    Quality unit from quality brand. Like the idea of sep gpu cables as needed rather than pig tails. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath 🐈👍

    Thanks for the review, Mike! That PSU is pretty amazing with the transient spike feature… and a pretty reasonable cost for what you get. Well done TT! And, I had no idea *Molex* was a brand… poor guys - I wouldn’t want my company associated with that silly connector! 😂

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  ปีที่แล้ว

      molex have made a crazy amount of electrical connectors that we use all the time in pcs and elsewhere, quite a big brand, but pretty much unknown

    Thermaltake seem a good brand - I have a couple of CT140s in my main rig - I will certainly add them to my filter list when shopping for compnents in future.

      sane here, i like the ct120 and ct140 fans a lot

    A great looking unit with plenty of room for system upgrades. It would be nice if manufacturers had SATA cables with connections that were moveable or crimp on by the end user when fitted. At present the cable connections don't fold too well under covers or invariably may be in the wrong positions.

      Not a bad idea not sure how it would be done, but great idea

    Thermaltake take their desirable PSU and then make it cheaper ! Noice !!! Given the crappy prices of PSUs in England at the moment this looks like to be spot on. Nice one Thermaltake and thanks Mike and Kath for the video.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah PSU prices are getting worse by the day! And when we start moving further into ATX3.0 territory prices will be climbing across the board, ATX2.0 is so much cheaper to manufacture

    Hi, Mike. Since I'll neve own an Nvidia GPU, I won't be needing the 12VHPWR plugin. Also, between the GF A3 and the GF3, I'd be inclined to buy the GR3, even if it is twice the price of the GF A3.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the 12vhpwr connection will eventually make it through to all cards in time (i hope not really) when PCIe gen5 GPUs make an appearance that will probably shake up the PSU market, although not as much as when we went from AT to ATX

    Hi Mike, thanks for the review. Is the greater deviation not a stability issue for some games? Its nice to save a couple of dollars, but i'm also buying the rtx4080 wondering if im cutting corners here, and if i should go for the normal gf 850 watt instead of the a3? The rest is not my concern, only the system stability (im not an overclocker)

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  ปีที่แล้ว

      i would first look at the price difference between them and see what that is like. Also the GF3 is a little quieter due to the bigger fan, that does come into consideration for some people. Otherwise there isn't a lot between them. I just swapped out my GF3 1000w for a GF a3 1050w but that was because it was white. I don't consider it a downgrade, and strangely my GPU coil whine has reduced a lot as well.

    Just a quick question Mike .. why don't most reviewers stress how important the delivery is on the 12v rail . I've seen quite a few so called high power PSUs with terrible 12v delivery

    Why buy a high power rated PSU when not needed for your PC build?

    • @Arachnoid_of_the_underverse
      @Arachnoid_of_the_underverse ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Future proofing your supply i.e. you may upgrade your GPU in the future.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah graphics cards and CPUs are needing a different platform and PCIE gen5 and ATX3 is the future, but it is expensive to build, so buy now or wait, either way eventually you will need one

      if you look at any PSU that sells in big numbers you will get some horror stories, although unless i see some proof of it happening i usually take posts like that with a big pinch of salt, there are so many weirdos online these days

    My Apevias ATX-PR 1000W stopped working in less than a year. In 2023, I bought a gaming CyberPower PC from Best Buy that came with this PSU, it’s trash! In less than a year it started making a loud noise like a blender and stopped working. For it being 11 months old is unacceptable. I am really disappointed CyberPower PC installed such a low grade PSU in their PC. I recommend staying away from this PSU unless you are okay with replacing it in less than a year.

      being that you went through two high end PSUs is as many years are you sure you are not mounting these wrong or in a dusty area with no airflow
