When you talked about the expression hit the books, I immediately remember my daughter who's always hitting the books, especially now that she's studying for the final exams of the first year of Chemistry -at the university... I'm very fond of idioms and puns😊
Thank you for giving us these idioms and explanation. They are very useful for everyday life. For me It's time to hit the road. I'm going to visit my son to US. Your videos helps me a lot to improve my understanding and to be understood. Thank you teacher Mike
I was about to hit the hay when I saw the notification for this amazing lesson. My favorite ones are: hit the books/ hit the road. And I need to watch the video again to remember the others 😊
A very informative and interesting video! I wish I could hit million likes because you deserve them! Most of these expressions are newto me. Thanks for sharing, Teacher Mike 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Thanks a lot for so many very interesting and useful idioms in this really amazing lesson! I knew before only a half of these idioms, so I’m glad to learn others thanks to Your new precious video, Teacher!
Almost all of these idioms were new for me. I've heard only about "hit the road", but I didn't know its meaning. I'm going to write them down on my flashcards. Thank you for this lesson! 💙
@@TeacherMikeEnglish Yes, I find this method very useful. I remember new words and sentences faster. I started making them after reading your ebooks. I'm only afraid of changing my phone to English, because I'm not sure if I can manage. 💙
These idioms are more or less difficult, but they are very interesting. I don’t know most of them, even though I’ve listened to this lesson many times. Thank you so much, Mike.❤
The only new one to me was "hit it off" or at least I didn't remember it, because it's so ambiguous and counter-intuitive. 🤔 Thanks for this comprehensive lesson! 👍
Shooting darts at a target is "hit and miss" in the sense that if you shoot then you will likely get both " hits and misses. For any given dart, it is a "hit-or- miss" matter.🙏
Thanks Mike, I actually didn't know any of these 10 idioms, I'll try to use some of them. For example: Sometimes when I take care of my granddaughter, I get so tired that I hit the sack very early.
When Tom and Sarah met for the very first time, they hit it off. After they went on a date, he thought to himself that he had hit the jackpot. Adam went to a hit or miss restaurant because he loves its vibes. He was satisfied after finishing his meal, which hit the spot. Emma hit a nerve by making a comment about her colleague's appearance.
It hit a nerve: It means when you say something, and somebody reacts strongly (gets angry or upset) because they are clearly sensitive about that issue. 😊 You make a joke suggesting that one of your friends still loves her ex-boyfriend. That hit a nerve. She felt uncomfortable and angry with you. 😢
"Despite their significant age difference, the mentor and mentee hit it off, leading to a fruitful and inspiring relationship."😊😊❤
