A true Kiwi legend thanks for sharing your story
Really enjoyed this. Erin was my hero when I used to do triathlon in ChCh in the 80s. I loved that you could sometimes come across such a legend by chance when training. Once I actually passed her going up a hill in a short-course in Lyttelton (she must have been having technical issues with her bike). It was a nice day, and so I said something "nice day". Later, on another hill, she of course passed me and she looked over, really mad, and said in a snarky voice "nice day", and then took off like a rocket. :-) So my biggest claim to sporting fame was getting my arse handed to me by Erin Baker. lol

Indeed. Those who know the sport, know of her. Her plaques in the winners circle in Penticton are a reminder of that.

Always love watching Erin winning so many many races I stopped counting. Made me so proud of her ability to beat the best and for so so long. You definitely are a champion and the best.
