Red has a great sound. I just have the same hangup everyone else has, I love my brands. If budget isn't a thing Collin's guitars have top notch craftsmanship.
Get a TAYLOR guitar!!! With a Capital T. It practically plays itself, Stays in Tune and is Heavenly sounding. Meanwhile can you teach some basics in Open D? Riffs and up the fretboard tricks? Thank You for taking the mystery outta music. Cheers
I love your playing. But, im 66. Ive been playing since i was 15. For my tastes. I prefer when teachers play the groove , some of it anyway. Then break it down. Give me the big picture first please. Other than that its a great lesson. Thank you!
Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your preference! I'll keep your suggestion in mind. I appreciate your perspective and it's great to hear you've been playing for so long. 🤗 I'm very glad you found the lesson valuable overall 🎸
Buy anything except a Gibson Custom Shop Nick Lucas Koa Elite. The extra body width leaves a huge weak spot where your arm rest that easily allows it to crack where your picking hand/arm rests. THEN, they blame it on YOU and say “you must have dropped it in its case”. I’ll never buy another Gibson guitar due to their “LIFETIME WARRANTY” being TOTAL BS. My case kept, pristine, well humidified (stated by them) rarely played (1 of 50) CUSTOM SHOP sprouted an 8-10 inch upper bout crack while in its case. I’ve bought Custom Shop Gibsons and regular Production models for 55 of my 70 years and will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy another new Gibson. They do NOT back their products NOR value their loyal customers in the least. Wanna buy mine once it’s repaired and I’m forced to pay nearly $900.00 for a repair THEY should be covering for poor design and materials? It’s the Koa side that cracked. THEN they say, “it will still be noticeable”!?!? I’ll give you a good deal. Also have several of their Custom Shop electrics I’m dumping due to their “Lifetime Warranty” bullshit. All in collector grade, several unplayed, condition. They’ve become a total embarrassment in the way they treat their customers and their implied warranty coverage. Hit me up! Unplayed Frank Zappa Roxy (2013) coming up soon if interested in a sweet electric. I’m afraid to open the case after 11 years. May be just a pile of sawdust. All were purchased as heirlooms for my 2 children but figure the cash will be a better option for them so THEY won’t ever have to deal with a crooked company down the road. LOVE your channel, by the way. Hate having to vent on it, though. Fender Custom Shop I’ll stick with. I have a 2017 Martin D-45, purchased new, that’s THE sweetest sounding acoustic I’ve played in my entire life. I don’t know how they get such a beautiful sound out of wood.

Great lick. I learned this from you last year and played it for my brother (who looked at me like I was Jimi Hendrix reborn). : )
My go to acoustic is a Seagull S6. Made in Canada. Sounds amazing and I’m supporting a great Canadian business 😎🇨🇦🎸
Thanks for sharing this, I am not a great guitarist and I found this very helpful to learn and help me to progress!
You're very welcome! Glad the lesson was helpful! Cheers! 🤗

My go to is an 1977 Alvarez.
Hi Tony, can you please help me with some blues licks?
You're a Martin guy... Try a 000-15 .. I have owned many acoustic guitars at all $ levels ... Love my 000-15 ... older ones come with a hard case...
👍👍
My new guitar is a Lowden it’s brilliant. Made in Ireland, not mass produced.
That's awesome! It's great to hear you're enjoying such a finely crafted instrument. Cheers! 🎸

Hard to beat the mid range Yamahas for quality and value. (I'm poor😂)
