Hi Peter, I have a few practical tips for you when you clerk patients. First, smile at them when you enter the room-not before but when you meet their eyes. After that, scan them with your eyes: their posture, their attitude, their eye colour, basically everything your eyes can see, (do it discreetly and not in a weird way). After that, in a very natural way, ask them how they are, if they have kids or pets-and get that part out-it helps you and your patient relax. Then start the medical questions. Start with open-ended questions, work through it and end with close-ended, specific questions. In practice, patients say a lot of things that may seem unrelated, but try and focus, listen to them, and you may pick up a few clues. Hope this helps. If you must check your phone or laptop to aid your knowledge, do it discreetly as well- its not bad to check up certain terms when a patient says something you dont remember. DO IT DISCREETLY. Hope this helps...again.

I'm freaking out and feel like crying because i haven't been scoring great on the practice tests, and it is making me feel dumb and stupid. I really love watching your videos and I always tell you about my achievements but this time failure was my friend I couldn't get a high grade in my high school graduation but now after a lot of sadness I have accepted that I won't say my next goal because I noticed that my dreams have changed a lot so I wish me and you and all of you a happy life and that you achieve everything you wish for
I go to engineering school and somehow l always end up watching med school videos. Medschool requires a lot of memorizing stuff whereas engineering school requires understanding and analysis. Both are extremely stressful, and l have cried the most after starting my engineering degree. Sometimes l wonder if l am going to pass all my courses, most of the time l don't even have the motivation to continue(even tho its my first year lmao). But seeing your video, it just boosted my motivation, now l am off to study!!!
