  • So I did decided to upload a new video!
    This is just a general walk around of my self build campervan. please don't shoot down in the comments...I'm new to this lol!
    I have a dilemma, should I keep it and redesign or sell it and move on? If I do keep It, should I make a video series of the refit? let me know.
    Thanks for watching 😁

    nice build, love the swivel seats. Looks like you have put a fair bit of work into it. Great van for the price.

    Very nice conversion. Very nice. I'm just about finishing mine. Just few cosmetic things. Renault trafic 2019 lwb. Was a luxury crew van. The extra 400mm makes a big difference though. I've got rock & roll bed in mine. As I wanted to take family out occasionally. Been caravanning on seasonal pitch in Peak District for yrs. But wanted to do conversion. But my wife never wanted me to. But she sadly died last Yr.
    I'm 77 now & thoroughly enjoying going Al over UK so far. Possibly Spain next yr.

      Good on you! See the world :) . I would love to see your Trafic!
      I'm not a huge fan of the rock and roll bed however, on sliding floor rails and it makes more sense.

    Honestly it’d be such a shame to rip it apart 😢 If it sells for more than buying a similar van, makes sense to sell and get buy a new canvas.
    Really great video!

      Hey,
      Thank you so much for your comment, it means alot 😊.
      At this stage yes, I could get more than what I initially paid for the van, but vans cost more now than it did back then and would not leave much money left over to reinvest 😔. Plus, I am also emotionally attached lol.
      Sorry for the delay but I have now just uploaded a new Video on my progress.
      Enjoy.

    Just found your channel, I’ve been looking at vans for a few months now and for a swb van this is the best conversion I’ve seen so far!
    Shame it wasn’t for sale now as I would be seriously tempted. Good job 👍

      Thank you. It worked really well, but with a new addition to the fam, changes had to be made🤦🏼‍♂️. It's been a very long time since my last video, however I plan an update vid in the next coming weeks so look out for that.
      Good luck with your journey 👍🏻

      Thank you so much. I'm hoping to post a new video very soon. As with all conversation, you are always having to compromise between sleeping and living accommodation. After some trial and error we finally found something that worked for us. However the compromise was having a slightly short bed to sleeping. Great for us but not for taller peeps.

      @projectnext435  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks dude. You gain an extra 300mm in length with a LWB that could mean the difference on the type of fridge you want or the location of a gas locker or even a slightly wider fixed bed. All things I thought about however, SWB fits neatly into a typical parking bay 👍🏻. All the best with your search 🔎. And thanks for the support!

    Hiya, very helpful vid' as I have just purchased the same vehicle! Can I ask what make the roof rack / awning is please? (I mean is it designed to attach the awning to, or is it two separate things that you've adapted)? Also, where did you get the Captain's chairs (which are great btw) & did you fit them yourself? Thanks so much & I would say only sell it if it's profitable 👍 Kev

      The mattress we have is about 1.63 meters so a little tight for laying out stretched out however, you can make up a few more inches by going to the wall of the van with some thin insulation.

    • @projectnext435

      Thank you 👍🏻
      With regards to condensation we have not had much. We keep the front windows open slightly and keep the can warm inside. We also use dehumidifier bags dotted around the place and some nice thick insulating window panels.
      I would love to do more but time and money dictate ☹️

    • @projectnext435
      @projectnext435  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MissChatterton Thank you. It no longer looks like that, I'm completely remodeling it. 😬. Yes you can swivel a double passenger seat. I had Installed one prior to changing it to a single seat. Here's a link to where I had purchased the swivel base from. www.customshopdesigns.com/product-page/vivaro-primastar-trafic-double-seat-swivel-base
      It was easy to fit but is a little bit of a faff to swivel because It can only spin with the passenger door open.

    • @projectnext435
      @projectnext435  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey,
      We sleep width ways. I'm 5'7 and just fit however, we are both side sleepers and lay with our knees bent. If you we're to do the same, I recommend you don't play over where your head and feet go as you will gain another 4inch. Something that I only thought of after. Either way it worked for us as we wanted both a fixed bed and a lounge. 👍🏻

      @@clarkspiemuncher24 yes, it is tight but we are side sleepers and have our knees bent so not so much of an issue. I would have thought an extra 2 inch if not a little more without the panelling. This did occur to me once I had framed out the bed. Live and learn as they say.👍🏻
