They need to add a report option to the devs changes, because Micro buffing Orisa should definitley give them some sort of penalty to making changes to the game

I don't know why they don't just make the knockback resistance value different for each hero. Reinhardt needs a high value like 40%, but when they make the value 40% for all tanks, tanks that shouldn't have high knockback resistance like winston and dva benefit way more. They should just make the knockback resistance hero specific so they don't keep having to shuffle it around
When Rein has 25% knockback resistance he'll be barely playable. Like, a zenyatta could probably solo him, just kicking him away when he gets close. Meanwhile, Dva and Winston with 25% will be barely survivable. They'll still be incredibly strong, but now maybe the Ashe or Pharah or Lucio can survive the first 5 seconds of the dive.
They don't want to continue raising the skill gap and making certain things affect different characters differently. It’s a role passive, not a character passive.
My favorite part of every patch note video is Flats losing his mind at the inevitable Orisa microbuff. The dead stop every time he sees it is enough to roll into bronze positioning from laughter.
I genuinely think orisa is just a bad designed character. Her entire kit is about shutting down other people and that just isn't fun for anyone. It's got to the point where I don't even play overwatch whenever she's Meta which also lasts for way to long. Just give her her old kit back and shed still be good and not stop anybody from doing anything. I really love overwatch but I don't see a reason to play the game when I can have more fun playing literally anything else

Honestly if you remember prime brig, regardless if it was due to inexperience, letting a support be able to hawk down every tank in the game in a 1v1 and squishies in a 1v2 maybe even a 1v3 depending on the heroes is insanely terrible decision making for a triple A title team

@@ni9274yeah, if they are laying on top of it or it goes off within 30-60cm (12-24" or 1-2 feet) of their head. They have a small concussive blast, but it's the sound from that small blast that does most of the work. They are designed to suddenly overwehlm a targets senses with an instantanous loud noise and flash of light. At close range and in enclosed spaces, it also reverberates a concussive blast wave that adds to the desired brief sensory overload that causes the disorientation. At this point Cass is just using low yield pipe bombs with the remaining volume being magnesium or some form of phosphorus for a minor disorientation effect. Basically a minor explosive with a minor flash powder/bomb combined in one pipe bomb.
It really just feels like they are swinging the dial on tanks back and forward over and over with no goal. This just screams to me that they don't know what they are doing any more.
The players dont know what they want. In season 9, tanks were screaming their life sucks. So they buffed tanks. Then everyone screamed dps sucks because tanks too op. So now they reduce the tanks armor. Sooo,i guess now its supports time to scream and i bet next midseason is supports buffs?

Idk why but whenever I play mystery hero's I either have the worst game or I pop off on a character that I never play. And if I try playing that character outside of mystery hero's I'm just garbage.

I kind of like it. It makes diferen heroes fun to play and it make it so not the same heroes are always good. I like that each hero gets it spotlight some season but I get if someone has a main hero and it gets out of the meta he might get angry
They really just do all of these changes in a vacuum, like they don't take in to account anything other than the characters by themselves. It's so frustrating
Yeah i don't get the buffing/nerfing coinciding with a bug fix. Take for instance DVa this patch. The speed ring bug was the issue, but we throw a micro nerf in too.
adding 'Role queue' to mystery heroes ruins the chaos inherent in the game. now it's just a variation of quickplay. I've played a few RQ MH matches now, and i think i might just finally be done with Overwatch.. I was a casual player, with not-a-lot of time to devote to the game, so i tend to play for an hour or so, and have a win rate of about 20% (partly due to the implementation of the leaver's penalty, btw) . the chaos of MH was what kept me coming back. no amount of microtweaking numbers can make this game any fun anymore. Player since May 2016, Beta tester, i've seen this game spiral into the toilet. Time to flush
I almost exclusively play mh and now I can’t even play the one mode I enjoy unless I do it in a fucking custom game where I get absolutely nothing for playing it.
It was also useful for "scouting" in normal game modes, but that is it, because in combat it was completely useless. Dont know why overwatch devs remove this silly things, but leave things that really are harmful for the games health.

That was the 3.5 sec dm making her literally immortal though… now with 3 secs at least you have to somewhat manage it. She’s really not that op without Juno speed boost, just a little better than Winston.
I think i prefer open queue mystery heroes, as there is just so much fun in the randomness. because of this for example if you queue for tank, there is a big chance you will just get the same few heros over and over again due to how few tanks there are compared to dps

The only one I'm genuinely upset with is the role queue for mystery heroes. It's my only chance to try new heroes without people flaming I'm bad at DPS. And it took that away
Agreed, MH is my favorite way to try characters that I may never pick. Plus I'm not trying to sit through insane queue times just cause they want people to pick roles.
You know what really bugs me. Ok so it’s another rein complaint, but why are we gonna make knockback resistance so weak again on tanks without adjusting rein’s knockback resistance? Rein NEEDS to be at arms length to do anything yet there’s no speed passive for him to close distance, or the removal of the speed penalty on shield for him, he has the easiest ability to play around (rein shield) to hit your CC abilities on him, his charge is still the most inconsistent ability in the game when pinning enemies, his firestrikes aren’t even a guaranteed kill shot if you land 2 on a squishy. At the very least, this patch, they could’ve given him knockback resistance to compensate for this nerf that really affects him more than any other tank
Tldr; stop buffing roles, buff individual hero passives. It's how they used to balance heroes in Ow1 lol. Also his pin is more forgiving the longer you charge, literally. The longer you charge, the bigger the hitbox for it is. That's why you can be point blank and miss all 5 ppl, but if you pin from Narnia you are guaranteed to kill 1 person. There's a vid explaining it in early Ow2 which still applies now iirc.
I think part of the reason Rein is so hard to balance is cuz he is so good in low ranks but bad in high ranks. Buff him, now he is shitting on everyone in silver, nerf him and he is a throw pick in high rank.
Yea they nerfed Dva at the cost of Rein players' sanity. Personally I think Rein should have something similar to the DPS passive where if he does damage, he gets a 30% speed boost for 2 seconds. It would be just enough to have him keep pace with the dps so that he doesnt get booped away and kited the entire fight.
I wish they could nerf the tank that's dominating in any given patch without nerfing them into the ground so no one plays them. I feel like it happens every time.

I'm a GM Hanzo player with close to 5000 hrs on him. Having the one-shot back is the best thing we could ask for. However, there are some issues with the nerfs. Based on my experience playing him after this patch: The slower draw speed is really bad for him. There is a lot of mobility around and we still have 225 HP. The charge rate nerf in particular forces us to play him very passively. Naturally, being forced to play more passive means we can't take certain aggressive positions we could before - it's much too risky. Playing more passively also means we will hit much less shots than we did pre-S9. My understanding was that the devs wanted to encourage more active play-styles rather than passive ones. This fails that goal. The reverted projectiles and slower draw speed also means we are even weaker to flyers and flankers than we ever were before, considering they have massive projectiles while ours is tiny. We are kind of playing by different rules than everyone else now. The better change, imo, would have been to keep his charge rate the same as it was, but to nerf Storm Arrows to 4 count. The Storm Arrows were more problematic to the tanks, which are a bigger concern than being able to shoot 0.15 seconds faster with primary. It may also be good to bring his HP back to 250.
There seems to be a basic concept they don’t understand; a broken character doesn’t always have a crazy win % because both teams are forced to play them.
no mirror match ups aren't counted. The problem really is just that she's a tank, and if she starts to become meta, everyone just hard counters her. Her win rate is ruined by people who don't know how to play her properly playing her on bad maps or into like zayra, sym, mei brig and whatever.

I don't like that signatures get removed after the rank reset. Overwatch feels like it is already lacking a lot in rewards for playing. All you get are weapon recolors if you play competetive and some titles and name cards with progression. So having the Signatures be permanent would have been nice.
Honestly if they make new ones every season then yeah I don't get why they don't retain forever. It makes the content basically completely redundant other than the devs being able to reuse them whenever they want to. The Role rank title cards make sense to reset because you could change rank, though I do wish they did something like Rocket League where you get grand champ titles for a season, they could do the same with GM, Top 500, or Champion (or any/all combinations of that)

It does pool noodle damage which against anyone that has atleast 2 braincells can heal like 10 hp and the amount of swings can go from 2 to all the way to 4 against supports lol. Without nano it is extremely hard to get more than 1 kills against skilled players. So basically, just make dragonblade scary again. Imo anyways
At this point it feels like they’re slowing reverting everything to pre season 9… even the “buffed” damage on some heroes will just make things feel the same as they were before season 9.
I hate that they indirectly nerfed one of Genji's, as well as Hanzo and Kiriko's ledge grab techs. It's been in the game for forever so it makes no sense to "fix" this. This also makes all of the genji parkour maps impossible

she's always had 3 second dm and not seemed OP. she can't do anything unless booping noses. leave her alone. other tanks have range advantage. most people will just wait for u to dive in and everyone will shoot u and just explode
Feels awful. Reaper's already been dominating and now he does way more armour damage. I feel completely helpless when a Reaper is just right there in my face and my DPS aren't helping me shoot him. He just gets to completely delete my health bar for free and leave if he feels even slightly threatened.
Her actual problem is she's been buffed to the point she does too much lol. She was always meant to be a peel tank, which is why DM is so strong. But then they buffed her boosters cooldowns, her damage, armour, ult etc. Now she can peel, dive backline and delete squishies, tank way too much damage and still have the mobility to get out of most damage quickly. It's the end result of 10 seasons of microbuffs that she's become problematic. Same with all the other problematic heroes.
It's wild how Orisa gets a small buff every single patch until she's op again, meanwhile other heroes like Genji go for months now without any changes.
The problem with Tank was the fact that they were unkillable if decent with the character. DVA, Ram, Winston, and even Rein were big problems for DPS/support. I’ve had games where Rein could play so Willy nilly and get away with it because of all the armor and mitigation. I don’t want to play a game in which one role doesn’t die because they “suck to play”. The problem is that the game revolves around one person on the team.

The Venture nerf was utterly pointless. If anything this patch massively buffs tracer, who fires tons of low damage projectiles which really made tanks a problem for her...Now armour is 30% weaker, she will have a field day.

@@falcodarkzz Tracer does 5.5 damage per bullet. Armour reduces damage per bullet by 7, but is capped at a 50% reduction, so that heroes like Tracer don't do 0 damage against Armour. Unless the reduction from armour goes from 7 down to 3 per bullet and/or she gets a damage buff, Tracer will always do (at best) 2.25 damage per bullet against armour. TLDR: Nothing changed for Tracer in terms of Armour damage.

Flats, you have no idea how bad the "fix" of the infinite edge grab is. This has effectively killed Genji and many other climb heroes cool techs. This has killed almost all parkour maps. You shouldn't be claiming that it was a good thing. It's a horrible decision made my blizzard's ignorance. :'(
The role queue mystery heroes makes me kinda sad because I’ve been getting back into Overwatch 2 lately and have been teaching myself about the different characters and their abilities through mystery heroes, it’s been helping me improve a lot and having completely random heroes helps because I don’t have a particular role I want to play as when I’m learning like this

Still unsure as a hanzo main. The oneshot back is great but I definitely feel the nerfs too. The lower projectile makes you miss a little more but the big thing for me is the draw speed which really messes up my muscle memory. Maybe he will feel good after some time but right now im on the fence.
They are braindead to be moving sigma direct hit damage over to explosion damage. No self-damage is a nice QoL but like cmon man. Removing some of the benefit of his skill-based shots to the ez-mode damage is stupid. Sigma is going to be absurdly oppressive imho. Thats 80 damage for retroactively missing your shots. As long as you are mostly on target and spaced properly (which good sigmas always do), you are consistently outputting 80 damage when you fuckin miss. That's legitimately stupid lol
The explosion damage scales based on distance from the target, so you are not really going to get a consistent 80 per volley (It'll probably be more around 50-60 if I had to guess), with a minimum of like 24. Still don't like that's what they are doing though, Sigma has always been historically been a hero that needs precision, and reducing the amount of damage lost on a miss kind of really pushes him further to require less mechanical skill to perform well with, same shit they've been doing to Kiriko where her headshot multiplier has been lowered but her base damage has been increased.

They legit made you not even have to have a FUNDAMENTAL of a fps game by allowing you to still deal dmg without even aiming at anything cause the explosive radius and dmg has skyrocketed. An former owl player playing sigma will be no different then a gold player cause the skill ceiling that was required from sigma to hit shots accurately has dramatically decreased
Removing infinite ledge grab makes no sense. It didn’t make any characters broken, and any it did help was by a marginal amount. It was a cool thing to utilize with certain characters like Genji for example, but now that option is just completely gone. I don’t know why they like getting rid of cool mechanics like this and ghost dash, since their goal is to make a fun game. But removing fun mechanics like those is antithetical to that goal. I think with gaming, we should always push to keep fun things in them, instead of needlessly removing them. And like another comment already said, this mechanic was used a lot in Genji parkour. So blizzard is also killing a fun game mode with this change as well.
Doomfist also. We can send tanks flying like crazy. I've ruined so many ULT set ups already. I make rams ult, Orisa, mauga, zarya useless. I punch them far af and they don't have enough time to follow thru to do anything.
And nerf armor reduction to 7 per bullet. I play hog, maybe the MOST dva countered character in the game, and this will actually be extremely brutal. I will shred her with left clicks now lol. Same with soldier / bastion / shotgun characters / juno. They also fixed the broken ass speed boost interaction with her shift
1. She lost 25 health. Lost 50 armor, only 25 was converted to white health, meaning she has 700 HP instead of 725 HP 2. Armor now only reduces 7 damage instead of 10, which means she takes more damage. So she effectively lost 150 HP
removing 50 armor (25 total max hp) is pretty significant. That paired with armor being worse in general and also fixing the interaction with speed boosts, I'd say it's a pretty solid nerf

Losing 150 effective health won't stop her from from boosting into my face mid team fight, deleting me in 0,5 seconds with micromissiles + primary fire, and flying back to safety before she even reaches half health. My last ten games since the patch have LITERALLY not changed, except for the fact that I'm getting killed be hanzos more often
Not a fan of the mystery heroes change. They’re just introducing longer wait times as, like always, most people will choose dps. Mystery heroes is the only time I play DPS cause I hate being in that queue
Armor should be a -5 per pellet that can't go higher than 50% or lower than 15% (for damage instances where 5 is less than 15%) That way it doesn't heavily favor one type of damage (pellets or big bursts) too much over the other
@@StephanieMiller-r3m allegedly. There are many bugs with armor right now where Ram and Brig can take a full dva bomb and be left with 20 health, so no one really knows why its messing up currently
@@Jacknorringtonthat's a bug with heroes that can have multiple layers of armor. Ram in Nemesis and ult as well as Brig in rally cause armor to apply its damage reduction twice. We know the bug. For example, Soldier was doing 4.5 per shot to Ram in nemesis because the 50% cap was applying twice with 10 damage reduction. Now it should be doing 5.5 damage per shot if it's still not fixed. Once it is fixed it should do 11 per shot

Dva's problem is that she has half a million hp, a " you can't kill me" ability that lasts for 3 seconds, and then a combination with a support that makes her MACH 10 speed that makes her able to fly into the face of a player and just eliminate them from life because of her UNREAL damage. The Juno interaction have got to go, Dva needs to not be unkillable and then she needs to be mid or trash for at LEAST 1 season so people get a break from that horrificly designed character.

I kinda like the mystery update. Locking it to certain classes might help with the unfair teams that happen sometimes, like a bunch of tanks versus a bunch of healers.
@Synthpopper Every time you die, you get a random hero. If you're unable to kill the other team that's full of tanks with a healer that can put them back to full health, you're just going to be fighting the same OP team over and over again. Some people don't exactly like fighting a wall of tanks when the only random heroes you seem to get are healers. Plus, you also got to deal with the tanks Ults since if they don't die they will eventually get their Ult charge while yours gets reset every time.
The majority of this patch pissed me off. They 100% nerfed armor across the board just because of Dva and everyone is going to feel it. All the other characters felt so much better but not too oppressive and it even effects characters like torb and brig will be hurt by it too. Also screw bringing back Hanzo one shot, the lack of one shot did not stop my teammates from picking him every single game so you can't tell me people aren't playing him and it feels like shit to play against when you just walk around a corner and die to a random spam.
Dw it also affects Bastion. So his buffs won't really matter seeing as he will also get melted by coordinated teams. Reaper can already shred him even if he's in turret form.
I had a detailed response as to why you are wrong about the one-shot on hanzo, but then i realized that it doesn't matter what your opinion is, it can't, and won't affect the game.
Thanks for the philosophy lesson. Literally no one enjoys getting random headshot by a Hanzo. So why does their fun get to come at the cost of others? Most of the characters I enjoy took a hit from this patch and half the changes were just totally unnecessary. Don't know why you decided to dump your opinion that another opinion is invalid cause I don't control the game.
i dont think zen was ever 50 damage my guy, discord orb used to make enemies take more damage universally but zens damage i dont believe on its own was ever this high

I don't know why they don't just make the knockback resistance value different for each hero. Reinhardt needs a high value like 40%, but when they make the value 40% for all tanks, tanks that shouldn't have high knockback resistance like winston and dva benefit way more. They should just make the knockback resistance hero specific so they don't keep having to shuffle it around

When Rein has 25% knockback resistance he'll be barely playable. Like, a zenyatta could probably solo him, just kicking him away when he gets close.
Meanwhile, Dva and Winston with 25% will be barely survivable. They'll still be incredibly strong, but now maybe the Ashe or Pharah or Lucio can survive the first 5 seconds of the dive.
They don't want to continue raising the skill gap and making certain things affect different characters differently. It’s a role passive, not a character passive.

I genuinely think orisa is just a bad designed character. Her entire kit is about shutting down other people and that just isn't fun for anyone. It's got to the point where I don't even play overwatch whenever she's Meta which also lasts for way to long. Just give her her old kit back and shed still be good and not stop anybody from doing anything. I really love overwatch but I don't see a reason to play the game when I can have more fun playing literally anything else

They have a small concussive blast, but it's the sound from that small blast that does most of the work.
They are designed to suddenly overwehlm a targets senses with an instantanous loud noise and flash of light.
At close range and in enclosed spaces, it also reverberates a concussive blast wave that adds to the desired brief sensory overload that causes the disorientation.
At this point Cass is just using low yield pipe bombs with the remaining volume being magnesium or some form of phosphorus for a minor disorientation effect.
Basically a minor explosive with a minor flash powder/bomb combined in one pipe bomb.
It really just feels like they are swinging the dial on tanks back and forward over and over with no goal. This just screams to me that they don't know what they are doing any more.

The players dont know what they want. In season 9, tanks were screaming their life sucks. So they buffed tanks. Then everyone screamed dps sucks because tanks too op. So now they reduce the tanks armor. Sooo,i guess now its supports time to scream and i bet next midseason is supports buffs?

The speed ring bug was the issue, but we throw a micro nerf in too.
So, they won't fix the issue where mercy revives someone, and they go straight to spawn. (It shows that they were revived but they still go to spawn.)

adding 'Role queue' to mystery heroes ruins the chaos inherent in the game. now it's just a variation of quickplay. I've played a few RQ MH matches now, and i think i might just finally be done with Overwatch.. I was a casual player, with not-a-lot of time to devote to the game, so i tend to play for an hour or so, and have a win rate of about 20% (partly due to the implementation of the leaver's penalty, btw) . the chaos of MH was what kept me coming back. no amount of microtweaking numbers can make this game any fun anymore. Player since May 2016, Beta tester, i've seen this game spiral into the toilet. Time to flush

I think i prefer open queue mystery heroes, as there is just so much fun in the randomness. because of this for example if you queue for tank, there is a big chance you will just get the same few heros over and over again due to how few tanks there are compared to dps

You know what really bugs me. Ok so it’s another rein complaint, but why are we gonna make knockback resistance so weak again on tanks without adjusting rein’s knockback resistance? Rein NEEDS to be at arms length to do anything yet there’s no speed passive for him to close distance, or the removal of the speed penalty on shield for him, he has the easiest ability to play around (rein shield) to hit your CC abilities on him, his charge is still the most inconsistent ability in the game when pinning enemies, his firestrikes aren’t even a guaranteed kill shot if you land 2 on a squishy. At the very least, this patch, they could’ve given him knockback resistance to compensate for this nerf that really affects him more than any other tank
Tldr; stop buffing roles, buff individual hero passives. It's how they used to balance heroes in Ow1 lol.
Also his pin is more forgiving the longer you charge, literally. The longer you charge, the bigger the hitbox for it is. That's why you can be point blank and miss all 5 ppl, but if you pin from Narnia you are guaranteed to kill 1 person. There's a vid explaining it in early Ow2 which still applies now iirc.

Yea they nerfed Dva at the cost of Rein players' sanity. Personally I think Rein should have something similar to the DPS passive where if he does damage, he gets a 30% speed boost for 2 seconds. I'm a GM Hanzo player with close to 5000 hrs on him.
Having the one-shot back is the best thing we could ask for. However, there are some issues with the nerfs.
Based on my experience playing him after this patch:
The slower draw speed is really bad for him. There is a lot of mobility around and we still have 225 HP. The charge rate nerf in particular forces us to play him very passively. Naturally, being forced to play more passive means we can't take certain aggressive positions we could before - it's much too risky.
Playing more passively also means we will hit much less shots than we did pre-S9. My understanding was that the devs wanted to encourage more active play-styles rather than passive ones. This fails that goal.
The reverted projectiles and slower draw speed also means we are even weaker to flyers and flankers than we ever were before, considering they have massive projectiles while ours is tiny. We are kind of playing by different rules than everyone else now.
The better change, imo, would have been to keep his charge rate the same as it was, but to nerf Storm Arrows to 4 count. The Storm Arrows were more problematic to the tanks, which are a bigger concern than being able to shoot 0.15 seconds faster with primary. It may also be good to bring his HP back to 250.

There seems to be a basic concept they don’t understand; a broken character doesn’t always have a crazy win % because both teams are forced to play them.
no mirror match ups aren't counted. The problem really is just that she's a tank, and if she starts to become meta, everyone just hard counters her. Her win rate is ruined by people who don't know how to play her properly playing her on bad maps or into like zayra, sym, mei brig and whatever.

I don't like that signatures get removed after the rank reset.
Overwatch feels like it is already lacking a lot in rewards for playing. All you get are weapon recolors if you play competetive and some titles and name cards with progression.
So having the Signatures be permanent would have been nice.

At this point it feels like they’re slowing reverting everything to pre season 9… even the “buffed” damage on some heroes will just make things feel the same as they were before season 9.
I hate that they indirectly nerfed one of Genji's, as well as Hanzo and Kiriko's ledge grab techs. It's been in the game for forever so it makes no sense to "fix" this. This also makes all of the genji parkour maps impossible

Feels awful. Reaper's already been dominating and now he does way more armour damage. I feel completely helpless when a Reaper is just right there in my face and my DPS aren't helping me shoot him. He just gets to completely delete my health bar for free and leave if he feels even slightly threatened.
Nah DVAs problem is the fact her defense matrix is too OP. It eats almost every ability in the game on a 1 second cooldown 🙄
Her actual problem is she's been buffed to the point she does too much lol. She was always meant to be a peel tank, which is why DM is so strong. But then they buffed her boosters cooldowns, her damage, armour, ult etc. Now she can peel, dive backline and delete squishies, tank way too much damage and still have the mobility to get out of most damage quickly. It's the end result of 10 seasons of microbuffs that she's become problematic. Same with all the other problematic heroes.
Sounds like somebody has never heard of mauga/bastion/soldier combo on her. Zarya, Mei, Sym, Moira, Brig… DM works on none of those characters btw

The problem with Tank was the fact that they were unkillable if decent with the character. DVA, Ram, Winston, and even Rein were big problems for DPS/support. I’ve had games where Rein could play so Willy nilly and get away with it because of all the armor and mitigation. I don’t want to play a game in which one role doesn’t die because they “suck to play”. The problem is that the game revolves around one person on the team.

They will, if they want the overwatch 1 heroes to work in 5v5 they would have to rework most of the roster which they clearly don't want to do.

The Venture nerf was utterly pointless. If anything this patch massively buffs tracer, who fires tons of low damage projectiles which really made tanks a problem for her...Now armour is 30% weaker, she will have a field day.
Armor still fucks tracer so up so no she will not have a field day against tanks with armor
@@savage3PC she will be 30% more effective against tanks. That's pretty serious, sure they still have the headshot nerf...Tracer is already S tier if you know how to play her and this patch is an indirect buff to her. Im a Tracer main and am salivating lol.

@@falcodarkzz Tracer does 5.5 damage per bullet. Armour reduces damage per bullet by 7, but is capped at a 50% reduction, so that heroes like Tracer don't do 0 damage against Armour.
Unless the reduction from armour goes from 7 down to 3 per bullet and/or she gets a damage buff, Tracer will always do (at best) 2.25 damage per bullet against armour.
TLDR: Nothing changed for Tracer in terms of Armour damage.

Flats, you have no idea how bad the "fix" of the infinite edge grab is. This has effectively killed Genji and many other climb heroes cool techs. This has killed almost all parkour maps. You shouldn't be claiming that it was a good thing. It's a horrible decision made my blizzard's ignorance. :'(

The role queue mystery heroes makes me kinda sad because I’ve been getting back into Overwatch 2 lately and have been teaching myself about the different characters and their abilities through mystery heroes, it’s been helping me improve a lot and having completely random heroes helps because I don’t have a particular role I want to play as when I’m learning like this
Does anyone else think they're doing this on purpose? The devs of overwatch are more in touch with their community then most others so is it really that hard to believe they'd do the exact thing a very popular streamer who mainly plays their game sayd they'd do? It's impossible for them to have accidently micro-buffed orisa again, they must be memeing and waiting to see how long they can get away with it

Still unsure as a hanzo main. The oneshot back is great but I definitely feel the nerfs too. The lower projectile makes you miss a little more but the big thing for me is the draw speed which really messes up my muscle memory. Maybe he will feel good after some time but right now im on the fence.
They are braindead to be moving sigma direct hit damage over to explosion damage. No self-damage is a nice QoL but like cmon man. Removing some of the benefit of his skill-based shots to the ez-mode damage is stupid. Sigma is going to be absurdly oppressive imho. Thats 80 damage for retroactively missing your shots. As long as you are mostly on target and spaced properly (which good sigmas always do), you are consistently outputting 80 damage when you fuckin miss. That's legitimately stupid lol

The explosion damage scales based on distance from the target, so you are not really going to get a consistent 80 per volley (It'll probably be more around 50-60 if I had to guess), with a minimum of like 24.
Still don't like that's what they are doing though, Sigma has always been historically been a hero that needs precision, and reducing the amount of damage lost on a miss kind of really pushes him further to require less mechanical skill to perform well with, same shit they've been doing to Kiriko where her headshot multiplier has been lowered but her base damage has been increased.

They legit made you not even have to have a FUNDAMENTAL of a fps game by allowing you to still deal dmg without even aiming at anything cause the explosive radius and dmg has skyrocketed. An former owl player playing sigma will be no different then a gold player cause the skill ceiling that was required from sigma to hit shots accurately has dramatically decreased
19:23 I think this is a flashpoint thing mainly. Dva could go through speed ring AND flashpoint spawn boost whilst thrusting and get crazy high speeds

Removing infinite ledge grab makes no sense. It didn’t make any characters broken, and any it did help was by a marginal amount. It was a cool thing to utilize with certain characters like Genji for example, but now that option is just completely gone. I don’t know why they like getting rid of cool mechanics like this and ghost dash, since their goal is to make a fun game. But removing fun mechanics like those is antithetical to that goal. I think with gaming, we should always push to keep fun things in them, instead of needlessly removing them. And like another comment already said, this mechanic was used a lot in Genji parkour. So blizzard is also killing a fun game mode with this change as well.
Ram sigma are the two picks you’ll see for the rest of the season and I’m cool with that

Doomfist also. We can send tanks flying like crazy. I've ruined so many ULT set ups already. I make rams ult, Orisa, mauga, zarya useless. I punch them far af and they don't have enough time to follow thru to do anything.
I love the mystery hero change, gets rid of the unfair luck aspect where the other team gets GOATS comp and rolls but keeps the fun hero switches

And nerf armor reduction to 7 per bullet. I play hog, maybe the MOST dva countered character in the game, and this will actually be extremely brutal. I will shred her with left clicks now lol. Same with soldier / bastion / shotgun characters / juno. They also fixed the broken ass speed boost interaction with her shift
1. She lost 25 health. Lost 50 armor, only 25 was converted to white health, meaning she has 700 HP instead of 725 HP
2. Armor now only reduces 7 damage instead of 10, which means she takes more damage. So she effectively lost 150 HP
removing 50 armor (25 total max hp) is pretty significant. That paired with armor being worse in general and also fixing the interaction with speed boosts, I'd say it's a pretty solid nerf

2. Losing 150 effective health won't stop her from from boosting into my face mid team fight, deleting me in 0,5 seconds with micromissiles + primary fire, and flying back to safety before she even reaches half health.

Armor should be a -5 per pellet that can't go higher than 50% or lower than 15% (for damage instances where 5 is less than 15%)
That way it doesn't heavily favor one type of damage (pellets or big bursts) too much over the other
It does have a cap of 50% damage reduction already.
@@StephanieMiller-r3m allegedly. There are many bugs with armor right now where Ram and Brig can take a full dva bomb and be left with 20 health, so no one really knows why its messing up currently
@@Jacknorringtonthat's a bug with heroes that can have multiple layers of armor. Ram in Nemesis and ult as well as Brig in rally cause armor to apply its damage reduction twice. We know the bug. For example, Soldier was doing 4.5 per shot to Ram in nemesis because the 50% cap was applying twice with 10 damage reduction. Now it should be doing 5.5 damage per shot if it's still not fixed. Once it is fixed it should do 11 per shot

Dva's problem is that she has half a million hp, a " you can't kill me" ability that lasts for 3 seconds, and then a combination with a support that makes her MACH 10 speed that makes her able to fly into the face of a player and just eliminate them from life because of her UNREAL damage. The Juno interaction have got to go, Dva needs to not be unkillable and then she needs to be mid or trash for at LEAST 1 season so people get a break from that horrificly designed character.

I kinda like the mystery update. Locking it to certain classes might help with the unfair teams that happen sometimes, like a bunch of tanks versus a bunch of healers.

@Synthpopper Every time you die, you get a random hero. If you're unable to kill the other team that's full of tanks with a healer that can put them back to full health, you're just going to be fighting the same OP team over and over again. Some people don't exactly like fighting a wall of tanks when the only random heroes you seem to get are healers. Plus, you also got to deal with the tanks Ults since if they don't die they will eventually get their Ult charge while yours gets reset every time.
I really love how the devs went: "We didn't know how to balance Juno properly, so we'll nerf all the tanks instead"'. Great game design.
The majority of this patch pissed me off. They 100% nerfed armor across the board just because of Dva and everyone is going to feel it. All the other characters felt so much better but not too oppressive and it even effects characters like torb and brig will be hurt by it too. Also screw bringing back Hanzo one shot, the lack of one shot did not stop my teammates from picking him every single game so you can't tell me people aren't playing him and it feels like shit to play against when you just walk around a corner and die to a random spam.
Dw it also affects Bastion. So his buffs won't really matter seeing as he will also get melted by coordinated teams. Reaper can already shred him even if he's in turret form.
I had a detailed response as to why you are wrong about the one-shot on hanzo, but then i realized that it doesn't matter what your opinion is, it can't, and won't affect the game.
Thanks for the philosophy lesson. Literally no one enjoys getting random headshot by a Hanzo. So why does their fun get to come at the cost of others? Most of the characters I enjoy took a hit from this patch and half the changes were just totally unnecessary.
