Great guide Sheen. I was using a very similar version of the build. I have some mana for the holy mission light infusion stacked with the corresponding boon. I use the Tsar great hammer with whiplash (one can get used to the pacing) instead of the platinum one, so I can compensate for the manticore hammer's low durability. I use both totems depending on the situation but I've changed to the old reliable cabal hermit. In the warrior monk, I did choose the counter and master of motion. I use a lot of one of your signature moves: mana ward plus the all-in :). For mana sustain, I change the candle helmet when I'm traveling or fighting mobs for the scholar circlet with rain. This version works great for most of the enemies and bosses (dwellers included) and secret bosses with exception of the Crismon Avatars and The three (damn) sharks, I think that in those cases is better to go with the shaman ritualist. For the liches, I change the candle pieces with the platinum pieces + possessed boon, so you're immune to decay, therefore, you only need to worry about the light mender. For the ridiculous gargoyles, manticore hammer + ethereal infuse + boons go good, but I prefer to change for a while to always broken dreamer halberd. Sorry for the chunk of words lol, just got excited.
Manticore great mace is nuts. Just ridiculous kinda. And I do think one point of mana for that infuse light would have been very handy to have. Great idea there. Sounds like a pretty solid build and going with dreamer for gargoyles is a perfect idea. There is no reason to fight them without ethereal of some kind. Fights last too long otherwise. And I love seeing another mana ward spammer 😂. In my first Outward DE stream I used that so much it was actually crazy lol.
Hey dude, I just started playing Outward, stumbled upon your channel, absolutely love your videos! Just made my BONK char, based on this video, with a few alterations of my own, it's a lot of fun! Keep up the good work!
Thank you and glad you are enjoying the game! Its pretty massive and there are so many different builds to try out. One of the most repayable games I had gotten into.
edit: i’m putting this above the original post cuz it’s better than what i had: same build, except armor is now Master Kazite Cat Mask, Shadow Kazite Light Armor, and Shadow Kazite Light boots. i lose out on some Protection from before and some pouch space, but Predator Leap recharges in about 10 seconds at full alertness and a purkin pie or an energizer potion (plus, i’m getting all that extra Prot at full Alert from Anticipation, and resist from Master of Motion, so losing it on the armor side is not so bad). seriously, tho, people really underestimate how powerful the Soroboreans faction skill really is. there’s a reason there are many rewards for that faction. stacking cooldown is busted 😂 Original Post: i love juggernaut. i’ve been doing something similar - monk with the tank passive and counter, wild hunter too, but i’m not using feral strikes at all. and then speedster with the tanky passive. went with harmattan for my faction, and with my current setup with my Tsar hammer i can just SPAM predator leap. like, my normal cooldown with full alertness is like 20 seconds. juggernaut is down to like 10. since this is skill heavy, either a tsar or a properly enchanted iron weapon so your weapon is unbreakable. and since you’re mostly using skills, the slow speed of the Tsar greathammer isn’t really an issue. plus, our main basic attack is Probe, which once you get it to Flourish with the Tsar hammer... perfect. oh, and put Whiplash on that Tsar weapon. you could probably do the same thing with a Great Axe, just sub Juggernaut for Execution. currently running master kazite helm and boots and the elite plate set, each with their unique enchantments for extra dmg. some enemies, like Veebers, i literally one shot. it’s kinda nice. there are some other setups were i could get some more cooldown that i might try, such as sub master k. helm. for its cat version, and go with wolf plate armor w/ adrenaline, but i lose like 10% dmg and some stamina redux (which is useful with that big hammer), so i’d have to weigh whether or not the extra CD actually matters in a fight ...oh, i ended up taking 2 mana just buff, but it could easily be a no mana build too
Ya when the devs added the soroboreans DLC everything just changed. Cooldown shifts the game into a whole new light and gives you a little bit more freedom with certain skills. Never tried the protection passive from that tree but might need to. I can only imagine juggernaut with insane cooldown lol. The ragdolls would increase exponentially 😂.
You could go will the full Slayer set for more physical damage, and literaly look like a monster hunter. The set looks like its made from monster parts, which actualy is. Is a craftable set. With that chose Levant faction, and you get some dope physical and impact build.
Still need to create a build with the slayer armor. Looks pretty epic but I rarely even think about it when considering armor. I think its only because you need to head over to Caldera to get it.
A fire build would actually go better with the totems. Because the sky chime totem inflicts holy blaze on enemies already burning. So you're doing ethereal damage, fire damage, and lightning damage all at once. Would actually be wild to see an enemy that's on fire then sparking with holy blaze THEN explode from Aetherbomb. Of course most enemies would die before that's all set up.
Very cool setup. To me, the totems are so annoying though. If I were to make something inspired by this, I would either take Mercenary just for movespeed (since heavy armor) or Hex Mage, since Bloodlust is just that good.
Mercenary would be an amazing choice. The speed and stamina reduction would be excellent. I think totems are one of my favorite items in outward but only after using them quite a bit. Never liked them initially, but they make certain situations so freaking easy. Like gargoyles. Just demolishes them while I simply dodge attacks.
Hey man. I'm currently comparing your Blue Ranger, the Dominator and the Monster hunter. I'm very overwhelmed by all the possible combinations and options. Don't really like casting tons of buffs before every fight, but maybe I have to adjust my gameplay here. What is your favorite tank-build? I really want to min-max one character and I know how to legacy-chest stuff for my character. Any help is appreciated.
I would highly recommend the Monster Hunter Build if you aren't big on buffing constantly. With that build you are very tanky just from the armor and totems. Also totems seem a little daunting at first, but I geruntee they will make your life a lot easier. They are insanely strong and excellent in this build. You can also take a few points of mana with this build to use boons easier or a few other magic skills. The pure power of the two handed mace is fun as well. The blue ranger is nearly invincible, but its buffing to the max. You will have a hard time dying but also you don't get do much in the game except attack with the sword and be really defensive. Hopefully this helps a bit!
@@SheenShots thank you very much for the quick response! If you used a little mana, which adjustments would you make for min-maxing stats? And would you choose some other skill trees with that in mind?
I want to try this with pillar greathammer, and maybe trade perfect strike for master of motion, just to give a little more defense to help out with the slower attack speed. Hopefully it would still be tanky enough to get those slower hits off, because the bonk would be so satisfying
My mage got white wide hat, candle plate armor and boots. I enchanted them with status resistance enchantments. Also I have shield from Sirocco, that I forgot name, but it grants you petrified immunity and some other awful status resistance. With shamanic resonance, and Holly mission I got a pretty tanky mage, with resistances to most awful statuses. Though it takes long time to deal with gargoyles
I think that the white mage hat is one of the best mage helmets for sure. It looks great with the candle plate armor set too. Never used that shield myself but I know its status resistance for Caldera is nuts. Sounds like a pretty could build considering the fashion and lightning stats!
what if I swap Primal Ritualist with cabal hermit? It would focus more on the damage side of things instead of the tank one, and I would be able to wear the zhorn's hunting backpack, bc of the drums not taking place, and it's easier to play cause you dont have to place them drums all the time, good alternative, aint it? And instead of flash onslaught I could use counterstrike, so I get more benefits from the shamanic resonance and more impact
Nice build. Pity that one point in mana is too usefull to not take. The amount of QoL options you are giving up for almost no reason (5 stamina, 5 health) is just too much. Again nice build, but no mana builds are always going to be silly challenges for me.
I actually agree with you. At least one point of mana gives you access to so many more skills that could give you the edge you need in tough situations. I will say that the "challenge" of no mana made the combat interesting. There is a it less to focus on and just pure brute force comes with a very confident feeling. Probably won't do no mana again though lol. I think the magic skill are a bit too fun to give up.
Well this build does focus on hammer, but luckily the skills from hunter and warrior monk are great with most weapons. Shield and mace would be great with this for loads of heavy damage. But you could also go great axe as well. Although I would argue great axes are more difficult to master than hammers. So any one handed might be pretty great.
I'll try this build soon. But right now I'm making a rainbow he's and chacram build, since I differently deleted my main character witch had almost every special weapon I could get since my faction quest and had the mini manticore. :(
Dang that sucks. The mini manticore is very cool. Rainbow chakram is worth the effort though. Lots of fun and taking massive chunks of damage out of enemies health is pretty awesome.
You will first need to craft a Mantis Greatpick: -Mantis Granite -Mantis Granite -Palladium Scrap -Mining Pick -You will need to kill rock mantis to get the mantis granite and they are in the desert and antique platoue most often. Then crat the manticore greatmace: -Mantis Greatpick -Manticore Tail -Manticore Tail -Palladium Scrap -You can kill manticores much more easily with fire damage. Fire pressure plate traps work really well.
Fulmination goes on everything so it is usually better. As castigation only goes on palladium weapons you will pretty much always use it on them but nothing else. I ran Castigation for my lightning hammer if I remember correctly as it also inflicts sapped.
Yes but there is one problem that arise with that. This is mainly a defensive build with barrier, protection, and elemental resistances. Losing Primal Ritualist means at least 13 less barrier and 5 less protection. Picking up speedster means your elemental defense goes to 0. Not exactly but its a dramatic difference. Because alertness levels decrease your resistances and at 4 alertness I think its -20% resistance. So not exactly 0 resistance but its enough to matter. Yes you could do this, but it will mess with the main focus of the build so don't be surprised if it works a bit different than this one. Still a fun option regardless.
Yes it is always a good idea to take mana. In fact I think you are only making your life harder if you don't take any. The easy use of one or two boons is too good to pass up. But for the sake of a no mana build lol it can work as both I guess.
opening of your videos never changed, even though I asked. You Could've taken the Tuning Hammer, with the Ghost Drumkit, giving Haunted you would deal more damage plus the After-Effect of the Weapon itself.
The ghost parallel is an amazing hammer. Really fun to use and the aetherbomb would be nuts inside a totem.
Legit laughed my ass off when you slammed that trog into the wall!! XD

I tested it against the crimson avatar and it is hilarious. So much impact that he barely gets to move.
Ok. Time to start a new character :)
Awesome! the monster hunter is a personal favorite of mine. Some real power packed into the greatmace.

This is a vanilla build. Using the Primal Ritualist stuff from the three brothers DLC to absolutely wreck and have excellent defense.
