Thank you for making this video. As a person being from St Louis, Larry is a real one. And has helped a lot of other players from St Louis make it into the league.
I liked Larry's game. This is a great video. I think Larry had a lot to offer and I loved his game. Defensively he could guard the 1, 2, and even 3 and was a steals specialist. Offensively, I always hated that, over and over, he ended up on "stacked" guard teams. In an interesting twist he did wonderful in the PG role though I think teams tried to force him to play the 2 when, technically, Stackhouse, MJ, AI, LeBron, and so many others were fighting for that "role" as an iso playmaker. This guy was quick an adaptive and I think coaches should have kept him at the PG/1 as he had great court vision and solid numbers from three. Under the right circumstances he's more in the Steve Nash/GP/Jason Kidd type guard though that is not taking away from any of his other abilities.
Man the craziest part is that you only been on TH-cam with these videos for only 10 months....that's just wild.....i thought you been around longer than that......the GOAT
Good job once again!! Larry was very underrated and deserves to be recognized! Me being from his hometown would like to see one about David Lee now...just a suggestion!
I don't consider anyone a bust who's sitting on top of millions and played alongside A.I., L.B.J., KOBE, M.J., DUNCAN, SHAQ, and wasn't a bad player himself when any team needed him to be!!!
I watch Gilbert Arenas podcast regularly. He always speaks highly of Larry. Often, he says he was so good at defense in practice that it made him better offensively cause who else could guard him any better than Larry. Definitely changed my outlook on him. To me, he was another guy on Brons bus growing up. I'm glad Gil educated me about Hughes being an actual solid person.
Imagine dirk or pierce with Allen iverson… would’ve definitely gotten a ring or 2. But Hughes was always one of my favorite low tier star/ good role player especially during wizard years
Salute to Larry Hughes he was a solid and Versatile Player. that Could Defend positions 1 ta 3, Larry Hughes would catch a body on the dunk side of the game if said player was lacking
Just think of the sixers kept stack House and drafted perice they would have had at least one championship if Iverson wasn't so hard headed and just played as point!!!
I disagree nowhere near a bust. Being 25:46 drafted 10th in the NBA, is like being drafted in the second round in the NFL. More guys miss there than hit and dude played 14 seasons that is nowhere near bust, especially when you consider like 10 of those seasons or digits. Yeah the, Paul Pierce and Dirk Nowitzki thing maybe makes the poke pic not look great but I’m sure they were guys drafted before Larry that weren’t as good.
Got drafted too early abd bybthe wring team. Never had a jumpshot coming into the league. An undersized 2 guard. Jalen Rose uses to eat him alive. The best STL high school basketball ever in my opinion.
I must admit that during his playing career I didn't follow him real hard. I do remember him being a very smooth player who moved effortlessly But I've gotta say this: I've never heard him utter a word or see him being interviewed. It was almost like he was mute.
Dude I absolutely your videos....all of the guys you do are fantastic. Literally have watched them all! If there are any chance for the following it would be amazing: Al Harrington, Gerald Wallace, Josh Smith, Monta Ellis, Jason Kapono, Spencer Hawes, or my top 2(Begging for these 2) Malik Allen or Earl Boykins
Injury prone, and his numbers came on bad teams, generally. He would have made a great 6th man on a good team. The era of crazy contracts. Injuries kill small, speed dependent players, over time.
Martin was HIGHLY over-rated to be a first round pick.Big mouth-TOO. LOL. Fake tough guy, never saw him bust a-GRAPE. LOL. Barkley was a true fighter,so much film footage of him actually fighting people, instead of talking about it.
The whole 2000 draft only has 3 all star selections total nd he’s one of ‘em, u right…he’s a basketball player not a fighter, that’s why theres no footage, charles Barkley never talks about it cuz he’s not a FIGHTING ANALYST, can’t call somebody over who was a big part of helping his team make 2 straight finals
@@AwfulLotOfSmoke Not obsessed, just stating my opinion, which is very low of him as a player-OVER-RATED. The tough guy role was just an illusion, all mouth and a bully.
It is wild to think how he couldn’t get with one of the goats in lebron James. Maybe older James could have worked with hughes but it shows how flawed hughes was. I think he needed a different system to play in maybe faster paced.
I just don’t get drafting a shooting guard after drafting a shooting guard the year before. Sixers historically make mistake after mistake. Penny, Paul Pierce, Tatum, Bridges, Stockton, Porzingis, Giannis, Brunson are all players the Sixers passed on.
Good video but why do you talk in the subjunctive tense instead of the past sense? Like saying he "he would pass the ball to Damon Jones in the corner" instead of just saying "he passed the ball.."
Im an asshole btw I totally forgot you already did the Monta Ellis and Gerald Wallace ones.... that one is 100% on me big dawg....thats my bad!..Long day at work and watching this on the train home......but instead of them......what about an Elton Brand, Brian Westbrook, Ricky Watters, Mike Alstott, Brian Finnerian, Vince Young, Eddie George, Jason Babin, Jevon Kearse, DeMarco Murray, Dion Lewis, Kevin Curtis, Drew Bennett, Corey Simon, Peyton Hillis, Preist Holmes, Jammal Lewis, Steve Mcnair, or Derrick Mason.....sorry for the long lists..... just a 2 hour train ride gives you time to think lol
This video was nice could have been better. Felt like you just rambled off a bunch of stats didn’t really give much context didn’t even go into depth about the brother passing
He was dismal in Cleveland because he had a terrible coach who tried 2 turn him into a simple 3&d player. Mike Brown wasted everybody's time is tenure here.

Larry Hughes was definitely the Fabolous of the NBA😂
Good comparison lots of potential but good enough to be respected
Lmao on god
Played with him at the gym in Gardena by Gardena city hall. He was always pulling nice 15ft jumpers. Like a machine
These are so necessary for the kids growing up being used to crazy numbers. It'll help them realize what a good/great player used to look like!
Facts , best comment
Good job once again!! Larry was very underrated and deserves to be recognized! Me being from his hometown would like to see one about David Lee now...just a suggestion!
Hell yeah. And David Lee was a hell of a shooter imo underrated 🥶🥶

You can absolutely be a bust millionaire. Kwame.... bust
He's not a bust. He had a solid career.
That’s the problem with the NBA. Take enough shots a few will go in and everyone will say you had a solid career
He didn’t live up to expectations. That’s called being a bust
A lot of the old school coaches from that era messed over dudes because they was young and thought they wasn't ready
Larry Hughes was Nice Nice!! If he would’ve stayed in Philly it would’ve been 🔥
Underrated 2 guard. It was so many good wings in the 2000's. We need a Sprewell and Lamar Odom vid
No Odom! A 2 time champion 🏆🥇 💍...
While I would love to see a Odom video, buddy ain’t forgotten
Kirilenko needs a video
He wasn’t a bust solid player and starter

The Wizards were nice at one point. In 2005.
Fam looked out for Gil in Golden State.
Larry Hughes was nice on the wizards.
Imagine dirk or pierce with Allen iverson… would’ve definitely gotten a ring or 2. But Hughes was always one of my favorite low tier star/ good role player especially during wizard years
Need a Josh Smith vid next
Brad Miller very underrated
much respect to you for that one 💯💯He always played hard and I loved that in that era of big men.
Bo Outlaw next please 😊
Larry Hughes had a solid NBA career and he could’ve been a superstar. He is Jayson Tatum’s godfather. Wow! That’s an interesting fact.
No. He could never have been a super star.

He was really never a PG even in college stack should have sucked it up and played but even without stack of they had gotten PP they could have won 1
Larry Hughes 🏀.
RIP to his younger Brother Justin🕊️
Larry solid dude…and he still doing his thing on the local scene in the Lou…teaching the youth a lot of kids come thru the Larry Hughes camp real talk
God, I never knew Larry Hughes played for the Knicks ...that's actually pretty cool info 😄

Terry Cummings Video Would be Nice
Didn't know Larry Hughes played for the Warriors. I only remember his Wizard and Cavs stints.
Just another All Star player who turned into a role player after playing with LeBron
Just another hater trying to feel better about himself.
we need a ricky davis vid next pls
My guy Hughes.... Thought he was gonna be bigger than he became
King Larry. Best to come out the Lou. I seem him live. He couldve made the jump. NO CAP
I remember him and a.i. were the flight brothers... Thought Hughes was goin be tougher than his career showed
Hughes was an underrated baller from me era.
Nice job as always . Do one on

I had higher hopes for him but he was still good
John Drew averaged 20.pts, 1.4.Stl, and 7.Rebs in his 11 year career but cant get an episode. Thats nuts
Respectfully who?
@@Casey-zp9kv there you have it. Say no to drugs
I hated Larry Hughes when he played for the St. Louis Billikens. The UNC Charlotte 49ers couldn't do anything with him in conference USA.

i hope you will make ona about some bih man from 2000s...K-Mart or Okafor
What’s this instrumental ?
I'll never forgive the Sixers for not drafting Paul Pierce. I didn't know enough about Dirk at the time, but that makes it even worse!
He killed my umass minutemen in the tourney. Young me saw superstar potential.
Kenyon Martin Sr, them Nets teams was uptempo as hell nd basically was the suns be4 7 secs or less

Not as bad as when they drafted like 4 centers with lottery picks lol. Luckily Embiid is a MVP level player.
‘damn contract ending. guess I need 3 spg, then to never d-up again’

larry was good for the cavs. the cavs just needed more players. thanks larry from cavs fans

Shots carry through like my homie Larry Hughes
The LeSystem destroyed Larry Hughes career! It was never the same after he requested to be traded away from Cleveland.

This guy is married to my cousin Carrie.
Second best player since Jordan
Larry!
I call B.S with Larry Brown if you wanted Paul Pierce you would have drafted him.
Hughes was nice!
Larry hughes was super nice and a dog on defense. He made 1st team all defense.
Sacrificed his game and career when team up with lbj
Wasn't a bust. Wasn't used properly in Cleveland

Should have stayed with the Wizards 🤷🏾♂️
