Thank you for posting, it was a huge help. Our litter came yesterday and our dog was constantly laying on top of the pups. We were using a pool and I was able to build this in a half hour. It was so much safer.
Thank you for this video! I just bought all the materials and it costed me $56 which I consider a very good price compared to what I’ve seen to buy a welping box online! Ty for saving me $$
I followed your plan step by step, it works perfect. I built it for corgis if that helps anyones size comparison for their breed of dog. Thanks my friend. Good video. Let me add that i lowered the door for my corgi, we all know they have short legs. Lol
Thanks for this video it was 100% better and less complicated than my original design. Ran to Home Depot they cut the plywood for me came home put it together looks sweet I’m gonna paint it STEELERS COLORS✊🏿
If mom isn't too rough half inch should still be ok. Doesn't hurt to bump it up a little to 5/8. Or just put a rail at the top early for extra support.
Very nice! Momma dog showing up at the end of the video to test drive the finished product is a very nice touch. Looks like she approved your work of art. Why a rounded bottom door and not a straight edged door?
Is the rail around the inside necessary for the box to stay together? Hoping to follow your tutorial (it's so great!) to make a box for foster kittens, so there isn't any of that same concern re a mom squishing puppies!

Awesome instructions! Worked perfect and super easy! Thanks a lot!
Followed your tutorial and was able to build this by myself! It was so simple and easy to follow!
Thank you for the detailed video! I just went to Home Depot today to get all the materials. Our Yorkie is expecting in 2 weeks time…

Thanks...great video..I just made adjustments to the bottom 2x4's to give pups a little more room
This is perfect I am going to do this this weekend for my new Corso pups ..I'm going to see if home Depot will cut everything for me 😂
Very helpful. I hope you get more views and subs.

Thank you for the video and your knowledge!!
Just build mine thanks for the easy instructions

What thickness would you use for a 115lb xl bully pups? Great tutorial tho, from England 🇬🇧 👍🏽👌🏽

Thanks bro! 30 minutes and 60 bucks 👍👊

Why a rounded bottom door and not a straight edged door?
I like that the rounded door has no corner to pinch pups. Plus it seems to line up better that way.
Is the rail around the inside necessary for the box to stay together? Hoping to follow your tutorial (it's so great!) to make a box for foster kittens, so there isn't any of that same concern re a mom squishing puppies!
The rail shouldn't be required for the box to stay together although it dose make it more sturdy.
Thank you so much for the video.
Came out great made it friday
dude that bowl situation took me out
😂😂 same here , I was like well that’s smart as shit lol
Thx for the video! I'll save $200+ by DIY. Breeding my 5yr old Black Lab for the fist time this winter.
Did she ever find that bowl is what I want to know. Thanks for the easy to understand video.
It was lost to the box of unused wedding gifts in the basement just like the ark at the end of Indiana Jones
Definitely will be building this soon
On the 2x4's how long should they be?
The easiest way to build. For those that can do that oval on the door I did a square one worked just find👍💪
Thanks bro! Very easy
How much did this run you with everything included? Wood, screws, etc
probably $60 but it is very dependent on wood prices at the time.
Did you build a bottom for them?
Plywood underneath with sheets, paper or woodchips. Sod if your feeling fancy - its a LOT of work.
well explained thank you!
Legend has it she's still searching for the bowl to this day 🤣
Is this whelping box big enough for a 95 pound Labrador Retriever?
Might be a little tight for that. Same principals apply to a larger box.
What is the total size of this after completing?
3x5
Is that 3/4" plywood?
1/2"
What type of dog do you have?
Vizsla/GSP
What thickness is your plywood?
1/2 inch
How much does all of this cost
$60-80
exactly what i built years ago, except i used oak plywood, and the box is 4 x 6 foot, my mommas and puppies need room
shorthair or PP?
Vizsla GSP cross
today work for my daughter
I put the bottom 2x4's on edge to give the puppies more room not to be suffocated
Good point. I usually double them up around week 2 for the same effect.
The Bowl lol hahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahaha
How long are your 2X4s
I use 8ft 2x4s. Cut measurements are in the video.
No I haven’t seen your bowl 🤥
🤣🤣🤣 nope, I haven't seen the bowl.
Dude how does 56” sit inside a 48”? You should proof your YT videos before posting. Bad job
Watch the video again.
U KNOW BY USING THE 2X4 INSIDE THEY WILL CHEW IT & GET SPLINTERS. I WOULD BUILD THAT ON THE OUTSIDE
I've never had that problem and getting squished by mom is a much bigger risk which is why they're in there.
