Hiya Buddy, from Wales, UK here. Been on exactly the same journey by the sounds of it. I now use the hard plastic Cuban yo-yo's with braid line and never miss a bite. How would I go about ordering one of your wooden hand lines? They're works of art!
Thanks! Yes, Cuban yoyo are very sensitive. The best way to order is from my Web site. The shipping is included. It goes through PayPal which makes things easier. Let me know! Just been on the website, looks awesome! With regards to wait times... I have a lot of tattoos and I've always advised others that if a tattooist has a waiting time of under a month stay clear, if you have to wait 6 months you know your getting quality! It's all about instant gratification these days..it'll be a pleasure to look forward to! 😀
@@southwalesoutdoors3215 Yes, there is a lot of instant gratifications these days. From my music days, I would send of a mouthpiece to have it custom faced for me. The wait was always worth it. That's how I approach main these reels.
Yup! The newest design is much better than prototypes in this video. In fact I'm working on a reel to ship to a fellow in Japan. These reels have sold well.
@@BlackWarriorLures Plan on starting pretty soon. Much like you I feel like it is too complicated with all the accessories and varieties of poles, I feel as you said "eloquent simplicity" is the best.
Yes Praise The Lord for giving this man wisdom. It's wisdom of The Lord that will help us survive the coming apocolypse and he led me to this, although i'm still keeping a teloscopic and handline in my pack the more diverse skill and options we have the more chance we have.
Awsome video, ive started getting into fishing again and i wondered why i couldn't just hold a line with my own two hands rather than deal with all the expensive and confusing kinds of rods and reels out there, its really cool to see people are doing this exact thing! also my name is damian, a little close to yours and i found that funny. again, awsome video! :)
This is why my index finger is always touching the line on a bait caster. You’re 100% right. You gotta be in contact with the line. Especially those subtle bites
Would you do another video showing complete rigging of your hand line reel setup, please? Explaining all the different types of line on your reel. leader, shock cord, flyline...etc. And, why you set up your reel this way. Also, please give recomendations for tweaking your reel set up for different fish/conditions. Thanks.

You were right. Came up 3rd in search. Some great information. Are you still making them on the lathe?

Best video ı ever watched about the fishing
Glad to help!
You're a true poet and philosopher!
Thank you! Glad you got something out of it. Do you do much handline fishing?

Amen...
I'm 60 years old and I think back to my childhood using hand lines.
Your right, going back to basics.
It works!

Thx! These work well.
Passive shore handline fishing is difficult due to modern regulations. I plan to try it when camping on a local river.
Yeah, I often fish from the boat. It's much easier.
I was at the lake today when my rod snapped about an hour in, I almost went home, but I decided I would try handlineing. It was extremely fun.
It works. The fish didn't know that your rod broke.
Great video Sir. Subscribed 30 seconds in. Going to check out your other videos. God bless & happy fishing!
Glad you found it helpful.
I lived in Key West and saw people catching large fish on Cuban yo-yos every day.
Yup! It works!

Yup! You see all the pro bass fishermen thumbing the line.
i am intrigued.
Thx for the interest.
Very educational. Thanks.
Thx!
Amazing. Made me think a lot about the way we fish. 👍
Awesome!! You’re the best!!!
Thank you!
I think that statement is true about everything we do these days.

The one who don't think handlines work never read the Old man and the Sea!
Yup!
I just fish for small fish to eat with a yo-yo
It's a great way to catch eating fish. I wish more people in the western world knew about this method.
You r wrong... I use both hand reel and rods... Rods r important for lure fishing.. Both have their positive and negative sides
I use handlines and rods as well: th-cam.com/video/5iXA62ug0LM/w-d-xo.html
