Block and Hand Printing - Varanasi

Block Printing is one of the traditional techniques of press printing with fabulous colours followed by the societies of the city Varanasi. Wood block printing is a technique that is used for printing text, images or patterns which are widely in demand, this technique is very prevalent in the European part of the world and majorly determined by India. This technique is used to print on cloth with the help of a wooden block. The printing of fabrics with hand blocks is fundamentally similar to the use of a rubber stamp and an ink pad.

A saree that we use daily has contribution from many people. Gr8 to know that and a big thanks to those crew who give us saree in multiple designs nd colours. Also, thanks to the team who brought this function to light so that others with be aware of the hard work behind the art!
My suggestion - the work members cud use atleast a thin hand gloves while painting/dyeing

Great visual documentary, indigenous craftspeople and craftsmanship is a fascination subject. Is that a single sari to wear or would a woman cut up that material and make many from the one piece of fabric? Does anyone familiar with India know the answer?
