These were all very nice! Many would make nice little wall hangings, and I think making some into throw pillows would certainly brighten up a sun room, or any room really. A nice quilt would also be really cool.
Oh! It is so beautiful and very very fantastic. Pls may I know whether you used batik colors , fabric colors. Ps explain to me. I wish you all the-best and may have courage to go ahead with god’s blessings.👍
It's great that u can made Batik too like us in Indonesia.. Beautiful... I appreciateit if u can explain too to your students where u study it and where history batik cames from... 👍.. Regards from 🇮🇩
Fantastic! I have learned to do batik painting, but it was different from this. We drew the pattern with pencil and carbon, then used paint brush of different thickness, then cracked the cloth, then made dyes using different colours and salts and then washed the completed work with hot water. But this one seems easier and more interesting!
There are a number of tie dye channels that talk about how to mix dyes and use them. That info would translate to this method. I'd say soak the fabric in water with soda ash, then squeeze it out until it's just damp, then let it dry (though it looks like they might be adding the ash directly to the dye here). Stretch the fabric, outline with wax, then use the dye. The soda ash acts as a binder that helps the dye bind to the fabric. Fun Endeavors is a great channel with good info; she has beginner videos that teach you about dyes from the ground up. :)
This was a FANTASTIC video... I now want to COME to one of these workshops!!!! I do have a question though....After boiling it in hot water (which was not shown) I then saw 4 or 5 white buckets of water, was that cold water? or ...? Thank you so much!
Hi, is just so beautiful what you do. Thanks for sharing. I would like to know which colors I mean, natural, synthetci, which brand do you use and if you use any fixation material. Or the color already has its natural fixation component. Thanks so much.
Scorching dub reggae tunes. Respect. Great rhythms for applying the wax to the fabric. Irie vibes. Let Jah be praised !
I loved your workshop when I was there a few years back. These pieces I have are a fond reminder of my trip and the beautiful culture of Barbados.
