I have an electrolux versatility. The wand lost suction until I took it to a local vacuum repair and paid 70$ to fix it. With very very limited use over the course of a year I have the same problem. I checked the hose as your website suggested (good suggestion), no rips. I used to be able to press the foot release and tilt the unit back, put the wand back in and so forth and suction would improve. Now nothing, the carpet/ floor vacuum function works great as it always has. The wand not so much.
Hi Juxtn, I have not been able to identify this model on our system under the series name. Most upright and hose cleaners either draw the air through the hose all the time and connect the hose to the roller chamber to draw the debris away, or they divert the suction from the roller chamber to the hose when the machine is in the upright position. If it cleans OK when using on upright and when 'parked' the motor noise increases then you definitely have a blockage. Check the air flow by covering the end of the hose with your hand and recheck all air ways back to the canister.
I've bought 2 versatility models and the same has happened to both. The place where the hose attaches to the body has no suction and seems to have some sort of moving piece that gets jammed, rendering the attachments useless. This is terrible for me as a multi pet owner. I can never get my house clean enough anymore. I just don't currently have money to purchase yet another vacuum. I loved this vacuum and chalked it up to my falling when the first one went out. Not so much with the second, which I've treated like a baby.
+Jane Does What is likely to have happened is a piece of paper or small object has stuck in one of the pipes and then other debris like pet hair catches and blocks. If the motor runs without labouring when the bag cover is open then you know this has happened. Work from the pipe from the bag back towards the 'tool' end gradually refitting the parts until the cleaner struggles to run freely and you will identify where the problem is.
Both the spinning brush attachment and the dirt catcher are the exact same and in the same placment as on the 80 bisselle that I got at walmart 3 years ago. Lol. They must be affiliated.
My vitesse electrolux light blue 1500w I'd started to make a loud noise any ideas why? The nose is a louder noise of what noise it makes already if you get me
Hi SuperPhilcool, hopefully, it is just something you picked causing the noise so check the brush roll first but if there is nothing inside you will have to check the motor.
@@eSpares I've had all the front off leaving the motor attached to the upright bit and it still makes the same noise but now resembled the noise is probably a decibel or two lower lol so I guess its motor related probably a bearing maybe.. idk so think il just invest in a good old indestructible Henry hoover lol thanks!
Hi Wanda, on models like this one the hose and 'wand' work as soon as they are lifted off the machine if it is switched on. If there is no suction follow the video to identify the problem.
we have bought 2 Electrolux canister vacuums and have had terrible problems with both. 1st off they break down and it cost over 300.00 to replace the circuit boards. Now the 2nd vacuum the power head just shuts off while using which apparently the only way to check them is to replace the boards. 300.00 more dollars? Throw them out buy new Kenmores better vacuum as the parts are cheaper.
Hi Edward, if the cleaners are the same model you should at least be able to identify the faulty parts by swapping between machines. Unfortunately if you are on the American Continent we are not able to supply the electrical parts you require.
this video was very help despite me having a bagless Eureka ... I was able to restore the suction in my vacuum.. thanks again
Thanks for the video, your suggestions helped me to find the problem
I love this young lady's accent...my grandmother was from Glasgow and she sounded very much the same. =)
Great info! All is well, so my problem is in the motor. Bummer. However, I am gonna try to fix myself. Thanks very much!
You're welcome!
