- Today we’re heading out to Takadanobaba in Tokyo, Japan, so we can show you some amazing, Fukuoka Style Bukkake Udon. While we’re at it, we’re going to stop by a Michelin recommended Ramen Shop, Ramen Yamaguchi, as well as a cute little mochi shop, as we explore the neighbourhood. The Mochi shop is harder to describe. If you walk back towards Takadanobaba Station from Ramen Yamaguchi, it’s along the way. Closer to the Ramen shop than the station. You should see a window outside the shop that has the mochi on display, which is how we found it.

To those who make a joke about "BUKKAKE".
"Bukkake" is mainly used for a way of eating UDON.
Please keep it in mind majority of Japanese people don't know of the specific meaning you are referring to.

There's an awesome Tsukemen place in Takadanobaba and if you go near Waseda you can have absolutely amazing Aburamen! Highly recommend going around that area. Also, in my opinion, the best Taiyaki place is also located there. This is how its called 鳴門鯛魚燒本舖 (Narutotaiyakihompo) and they say they're the first place to use the taiyaki grill (or something like that... they were first in something for sure tho)

Ok so i was going to watch this video the other day and then i didn't for whatever reason but it was actually for the better cos i watched it today and felt soooooo much better after a crap day by seeing you guys struggle with LIFE, places closed, or things not going to plan cos that is what happened to me today! It's crazy how vulnerability helps connect with people, i am a firm believer that we connect with others through our weaknesses more than our triumphs because not everyone has the same triumphs in life, but all can relate to the crap that happens to everybody in different ways. Apart from that, Kashiwa-mochi is offered on May 5th (Tango no Sekku). And as for the soup stock, basically kelp is used in Kansai region (Kyoto, Osaka, ...), dried bonito flakes in Kanto region (Tokyo, ...) and also small dried sardine is widely used, plus soy sauce is thick in Kanto, light in Kansai.

The noodles looks great! My husband and I love your beef udon recipe and now I have some ideas for other udon toppings.

I love in these videos the shots of people just doing their jobs. Like the dude putting the noodles into water, like thats his job he does this every day and it might not seem special to him. But for me as a viewer its so cool seeing this person on the other side of the world do something that I think is so amazing and special! The internet can be cool sometimes

I always enjoy your videos, and I'll admit I envy them sometimes because I miss Japan so much! I never ever thought I'd go there until I had a random discussion with a friend and somehow Japan came up and the idea stuck with me and 11 months later I was in Japan having the time of my life. I will admit. After learning about the more common meaning of "bukkake" from a Cards Against Humanity game, I felt awkward reading that in the title and hearing it often in the video. But then when Martina explained how Japan uses bukkake as a conjugation of the verb meaning "to splash", I felt a little better.
All of these amazing food bites, and not just burdock root udon and cold shrimp tempura bukkake udon either.

Hey great memory! Yes, burdock can be quite woody, and it’s either soaked in a sweet sticky sauce or shredded and still woody. This was shockingly delicious! Like a sweet potato meets potato meets ???
