Honestly, the way Genji is designed in Overwatch, (even in the current state of the game) this character is genuinely DEADLY in the right hands. You have to be a master of every skill, (mechanics, positioning, timing, knowledge, etc.) in order to play him properly, and it's very easy to tell apart a good Genji player from a bad Genji player, and that's the beauty of this character.
There’s a reason Genji players have stuck around since launch. The character is a master class in hero design. Hoping to hit masters this year with enough time & practice
The biggest thing i struggle with as genji is tracking my aim up close. if i had a dollar every time i choked a kill because i missed all my secondry fires i would be rich
Been one tricking genji for about 400hrs and finally hit plat for the first time. Hoping to hit diamond by the end of 2025, feeling kinda burnt out rn and playing really bad idk why I’m playing so bad but I am HELP lol.
You literally answered your own question lol, just take a break, come back with a fresh mind, rewatch this video to find something to work on and go hard on the ladder!
if that didn't work, maybe you didn't take a proper break, where you only come back when your interest in the game is renewed. You could also try watching stuff that inspires you to play the game (in my case, making this video made me want to jump into ranked). If nothing else works, you should try coaching, which I can provide =)
genji is the only charterer where i feel like my aim is horrible like i could be behind someone and miss like 3 fans its very embarrassing. its like the speed of the projectile the speed of fans and the spread ruin me lol
I feel you! A lot of this comes down to practice, but patience also plays a huge part in this, as your opponents aren't aware of you in that situation!
Hello I've started playing in October 2023 and I was a soldier reaper widow main at the start and since then I've been getting weird acceleration even with all the usual tweaks nothing works, I've done researches and found alot of people have been getting the same issue and it's only specific to overwatch
Tracking is jittery no matter the sensitivity, windows mouse speed, dpi, resolution or fov, and it's weirdly affected by polling rate in a sense that the lower the polling rate the more it sticks and becomes gradually stable but no fully and also the lower the framerate you get it's very strange phenomenon
@HarmlessPoke I agree but it sucks he never gets attention for 2 years. They said they'll nerf blade and put power in base kit, never did. Also he's enabled by meta heroes like Juno Mauga recently so they never look at him cuz of winrate. Also didn't give him 28 dmg even in 6v6 patch :( I only play 6v6 now cuz I can kill tanks like monkey and not just run away
@@rogue4340 I agree with the 6v6 part, and yeah, what they did early on in OW2 to him was dirty, but honestly the S9 changes (especially the projectile size increase) made his base kit MUCH better, and even to an extent blade, although that's a hot take lol
@@HarmlessPoke I can see your reason behind it tho, Dps passive helps his low dmg alot &they gave him more swings but I liked it more when it was slash-dash mini game which had Higher skill ceiling .
No but why are u hacking and at the same time present yourself as a top100 genji main AND COACH???? The first Shambali clip starting at 0:21 is sus af. wtf.
When I first got the notification for this comment, I was gonna make a joke with the accusation (taking it as a compliment) as I haven't been hackusated in years lol. After watching the clip, I can actually understand where you are coming from, although it would be extremely stupid for a cheater to be that blatant. I play this game on >180ms, and when you view a player on that ping in a replay of any sort (kill cam or actual replay code) you see the result of the game doing its best to combine the client side and server side, resulting in some weird stuff that would never happen on LAN. A great example I can give is blading, as when I get the final swing for a kill, I need to wait for the game to register it, which gives me a small window of time to flick away from the target and towards where I want to actually go, then hold shift to buffer the skill (so it goes off the moment the server registers the kill). This is NOT possible on low latency as the game would have registered the swing kill immediately, which means that when you watch the replay code (which is what I used for the video most of the time) the game will show me doing a 1 frame flick, which is NOT what actually happened on my screen. That explains some of the stuff that could get me hackusated, but not YOUR claim tho, which is related to something else: packet loss. The moments where my information isn't actually sent to the server cause the same behaviour, with the result being an instant flick (or, at least, that's what I believe causes these flicks that you mentioned)
This guide is so simple. Perfect. This is a blueprint to winning.
That's what I was aiming for!
This is the PEAK Genji Tutorial. I will now go become a top 500 Genji with this ancient wisdom.
Good luck!

He is honestly one of the best character designs I have ever seen in gaming as a whole, I love him so much
@@HarmlessPoke So true, he will always have a special place in my heart. (corny as heck but I mean it lol)

You got this!
this channel has actually useful guides
Educational Genji content is rare nowadays!
Man thanks for the guide i always feel useless or just straight up feeding when i play genji.
That should change soon!
Insane guide, really informative but also really funny when it's appropriate. Keep it up!
I'm glad the jokes landed!
The biggest thing i struggle with as genji is tracking my aim up close. if i had a dollar every time i choked a kill because i missed all my secondry fires i would be rich
If that's the case, do some focused practice to work on that problem! Deathmatch type modes are your best friend when it comes to mechanics ;)
@HarmlessPoke ight thanks for the tip bro
ah yes, the days when genjis blade was a powerful katana...
It still is! Just not as flashy anymore...
i gotta say, genjis look real dumb when they dash to engage and just hope that holding S + deflect can bail them out if they dont get a kill
Depends on how close they are to safety

what exactly do you mean by "weird acceleration"?
@HarmlessPoke I mean when you're holding your mouse in your neutral position flick like maybe 10 times the crosshair never ends in the same spot
@@MudAim9 Never heard of that, sorry.
The start sounds like it could be mouse acceleration, but that can't be the case...
A select few players had the same problem on multiple forums and were forced to stop playing since nothing can fix it @@HarmlessPoke
Nice video and bro poke glow up
I just need 28 dmg shurikens but blizzard never buffs him 😅
I feel you, but Genji's in a pretty good state right now! Skill curve feels very rewarding too imo.
