- Tonight's episode is a bit different, in that I had it filmed by a crew and edited by a production house, just for a bit of fun...so it might feel a bit unfamiliar, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless...
This one is by popular request, since I'm frequently asked to have a bash at Brew Dog's unlimited wings record, but I thought for the few fans of the @BreakingBeardPod I'd invite co-host and average eater Josh along for the purposes of scientific comparison...
Brew Dog runs an all-you-can-eat wing night every Wednesday and are one of the few places out there that actually maintain a leaderboard for most wings eaten at each of their locations. If you can crack the house record you get a t-shirt and bragging rights, so I thought I'd drop £11 and chance my arm!

Tonight’s is a little bit different, in that I experimented with having it shot and edited by a production house. It’s a one off, so if you don’t like it don’t panic, we’ll be back to the usual formula in the next episode. That said, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this style; whether good, bad or indifferent. It’ll give me some idea of whether to do something similar again in future…
This one is by popular request, since a lot of people have asked me to give Brew Dog’s AYCE wing record a bash for a while now. It’s also by way of a huge thank you to the folks who watch/listen to the podcast too!

So, you did hire someone to do the videos for you, are you going to go back to doing two videos a week? So far you can't seem to get completely away from it? Please keep that up!

This type of editing isn’t bad , but the homemade independent style of your own production makes it feel more unique and welcoming , less generic than this
appreciate the feedback mate, as I say, it's not a permanent change, just nice to experiment now and then :)
It feels a bit less spontaneous if that makes sense, but I do enjoy the more professional feel of the editing
The music choices are weird
I second this. Your style that we all got used to be watching is part of your identity that I personally prefer and enjoy watching.
I think for me it was the empty restaurant and knowing that like 4 people are hovering over him the whole time just made it less fun. Having someone with him was kind of fun, though.
Beard vs. Food vs. Normal Human could be a really fun occasional episode format, it was super fun to see you in contrast to mere mortals. Awesome vid.
Adam's done videos in the past with both his sister and Mrs Beard. I've even saw videos with other "professionals".

I love that Beard beat the record by a landslide and that was him eating casually. If he had really tried, I’m sure he would’ve gotten 80+
fr and he was clowning on his buddy half of the time and showing him the tricks of the trade

You two are obviously good pals! Anyone who can fart, belch, retch, gorge, suffer, joke and laugh, teach, encourage and praise as if nobody else is watching has passed the friendship exam in my book!
This gave me an idea for a series called Beat the Beard, whereby people who fancy themselves against you can propose a food of their choice to eat more of than you, you then go head to head in a "The Chase" style battle 😂

This was a different approach but I like. Mainly because I enjoy seeing you have someone to Interact with. Fun banter and commentary
The fun you two had with each other was great and stands out from the other videos. I personally think that the extra editing helped make it look more fun, but still prefer the more raw footage you typically produce. Your usual format reminds me of when I enjoyed TH-cam more, and the extra editing feels like most of the other content. I liked the idea someone else mentioned of a hot ones type show where you try doing interviews while people stuff themselves.
100% respect your willingness to try something new and it definitely is well made, the editing and production team did a mega job. For me personally, I love how unique and approachable your usual style is. It is a large part of the charm of your videos. So when it comes to me personally, I prefer the classic BeardMeatsFood style that we all know and love, feels like the viewers are welcomed to sit with you rather than in this video it feels like the viewer is a spectator to an event. Choice is ultimately yours and we’ll support you through whatever you’d like to do. Cheers beard!

As many others have said, I have a softspot for the regular video format, but this experiment proves to me that you should definitely also have a produced show going on. I think you two guys have great chemistry, and I would absolutely watch a "Pro vs Noob Competitive Eating" featuring this duo.
Absolutely love this style of videographer shot/edited content.
It's an interesting dilemma and topic of discussion...
On the one hand, your success is deserving of full scale production and it takes the pressure off you having to do everything.
On the other hand, organic Beard content is what we've all come to know and love. You've created and grown a style that is wholly synonymous with who you are and is also of exceptional quality.
It would be a shame to lose the self shot content (which it doesn't seem is on the cards anyway) but would also be nice to see some cinematic/movie style content every now and then.
I mean who doesn't want to kick back with popcorn and watch a feature length of Beard!!!
You won't be selling out if you deliver more production shot content, just do what feels right for you and what you enjoy the most. ❤

I think you've just gone up a level here. Great production, flows well and much more detail makes it more interesting. And partnering up in this format has given it a different dynamic but it's still you and the challenge at the core. Well done! 👏
My boyfriend did the sound for this. And I can’t express how grossly hilarious it was having the sound of Adam & Josh’s internal mouth sounds blaring through our speakers FULL VOLUME whilst mixing… that was a weird few days of my life

I think there is a place for both formats of video.
Whilst I agree that your self made blog style videos feel more wholesome and make me feel more connected (like when you’re travelling in America), I actually felt you were able to relax more not having to worry about production value and saw an even darker and cheekier side where you were able to focus purely on the food and banter.
I actually thought this was the funniest video I’ve ever seen and there is absolutely no disgrace in making it snazzy and changing it up from the English Breakfast selfies.

Be well friend! When I was in hospital for a couple weeks, I could only eat ice chips. I made a huge list of good food to eat when I got out. Smashed half the list out before my standard appetite came back.

I know how that goes man. A good book that helped me get through my roughest spot in my life was A Guide to the Good Life by William B Irvine. It changed my life and I recommend it with every fiber of my being. The audio book is great!

Your typical videos are more food-based. This one was more of a buddy video with food. Super fun to watch. Maybe a mixture of the new and the old just to keep things fresh. Well done mate!

This format with the two of you and the film crew/production seems like I'm watching a show on TV. Great banter and really cool to see the comparison of you eating vs. a more average person is a really cool format. Seems like a pilot for a network (in the U.S. at least).

I think they did a great job, but I also feel like what they did was overkill. From the music, to constantly changing camera angles. Your home feel videos just have something to them we love. Plus, it’s saving you money doing it yourself. That’s a win win!

I’d love to see you challenge other all you can eat challenges and really push for it. Would be cool to see how you would do in them when you’re trying for real.
I am diggin' the "Beard vs normal human" concept! Those wings look yummy, but I typically prefer them without breading and sauced up (AKA "swimming", as my favorite local wing spot denotes their extra sauce). Also, the editors missed an opportunity to add "Bite!" after the "Round 1 (2, 3 etc.)" that they did in a Mortal-Kombat-esque way. Cheers Beard!

The back and forth & the vs. element are great additions to the beard library. While I do prefer the self shot ramblings, this more produced style isn't a bad thing. So long as we still get some solo vids as well, I'm here for it. Thanks Beard!

I like the psychology of leaving the bones on the table, they remind you how much you've eaten so you'll feel more full.

I really like the new editing style and format of the videos! I’ve never once watched your videos for a bit of humor, just curiosity, but with this video I found myself laughing quite a few times! Either way you choose to continue I’ll still be supporting and being a fan! Btw I watched your latest fish n chips challenge today and it inspired me to order that for lunch! I was only able to take down 3 along with about 1/2 the order of chips😅

This is one of my favorite episodes. Reminds me when I ate 21 pieces of chicken and no legs included plus 10 ears of corn and 8 bisquits with a gallon on sweet tea in an hour.

If this new record of 70 is beaten, there's another video in it, Beard looked like he barely got out of third gear on this challenge. On his own, I think 100 is possible.
