I bought the sport luxury here in Australia. Still waiting for delivery but test drove one last week. ( the first new models just arrived) I’ll admit I’m not a car guy but my neighbour just got a new X3. I was panicking I’d made a mistake but after seeing the new model in the flesh , I have no regrets.
Congras Joe, I’m also in the same boat. I went for a test drive at my local Lexus dealership with the NX 350H and put down my deposit right away. It is definitely a good all rounder. The interior is such a marked improvement from the previous generation of Nx’s. pity on the wait times though, as I was told it’ll be 5 mths give or take…
I currently drive the UX. This new infotainment system on this car is an absolutely much needed improvement. I love the UX it's the best car I've ever had. The comfort is second to none and this NX looks the same. The steering wheels are so comfortable too. Great video Tish thank you
@@apolitis1 will all depend on what boot capacity you need. The UX is tiny in the boot. I've now switched to all electric Audi Q4. I love it! Would recommend electric
Good review as always niece Tish. Here are some things I wanna point out; I call Lexus the king of quality, in terms of materials and reliability. The rear of the Lexus NX has Lexus badging spelt out, which is also present on the new Lexus LX. The PHEV NX is actually the RAV4 Prime underneath, since it gets the same powertrain.
Great video (again). Just selected a Q5 but wish I'd seen this first. The interior of this Lexus is way, way better than the previous gen and, as a package, it is a serious contender. Please keep these videos up. They really are informative and very well put together. Don't think anyone beats you at the moment👍👍👍❤️
No doubt the new NX has great tech but I would suggest you to search ‘Savagegeese Lexus NX’ and watch that video. Your views will change and you will be very happy with the Q5.
I suggest you drive both cars. Both these cars use the same platform but the noise cancelling technology/materials used in Lexus are far superior and well worth the extra money. Drive it, experience it and then decide.
EXCELLENT review- Mine is coming in same color in a month- 6 months wait to get from Japan to Texas. Of course my steering wheel will be on the proper side! Thanks again
I have always thought lexus's were a bit funny looking. But this one looks rather stylish. Much like you Tish in this video. 🙂 The only thing i don't care for are the shiny black plastics. But other then that it looks really nice. Wish I could afford it.
I liked the review, its a nice car. It'd be nice to see some more angles on the cars in future videos, for example there aren't many reviews of this car with the smaller wheels, it would have been nice to see how it sits on them.
That was a really good review. I'm in Australia, so specs are somewhat different. I haven't driven the new NX yet, but am keen to do so. How was the ride with the 18inch wheels, as other reviewers seem to indicate they provided best ride quality?
I'm worried about the HV cable corrosion problem that was included in some class action lawsuits in North America that resulted in huge repairs bills right after the factory warranty expired. When they fix that connector, I'll be interested in Lexus, but this model was included in that lawsuit.
Nice car & video.. Does base mode have any kind of lumbar support..!! I would like to see a driver sided manual seat adjustments and if any kind of lumbar support available..!!
Another belter Tish🙏🙏 A request if possible, I’m looking to change my KIA CEED GT (I’ve finally got the fast car syndrome out of my 75 year system) for either a Lexus es300h or Lexus UX250h, have you reviewed or could you review these cars? That's interesting, I have a Proceed GT shooting brake with the DCT gearbox. I am also considering for my next car something that doesn't directly prioritise performance as the Kia isn't very relaxing to drive quickly! I love the Toyota hybrids especially after I drove a Corolla with the 1.8 hybrid set up. And they really aren't that noisy on hard acceleration, I'm used to a raucous exhaust and minimal sound proofing from both my Kia and my older MX5 so please Tish, let's have a sensible degree of perspective here 🙂 I would consider a Yaris cross, Corolla, Rav 4 and if I could possibly afford it, a Lexus NX 350h like this one. Unfortunately, it would mean sacrificing the MX5 that I've had for 9 years as well as my Kia. Is it worth it?...
A great review of a great car. I like it. But be careful in talking about diesels and referring to them as "stinky old diesels". Many diesels are not so stinky and they are going to be around for a long long time. I have one and I love it ( it's 184bhp, 4wd, can do 50 mpg and has a massive boot ).
I agree with you about that touch screen, Tish. The white display color would give me a headache looking at it. By the way, I love the outfit you wore for this review...smashing, sweetie! (hugs) :)
The almost £500 per year tax bill stops me buying one as to me no car is worth that because it’s to do with being over £40k and nothing to do with co2. I still love it though. For it being bright just turn down the brightness.
The issue is that it’s not a CVT transmission (CVTs literally aren’t gearboxes). This car has an eCVT, which has zero engineering in common with CVTs. It is a planetary gear set. That makes it incredibly simple, while being incredibly reliable. In fact, it’s likely the most reliable type of transmission there is, including the manual.
It will come with the 3 year / 60k mile Lexus manufacturers UK warranty & then after 3 years you can benefit from the Lexus Relax warranty scheme included with a Lexus main dealer service that provides an additional 12 months / 10k miles of extended warranty coverage ( Lexus Relax warranty terms & conditions will apply! )
A great review Tish. The exterior styling is not really to my taste but if I'm driving I'll not be looking at the outside so not a showstopper for me. It does get a lot of standard kit but the model reviewed pops that 40K price and the extra car tax that comes with it. I'll not rule it out of my shortlist when it's time to change though. Prices are increasing as are lead times so we will see.
@@AutoSocialUK Hi Tish, a really good point. I did some digging. The 40K threshold is based on the retail cost of the car before any available discounts, optional extras add to this retail cost so if a standard car retails at say 39K but had 2K options added it will be subject to the extra VED charge.
Nice review; but missing 2 key points. 1) There is no spare tire; Lexus opting for the expensive and controversial run-flat tires. 2) Requires 91-octane premium gas, thereby negating the otherwise substantial savings on fuel cost.
does not require 91 octane. As per owners manual..87 minimum. It's the same 2.5 litre engine in Toyotas , only difference between a Rav 4 Hybrid and an NX350H is the Lexus uses the larger RX electric motor which gives an extra 21 hp equivalent. You can replace the run flats with regular tires . I haven't had a flat tire in 24 years 😆
@@afcgeo882 sure sure. point is the 39K is the headline teaser, put any worthwhile options on there and your deep into 40-50K where this doesn't start to look so clever.
@@alfamonk Except this car comes very well equipped, even at £39k. Yes, if you start to get active on the options sheet, things will escalate, quickly, but that’s true for all luxury cars, isn’t it? Control yourself like an adult and you’ll walk away with a great value.
Much better than the German competition but I think those looking for this type of vehicle might look elsewhere... The Kia/Hyundai offer cheaper alternatives with very good warranty packages.. The Lexus warranty is good but dependant on having 'very' expensive Lexus dealership servicing.. Another better alternative might be the Toyota RAV4 phev... At least you can get a return commute on full electric with that...
The best part of getting a Lexus is the reliability and quality with that super efficient Hybrid electric CVT gearbox. The engine runs at it's most efficient rev range and works with the gearbox to give you power. If you want to learn more about the gear box and how it works look at Weber Autos video th-cam.com/video/O61WihMRdjM/w-d-xo.html One thing you should never do though is be the savourer and try to jump start another car with the Lexus/Toyota hybrids as you can cause some serious damage to the electric system.
