      @Goosiest I would really encourage you to go for the R9 even if you just skip a pedal upgrade for now and keep using the thrustmaster pedals with a Leo Bodner adapter cable or something because you will be able to swap out wheels for deep dish style and such much easier with the standard D1 spec quickrelease....its really not a ton more money I think its worth saving for. The Pedals that come with the R5 might not feel very good or much of an upgrade so if I were you I would get an adapter for your existing pedals and just go for the better wheelbase.

    IMO u should have full 100% FFB in wheel settings and adjust it ingame. Changing it in wheel settings, changes FFB dynamic range but in the meantime adjusting it in game, changes resistance and game can still give details for ex. road noise through available motor power.
    It's like adjusting car acceleration with intake restrictor vs adjusting it by throttle input ;p

    Settings are very important with Moza bases.
    Make sure all damping is set to 0, and use around 15-20 wheel friction (no more than 20). Also use 200% max wheel speed and mess with the road sensitivity to adjust how snappy the motor is.
    You also want to set "Soft limit stiffness" between the 8-10 range, otherwise you'll have a hard time feeling the end of the steering rack.
    Also, keep the "Game FFB intensity at 80 or 90% and reduce the torque using the "Maximum torque output". Reducing FFB intensity also slows the response of the motor for some reason.

    • @barlostx
      @barlostx ปีที่แล้ว

      now are these settings for easy drifting or for realistic feel ??

    • @nb8c_fd
      @nb8c_fd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barlostx There's no such thing as settings for easy drifting.
      The easiest settings are the most realistic settings. If you change anything, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage.

    • @barlostx
      @barlostx ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nb8c_fd oh ok . I just upgraded from g920 to 300rsGt , and i’m already thinking about upgrading again to moza r9 … i’m going for realism because i am gonna start drifting IRL…I’ve gotten decently good at drifting , using DWG Pack on Assetto.

    • @nb8c_fd
      @nb8c_fd ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@barlostx Yeah the T300 isn't much of an upgrade over a G920. The R9 is great for drifting, as it can rotate really quickly. You just have to make sure you use good settings because there are A LOT of absolutely awful profiles on the internet.
      Don't listen to anyone in the Moza discord or subreddit, no one knows what they're talking about. They all add loads of damping effects to the FFB, which kills the motor response and detail. Just mess with all the settings and figure out which ones you like.
      A few rules of thumb: Don't use any form of damping when drifting, and use 5% maximum when racing. Don't use speed dependent damping at all. Use 15% friction when drifting, and 30-40 when racing. Keep road detail at about 7 at all times.

    Still looking like a natural on brand new setup. Is there anything about DD that makes it more intuitive or easier to respond to compared to the thrustmaster?

    • @itranscendencei7964
      @itranscendencei7964 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The main advantage to a DD for drifting is the speed at which it will self steer. Gear Drive, and Belt Drive bases can need a bit of help to get the counter rotation started in certain situations. Direct Drive can immediately start to self steer when it's supposed to, with the right settings.

    • @CToretto
      @CToretto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First thing I noticed was the extra detail in forces you can feel through the wheel. Instantly made me feel the cars weight more and somehow connected to the road

  • @itranscendencei7964
    @itranscendencei7964 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Now that you have a DD, I would *HIGHLY* recommend leaving gain at 100% in the Moza app as well as Content Manager and adjusting your force feedback settings in-game with the Force Feedback app on a *per car basis*.
    Almost every car will have different FFB multipliers from one another (even if they're in the same pack). So if you never adjust your FFB settings, you won't be able to get a consistent feel for the steering. Some cars will feel sluggish, while others feels like there's too much grip to even turn the wheel while in drift. Adjusting the FFB in game will ensure that your FFB is where you want it to be, regardless of what car you are driving.

      @@nb8c_fd I'm sorry, but your statement is just false. You can ask pretty much anyone who drives in VDC or ESDA, and they will tell you the same thing. Not every car has the same FFB multiplier, so using the same settings for every car obviously doesn't make any sense. It's just a matter of how cars are made for AC.

      @@itranscendencei7964 No, it's not false. I've been a owner of a Moza base for over 8 months.
      You want to find a comfortable FFB intensity setting in Pit House, then adjust the "Maximum Output Torque" accordingly. That way, no game crash can send your wheel out of control at full torque (has happened before).
      Also, I agree about the per-car adjustment. I religiously do that. But the 100% Pit House gain is pure BS.

      I've never used Moza's software before (I use Simagic), but I don't really see how running 100% gain would be an issue. The only example you have listed is having your wheel go crazy in the event that the game crashes. If that's the whole reason, then I don't really see a problem. I've personally never had AC crash in the middle of a session in the almost 2 years that I have been driving. Also, there should be a soft lock option in the Moza software to stop the wheel from spinning freely. I know this option exists for CM, as well. Even if these options didn't exist, personally I would still run 100% for the consistency, considering I've never had AC crash once loaded into the game.

    God I can't wait to be finally stable enough to buy a direct drive wheel. My logishit wheel is bottlenecking me in getting better at drifting. But dope as hell !!!

    Im really stuck between this wheel base and the Simagic Alpha Mini, Im coming from a T300RS with TH8A Shifter and T-CLM Pedals. Im happy with my current setup but want a more realistic feel since I started getting more comfortable with drifting. What between the 2 wheelbases what are the pros and cons?

    Is there any notable enhancement between the ts series and moza, beside how the g-forces/surfaces feel? My g27 kinda struggle to countersteer, just wondering if I better go with the ts-pc or r9, as Moza doesn’t really supply Switzerland shops😕

    • @CToretto
      @CToretto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The TS pc is still belt driven, the r9 feels really good in comparison. I think thrustmaster are releasing a direct drive soon. I recommend a direct drive in any case 👍

    I’ve been having some problems with oscillations on my new CSL DD, either the inertia is too low and I get crazy oscillations on the transfers when I loosen my grip on the wheel or the inertia is so high the wheel grinds to a halt
    Really Assetto is the only game that this causes my problems in, really weird, though to be fair I’m not exactly drifting in those other games
    (Dirt Rally 2 doesn’t really have a problem with these kinds of transfers either, but there’s lots of differences so idk if that’s relevant)

    Nice, hopefully thrustmasters new dd wheel is half decent, I have a ts-pc, and will get one once avaliable in Canada, and I like thrustmaster ffb, alot, kinda scared to switch, been using their wheels since the tmx,
