I love these videos about Whelping. Very informative and helpful. I’ve watching the one with the live whelping and the videos of that litter growing each week. It’s very helpful to see what your routine is with litters.
Edit to add: I am now actually watching the video lol, and I’m so excited you will be doing a series again on this litter and the process. Again, it’s super helpful to have this information out there. Thank you!
Super excited for the next “whelp-a-long”! As someone who is an aspiring dog breeder (I have a 15-20 year plan to learn as much as possible about pedigrees, training, whelping, breeding; raising a litter and all that important stuff) I find your videos very helpful and informative!
Thank you so very much for putting your love and info out to us! I cant express enough my gratitude...what a awesome gift youve given! Shalom
Thank you so much for your positive feedback! We truly appreciate you being a fan of our content!
What an experience. I didn’t know if I wanted to watch this but I am so glad that did. The nurse/trainer was so helpful n the process. Wow. Carry on the good work. Thanks.
Excellent information. Thank you so much for sharing.
Looking forward to the next update on Piper!
Love the welping facility!
Super important info on here. Really appreciate it. I’ve had my scan, looks like I’m going to be having a big litter.
This is amazing! Thank you
Im very thankful for this video its very helpful
Kat I love your whelping setup. It’s my dream to build something like that for my labradors.
Great video! Thank you!
Thanks a lot for this very informative video about preparing a litter! Greetings from Bavaria South Germany. I appreciate your channel and work /dogtraining a lot 👍
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Great video.
I love your welping videos!!!!
Thank you so much for being a fan!!
I really liked it thank you
Kat- you rock! Love your videos on whelping- so very helpful. Thank you for creating this awesome puppy tracking form. I just ordered it in your website. My girl will be delivering her pups in a few weeks. First time for the both of us! Yikes!
You are so welcome! Good luck with your litter!!
Heyy!!! I absolutely love your videos! I have a question, you said in this video that you initially saw 5 puppies which led you to believe you were having a large litter? We saw five pups in my labs 30 day scan. Does this mean we should expect a large litter or did you mean you were expecting a small litter? Because 5 pups for labs and pointers is a small litter isn't it? Xx thanks for all the great advice
Watching your videos to get prepared for my aussie collie to have her first labor. Worried cause the dad is an english bulldog. Should i have a c-section?
What nest do you use and we’re can l get it
Do u have a link to ur box
My phone listen to me, just few mins ago I told my dog to let me know when she ready have her puppies...
Lol
Great video. If 63 days is typical, how many days of gestation is getting too late?
We've never had a female go past 63 days gestation from their ovulation wave. However, if you don't pull progesterone you may not know their exact 63 day whelp date. I would reach out to your vet for further advice!
@@StandingStoneKennels Thankyou, I have found a "reproductive" vet, and we'll stick close to them until I get more experience. Thanks for what you do!
Hi Kat. I've enjoyed watching a number of your videos on whelping pups - very helpful indeed. Our Dutch Malinois (2.5 years old), first and only litter, delivered FIFTEEN healthy pups...OMG. Thanks to you I was aware of the Esbilac replacement formula - we went through a large can every day for a while. This was a planned breeding and homes for a "normal" litter were pre-arranged prior to mating. Sadly, we still need homes for 8 of the little darlings. Any suggestions?
Thanks for watching!
What if the dog was dumped and just had a litter??
hose are also some bid puppies you have there
Do you have a recommendation in terms of the tools (scale, nest) if we are not breeders. It will be our first time and our last so I don’t want to buy a nest that costs $300. Or a scale I won’t ever use again. Thank your for this series.
As a breeder I understand how expensive having all of the supplies and things can be. In the beginning you will definitely need a heat source for your puppies. People have used heat lamps in the past. I don't prefer those due to them being hard to monitor temps, overheating the momma dog and also if they fell the potential safety issues of burning a puppy or burning down your house! Human heating pads only stay on for so long and again aren't great for temp regulation. The whelping nest doesn't actually feel warm to the touch because they are basically set to our body temp (94-98 degrees f). Sorry I can't help more with an alternative to a whelping nest, they really are the best thing out there for whelping puppies. As for a scale, you can absolutely use a kitchen scale in the beginning stages when accurate weight gains/losses are very important to track! Hope this helps!
