my green Mercedes E350 wagon had the same problem. It's caused by the brake light switch. You'll never know about this though, because it's buried deep within the comments section. lol.

Yeah, typical one issue problem which generates heaps of fake faults; connector, mass, wireharness etc. Most dealers will start swapping out essential parts pointed out by diagnose software.
My gran had an e55 with the same issue but that dropped out of power too
my brake light bulb faulty shorted to ground, that caused malfunction all other parts...
I currently have similar issues with my clk, I’ve had the car for 6 years and the faults come at certain times of year for some reason, I assume it’s damp or a corroded plug or earth somewhere…. Most annoying thing about this is that the fuel cap locks while displaying these faults

People don't have a choice, SUV'S qualify as trucks and only have to meet truck efficiency, emmission, and safety standards. Cars are overpriced due to over-regulation, making them less attractive to consumers. I think people would buy wagons if they were available for reasonable money.
Jeffrey Smith the answer is a minivan. For some reason people have this weird distaste for them meanwhile what most people are looking for is a family hauler which is what the van was designed to do. Most modern vans have stow n' go seats so they are also very practical for moving things. Anyone who laughs at one from their crossover is delusional

That actually goes to Land Rovers. Mercedes Benz is actually not that bad. How do I know? Friend of mine sold his w124 when it had 373k miles on it. Transmission had be to rebuilt for $1200 and throttle body replaced. Those were two biggest things.
Actually I’ve driven Mercedes Benz automobiles since 1980 and every now and then I’ll buy one that was an unbelievable deal. It ALWAYS costs more to repair than it would have been to buy a well sorted out more expensive one.
Jaguar , Range Rover and any Italian car are more expensive to maintaine !!
A lot of Jaguars have Ford motors, and while it's hard to work on the parts are cheap if you ask for parts for a taurus

To My Dark green is my absolute favorite color and it totally sucks that it’s been almost entirely killed off in the car world. For the most part you can only get dark green on niche cars or very expensive luxury and performance cars these days. It’s extremely rare to see dark green offered on a mainstream model anymore.

Yea, the oldest trick in the book. Reset the computer on a Lemmon before you sell it so it runs long enough to get down the road before all hell breaks loose. The guy certainly knew about these issues, didn’t say anything about it.

HOOVIE, my high mile E63 did the same exact thing minus the coolant warning right when I got it.
Was a failed voltage regulator which then killed the battery. $117 for a new one from dealer
I also got the cursed coolant warning once, but it was just in fact, low on coolant. Not headbolts
Daniel Inman a 117 for a voltage regulator is pretty steep, have you ever checked out FCP euro? I got one for around 50 dollars and it’s an oem Bosch one and they do a lifetime warranty on everything they sell. Mine unfortunately didn’t solve the problem and I still had to replace the whole alternator and mine killed the battery on the way out too.
@@mcearl8073 That sucks, and thank you. This was ~3.5 years ago when I first purchased the car, I wasn't aware of FCPEURO at the time. I try to religiously use them now, excellent place. At the time, I was just tickled to fix my recently purchased, no warranty, high mile, E63 for only $117 within 1 month of ownership. I believe there is a video on my channel of when it was acting up. I'll admit, it wasn't quite as bad as hoovies, but I was just getting wild gauge cluster activity along with random no starting symptoms.

My shady used Cadillac did the opposite. $1000 for 13k miles before the oil cooler line split and it ruined it's rod bearings. Here's to hoping replacing those for $150 will get me a few hundred more miles.

Hoovie's Hooptie fleet has made me apreciate my slow, uninteresting and dull econobox that starts every day for me and has never let me down.

I own a fully built 350z with a tube front end, tube rear end, roll cage, rear mount radiator, fully custom fuel system with a fuel cell and fuel cell enclosure, a built 8k$ gforce topshift transmission and a 6.0l Chevy lq4 bores out to 6.8l and fully built and it’s more reliable than any car you’ll ever own. It could be Tboned by a semi, rolled over multiple times and still fire right up and drive perfect. Because the entire structure of the car is custom and 1000x stronger than factory. And the engine setup makes 800 on wastegate pressure so can’t go lower than 800hp, tops out at 1400 hp making 26 ibs of boost conservatively because I don’t want to blow a hole through the block.

Hey Tyler, you ESP malfunction and cruise control is due to your Steering Angle sensor being bad. This is also what’s causing it to ride so hard! Once you change it, it will ride smooth again.
Dj Cam tbh personally I would swap out the suspension for standard coil overs and lower it along with the rest of the suspension swapping it for performance suspension parts.
Josh Larochelle that’s an option but the air suspension is very adjustable and comfortable. Plus the steering angle sensor repair isn’t hard at all or particularly expensive.. plus you won’t have to code anything out of the system.

Reminds me of our 2006 E55... endless stream of problems after 90k miles. Eventually got tired to spend so much fixing it. Unsellable as it became, it now sleeps in the barn. Too bad, the engine on it was a monster, really loved that car.

I can't believe that anyone would buy a used car without an OBT2 scanner in hand. I plugged mine into a prospective 2015 RB that ran fine. Lost track of the error codes that popped up.

as some one with a e550 of the same year, arnott air suspension, they are cheaper and better built with a lifetime warranty. Also, AES does a rebuild on the ECU for 250.58. check the transmission control unit and you should be good to go. Also, check the cps magets. they go out.

Some warning lights come on...engine misfires...don't check the oil and coolant levels..."let's keep driving it".
Coolant maybe, but oil? You can only check oil levels via the dash (which was malfunctioning).
@@newbiedebater there are other ways...like...going to a mechanic shop, and dry the oil and check the level. And then...make a big road trip.

James Blunt you clearly don’t understand what this car is... less than 750 produced worldwide between 2008-2014, less than 250 in America, less than 10 in this gorgeous green... it’s a rare collectors car. I’d buy it for 13k replace the engine and swap it over to standard coils and lower it. Amazing car. The suspension wouldn’t even matter because I would actually put performance suspension parts on the car and make it much better than even stock.

I was under the impression that the aux battery was only used to 2006. The '07 and later don't seem to have them due to the elimination of the SBC brake system...
By the way, a partially shorted main battery can produce the same results...
E63s are all Facelifted 211's. Those don't have the SBC brake system or the aux battery. An E55 AMG, on the other hand, would be pre-facelift and have those things.
Still, the main battery can cause a looot of problems on a car like this, if it's not perfect. Or a shitty ground somewhere. Alternator connections are important, too.

On the w211 mercedes the sbc system typically goes out around 200,000 miles. That's around 1,300 for the unit then installation is like 400-700 depending on the guy because it needs to be programmed in and might not be compatible with your car.

The only thing that is wrong with that car is; it needs to be
reprogrammed with a scanner that can restore "Can -Bus Network Settings".
The gateway and the ECU are not communicating with one another.
The memory stored in the Gateway is not being sent to the ECU, the loss
of information is probably due to the battery being disconnected for a
long period of time. Once the ECU is reprogrammed, most of the lights will go
away and the cluster and distronics will work properly. Don't let the
Wizard or the dealership rake you over the coals. ?

Hoovie, what do you have to lose? Try the above and see what happens. My guess is the dealer will do it for you, but don't have them do more if it doesn't work. I'd look for sensor issues and if that fails to correct it, go for a repair on the electronics and start with the engine computer, then whatever is the "master" ECU. My guess is that anyone with the proper analysis/diagnostic system can locate the issue(s) easily.
There is a dang good reason why you only paid $13k for it. Next time, get it checked by a dealer before buying it... that way you;'e only out the money for the exam. Why don't people do this with used cars??? I've done it or have seen the check out list from the used car dealer and have gotten good results.

You need to go to someone with a STAR scanner to pull the codes from the front SAM. They go caput sometimes and can make the components controlled by them seem to go haywire. Good news is you can swap SAM modules with your same OEM MB model numbers.
