Brilliant Track Guide. I've tried dozens and none came to your guide. I love the overhead view as well. I've subscribed to your channel to learn so much more about ACC with all your guides. Many thanks for all the effort you (and Leo) put into Monza. I've lots to learn, practice, and hopefully improve down the road 😉
Thanks so much mate, had a lot of fun helping with this! Car felt so on point it was a joy to push, so gotta give yourself credit for a lot of this. Definitely still over 2 tenths in it to gain on a perfect lap as well, Macca is no slouch around here
Not sure about other noobish sim racers but I never watch just one track guide. In fact, I watch all those published by the best know channels. In my opinion, you find the perfect balance between detail and full speed, in car views and overheads - much appreciated replays and reviews of tough spots but without tiring repetitiveness. I don't often comment on TH-cam videos but you deserve applause! Well done!
I get that it keeps people entertained with the draft and things but the amount of 10 hour enduros that end on lap 1 is insane! all that prep just to end!
Very nice way of explaining a track !👌 I'm a beginner and until now, still something like five seconds off from other players best lap times, probably because of my inferior hardware.(At least that's what I hope it is !!!???😁(I have an ancient "Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP" (just from within this century); it has some feedback, but I think/hope the biggest issue is that it can only turn 90 degrees each way, which makes it almost impossible to catch any unsettlements; at least in my hands. As a result, I can only drive Safe setups and even then don't take it to the edge. (Even now I have something like 50 hours in ACC and did something like 4 hours on the Monza track. I think the sections where you have fast, adjacent corners like the Ascari complex (or Maggotts, Becketts, Chapel on Solverstone) are where I loose most time.) But then again, I've seen others play on controllers, which goes beyond my imagination in relation to being quick; yet, in many cases they are though. (Respect !) Anyway, the combined limitations of me and my hardware also kept me from playing in online/multiplayer thus far (I just don't want to spoil other players fun), so instead I just race against AI (meanwhile got to 93% with 100% aggression), but some say "that's not very useful or not very realistic", because AI is predictable, where human players aren't. => What do you think ? Thanks again for this very nice track guide !👍
Get yourself to a baseline on hardware, I had nothing special, G920, that's all. The best investment you can make into yourself in sim racing is coaching and some sort of structure to 'training'. Hardware is 0.5% of the challenge.
Fantastic video & commentary, a BIG help for everyone I'm sure but especially us less experienced types! Some questions please; going to SETSBASE to buy this setup but it has a "Sold Out" message? If that can be rectified can I also ask are the setups suitable for version 1.9.4 and console?
Thanks very much for the vid. More detailed than most so just what I’m looking for. Got a 1.48.6 in qualifying in public server yesterday SA65 I started 12th! Still have problems around Ascari find that gutter won’t let me go and drags me into the wall. Thanks again. Subbed and liked.
My PB for the longest time was a 48.666 😂, which part of ascari are you referring to? You are right though, I find that’s the most critical sequence to get right in the mclaren.
@@jakewilliams2784 I refer to the gutter he hooks his front right tyre into, if I do that I have to flick the steering to the left to ‘free’ it. Otherwise it’s the wall on the right. I try to clip the humps to the right of the gutter, that seems to work better for me. But I’m always open to new ideas.
@@99chrisbling as soon as I asked I realised it was a silly question and was obvious which one you meant lol, I find the mclaren hates this chicane regardless, if you push the car into slight understeer just before and in the gutter then the final transition from right to left is a lot easier.. not sure if that makes, but I know exactly what you mean about the gutter. Basically try and pitch the car onto the rear axle bit more so the front isn’t so grabby.. I usually get killed by the final left kerb anyway 😂
Excellent guide Mat. I am puzzled how to get faster on here, to me my laps seem really smooth but i'm struggling to go under 1.50 in just about every car. I can do 1.49's just, but cant see where this extra 2/3 secs would come from. I did have the wrong FOV settings which I have since changed and it did feel a little better, maybe once i'm used to this new setting they may come down a tad. Anyway excellent guide mate and thanks Leo.
Hey James - happy to look at a lap to try and investigate a little further if you want? There's honestly a brutal amount of time in each corner here which is exaggerated by the low downforce setups, it's really about getting that traction down cleanly with some straighter steering.
@@Zermatt1 I'll take you up on that mate, that would be great. I will record a lap and come find you. I'm inexperienced and i factor that in, that said, im sure I just need someone to point a few obvious things out. Thanks again buddy, appreciated. PS. The overhead views you jump to in the guide is a massive help.
Great content! do you recommend using Cockpit camera so you can actually see your ingame wheel inputs? or dashcam ? Just your personal preference if i may ask
Hey! Honestly, personal preference, I know a lot of people who move the camera closer / have it just on the dash - really it's what you feel comfortable in and most importantly ENJOY driving in.... :)
probably a dumb question but I can't find the answer online anywhere. Why does his brake meter not ever flash orange when ABS kicks in? I find it hard to believe he judged the braking absolutely perfectly to 100% for every single corner without any ABS ever kicking in at all
I use his too and cant get lower than 1.51 or 1.50.9. Also his setup is too sensitive, anything wrong or early brake or gas just spins the car even catching little bit of curb throws it off.
Impressive driving. I must admit I always wonder how they do the late braking and early on full power again. If I do that I'll overshoot the corner or lose the back. Let's try out the tips though.
All about how you come off the brake, it’s counter intuitive to hold the brake longer but less to increase turn in. Getting on throttle early is all about having your steering go back to neutral faster than you probbaly are
Stellar track guide. Commentary is A+, as is the driving, and multiple angles and replays. Thanks
Much appreciated!

Legend!
hey man is it possible to get the setup of a car? I would like to get inspiration from it :).

Hi! This is a really kind comment, thank you!
Me, feeling really fast with my McLaren on monza at 1:56.
Looks up a hotlap video: 1:46
gotta uninstall ACC now.
this track is so loved in endu bc it is basically a straight with a few chicanes and corners
I get that it keeps people entertained with the draft and things but the amount of 10 hour enduros that end on lap 1 is insane! all that prep just to end!

Hi! Not selling the setups any further..I would suggest you head to Hymo discord.
@@Zermatt1 Cheers mate, am pretty sure their setups are PC only (am on XBOX currently) but will double check.
For years I’ve not been able to take that first chicane properly.

Awesome, good luck on your journey! Hope some of the guides will help out.

It won't show up in replay
Yeah this is correct, the brake definitely does flash ABS.
Parabolica? Diabolica more like 🤣
Too late !! Is possible Imola before 12 of next month for Time Attack Italia race round 3, tks
There's already an Imola Track guide... Get yourself on the playlist :)
Nice👍
What BOP is this run on?
Will be 2020 the latest one when the vid was released in May. Can't remember the exact release.
