i think it is safe to say most of us are pretty happy with your "just right length of time" warm ups!! Personally, I stretch out my problem areas prior... 'cause they are my problem areas lol. Then I move on to the "just right length of time" appropriately more generic Tracy Steen warm up!
Proud of you Tracy for accepting constructive criticism. Bravo!! I love your workout and you have become my go to. Not many over 50 TH-camrs out there. I especially enjoy your thoughts on mental health and our overall health. It’s 3 fold mind, body and spirit.
@@JustinaErcole everyone's entitled to their own opinions, but I would love to know the reason why you didn't like the warm-up. You don't say any specifics, you just say it sucked. Just curious from someone who has been doing Tracy's workouts for over 3 years.
I just have to say that what you said in the beginning of this video resonates with me. When people ask me why I workout and I say to maintain my independence and my health. People seek the aesthetic answer though like I want abs or large muscles. My mom broke her hip a little over a week ago. It was a small fall but it caused a big break. My mom isn't even 70 yet. I dont want this to be me when I get to her age. That boring answer for health is the truth for me why I workout. My mom is okay and recovering well from surgery she is still able to walk and get around just needs help now.
Yes!!! My dad is 84 - I live in Australia and he lives in the uk and I noticed when we visited in 2022 (after not seeing him for 3 years over Covid) how much muscle mass he has lost, and his balance and stability have been affected. Definitely don’t want that to happen to me so even though I look bigger with strength training (have improved my muscular strength) I’m fine with that as I feel so much healthier! Hope your mum recovers quickly and recovers well.
Thank you for doing this series! I’ve been looking at different workouts based on your positive reviews and the educational content you’ve focused on for each of the days/trainers. Merry Christmas to you!
Thank you for doing this series! Been winding down every night with your videos. Really appreciate the effort you put into finding different educational topics, that must not have been easy. I have learnt so much from you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
I agree with everything you said about enjoyment in fitness and working out, I wasted years of my life focusing on the aesthethic results. This is the type of workout I'm gravitating towards these days, and I have to say I vibe with the calm talks to you like normal person coaching vibe. Your channel is great Justina, this series was fun and educational keep up the good work and have a wonderful Holiday.
Thank you, Justina, you're an excellent teacher and trainer. I really enjoyed this series. It was educational and entertaining. Keep up the good work. Have a great holiday .
Great review, I love this series and appreciate how informative it is. So pleased you liked Tracy as I’ve been doing her workouts for years! I have to say she has had the same warmup for awhile! I’m sure she will come up with something better. 😂 She certainly does her research and does try to keep up with the latest trends and science. Thanks again!
Hi Justina, I just want to express how grateful I am to you and how much I appreciate your channel. I found you in at the end of April of this year and the videos about strength training and steps were some of the first videos I watched. Yesterday, I checked my step count averages and I can see how the averages improve around that time: In the six months before I made on average of 4300 steps/day and in the six months after the average is 7700 steps/day. Enjoy your vacation and happy holidays!
Woo! I've loved following along with the series this year. First time I've ever stuck with a vlogmas series all the way through. ;) Hope you enjoy your time off!
I really enjoy Tracy’s workouts I do them often I think I was one that actually suggested her for your bowl. I KNEW the warm up would be a point you would mention and I agree but it’s so nice that she actually commented that she would work on improving that. Great series and I’m excited for it to continue 😊
Thank you so much for this series! This has been the best vlogmas-series I have ever watched, so informative and so fun. I am super looking forward to this being a regular type of video! Also excited for your Hybrid Calisthenics review, Hampton is such a kind person. 😊
Loved this review!!! @TracySteenMoveDaily is my go to everyday! I truly enjoy the “ not too much talking” as it frustrates me when coaches keep talking. Lol I used to yell at Jillian Micheal’s to “shut up”! 😂
I loved this series and the educational imput I received! I've loved your videos for years now and you have definitely helped me become more critical about all the fitness information available out there!
Thank you so much for doing this series, I really enjoyed it. Hope you will continue these types of reviews in the new year. Also love your content giving feedback on appropriate form for exercises. Have a wonderful holiday season!
Always give yourself a lot of grace! From what you show on your calendar you have a lot more hats to wear than just TH-cam. Thanks for all of the free amazing content and rest up over the holidays!!
Love your channel and love this series - so glad you are continuing with a monthly review. Hopefully your channel starts picking up in the new year - you are a wealth of great information. I’m watching this after Christmas so happy new year and look forward to trying the kettlebell video.
I love your approach to vlogmas. I particularly appreciate your commentary on programming and the importance of warm-ups. I look forward to more workout reviews in 2024.
Loved that you loved Tracey, I am a fan! Worked out with her just this morning! Thanks for a brilliant December. I hope you get some well deserved rest. Look forward to more fun and education with you in 2024 💕
Thank you so much and wishing you a wonderful break and holiday season. Really loving the educational approach in the videos over different material and how you link it to other videos you've done to dive deeper into topics. Definitely helping me have a better understanding of what to look for and they why behind it. Appreciate all your hard work and wishing you a great 2024!
I really enjoyed this series and was looking forward to your videos every day. But I can imagine that it was a ton of work and I'm happy you're taking a break now. Enjoy the holidays and I am excited for your next video. Thanks again. 😊
I would agree, I love the basics! I like variety in movements and efficiency but don’t want anything gimmicky or beyond what my hypermobile joints can handle. Strength workouts for me are important for both the mobility issues I have and osteoporosis which my mom got young and I’m afraid I will too though unlike her I’m a non smoker and not a drug addict so am never underweight. So definitely not sexy goals so l loved how you joked about the sexy workout! Thanks for all your hard work, your level of knowledge and productivity and strong business sense truly floor me. I hope someday you coach other people how to run an exercise-based business! When I got yoga teacher certification I was warned that my lack of business sense would interfere with being a yoga teacher so I have only done it part time or as a volunteer. I so admire someone with integrity and focused on health sharing that with other people, awesome work.
I have absolutely loved this series and look forward to it appearing monthly in 2024 ❤ Putting out 22 videos in such a short time is still an astonishing feat!
I have to say that I’m new to your channel - Vlogmas has been the first videos of yours that I’ve followed and I love them! You have great insights to share and I’m also just totally entertained by them. Today’s was especially great because I was super impressed how honest you were about your TH-cam status lately. I always love hearing people be real, so thank you for that! Looking forward to the monthly reviews coming up in 2024!
Thank you for all these reviews-I learned many things, discovered a curiosity for kettlebells, and subscribed! I love Tracy and I’m glad she got reviewed by a peer!
I just found your channel in October or so… I’m 45 and know I need to lift more instead of running all the time, it’s just hard to figure it out! I’ve enjoyed this series and respect how much work you’ve put in. I look forward to this being a regular feature and may need to look into your new kettlebell program in the new year!
I don't know, I really love the general direction of your channel and I did not perceive any drop in quality OR in passion whatsoever; in fact, you always seem pretty much perfect with balancing entertainment and high quality education, and also energetic and vibrant. I hope 2024 will be an amazing year for you and your channel too! I'll definitely keep on watching every single video. Have the merriest Xmas ever with your family!
Girl yes Hybrid Calisthenics, what a win! You should hoprfully love it, Hampton is awesome and so encouraging. Loved this series, so glad you're continuing it! Happy holidays! 😊
I've really enjoyed your vlogmas videos and your other content as well. Looking forward to watching in 2024 and especially to your review of Hybrid Calisthenics. Hampton is a fantastic person. Hope you have a restful break.
Enjoy your Christmas 🎄 😊 I would also love a video on how to build a good warm up. I love you filling the dead air with cues to remind me where my body should be in the space it makes me feel like I am doing the move right plus makes time fly
Thank you Justina for the daily videos ♡ I really enjoyed all of the content. I also started to engage more in your content in order to support you and appease the algorithm gods! Enjoy the holidays!🌟🎄🎉
Major thought on warm-ups: I think the warm up thing being "hodgepodge" is psychologically satisfying to many. This is a nation obsessed with the "immediate result" otherwise a click-away. I think if a warm-up isn't somehow promising a full body blast or burn, uneducated or untrusting people will click away. As a former HS athlete, dancer, NASM cert PT and LMT, even *I* know what my body needs, but sometimes my brain wants something else, be it the immediate blast of stress relief, or embarrassingly, the anxiety of "burning off" something...(despite being in ed remission for a long time, there are still some non-negotiable thoughts on bad days that I just allow until I'm eventually ready to release those too, for example, some days I DO exercise to burn calories, although my style of exercise has always been whatever intuitively brings my body joy vs punishment that day). I love your workouts (behind the paywall) when I am centered and my body feels it needs to tune into some strength - NOTHING online has engaged long neglected parts of my body like your workouts do, and leave me feeling *better* the next day, and I know this is because of the activation of my dance/PT days, and duration. I think many free online workouts are catering to the "productive burners" and so they have to promise "look! we're going to move so much!" as fast as possible. At any rate, so many well wishes for your channel. I've been binging this since last month and you deserve all the best, for your reflections, your work ethic, and your knowledge! xo
This is excellent insight and I love how tuned in you are to what you need! I'm also so honored that you've enjoyed my workouts. Wishing you the happiest of holidays my friend :)
Loved this series! So glad you are continuing it. I was thinking about how it would be great if you did this all the time..and my Christmas wish came true! 😂 Hope you and Kevin enjoy the holidays! Go Birds!!
What is it with group ex step touch & reach thing that lots of warmups include?! 😂Appreciate all your efforts Justina and am thinking about adding more kettlebell work into my workouts. I need to learn how to move bell around without banging into wrist and forearm.
Thank you, Justina! Enjoy your time off! Two questions: if I want to do the kettlebell program, how many different kettlebell weights would I need? I currently only have dumbbells (heaviest I use are 30lb each). Also, could you share info about the platform/mat you use in your apartment? Noise travels so much in NYC apartments...
Thank you! For the kettlebell program I'd recommend two: medium & heavier. Something ~15LBs and ~25LBs would be perfect! Also the mat is from www.rubberflooringinc.com/
Thank you for this series and your educational content it has helped me a lot! Enjoy your break, it's very well deserved 🎉 P.S. I hope somewhere in your bowl is Nicole Pearce movement. She is a great coach and typically has specific movement prep (aka warm-ups😅) for her workouts.
I'm going to miss vlogmas but I'm glad youare gettinga well deserved vacation❤ I found Daniel and Amy through this, so thank you! Do you think I could do the kettlebell workout with a single dumbbell?
Love these videos! What I didn’t love in this video was that you mentioned that the warmup “sucked” and was “god awful” but didn’t really get into specifics or offer constructive suggestions to make it better. I know you have gotten into it in other videos but it felt a little unfair to this creator especially if someone oniy sees this video and not the whole series! Again have been loving this whole series and happy it’s going to be a recurring thing on your channel!!! Merry Christmas!!!
Hey Justina,as you mentioned you will continue with the reviews as a monthly thing. Could you please add Juice & Toya & Juliette Wooten to the list please if you could. Thank you !
I have a question that might be relevant to the Hybrid Calisthenics video! I've been doing dumbbell-based strength training for about a year now and am interested in adding calisthenics because a lot of the movements seem fun to me. My goals for 2024 are getting my first standard push-up and my first pull-up. If I add pull-up and push-up progression work to 2 or 3 full-body dumbbell workouts a week, will I be overtraining my upper body? I don't want to stop dumbbell work because it makes me feel like a badass, but I don't want to overtrain or injure myself either. And for dumbbell stuff I do TH-cam videos because I can't stay focused or organized enough to plan out a whole workout or time my own sets :P P.S. If this would be best addressed one-on-one I'd be happy to pay you your normal personal training rate! Just thought the question of how to add calisthenics to dumbbell workouts might be relevant to your Hybrid Calisthenics video. Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense!
I love those goals for 2024! In regards to your overtraining question, it’s impossible to say without knowing what else you’re doing in your strength work. I don’t think you need to stop strength training, but you may need to put in a little more planning if you want to add in those goals. I hope that helps!
I’ll work on that warm up 😉 Thanks for the review and moving daily with me! 💙
Ahh Tracy you're wonderful! Thank you for putting out such excellent workouts!
i think it is safe to say most of us are pretty happy with your "just right length of time" warm ups!! Personally, I stretch out my problem areas prior... 'cause they are my problem areas lol. Then I move on to the "just right length of time" appropriately more generic Tracy Steen warm up!

I was like R U JOKING lol
I am so glad you enjoyed Tracy Steen, she's really good.
Me too!

sending you and your mom a lot of love!

Yay, monthly series!
i'm excited!
Tracy is great. The only one who keeps me motivated.
i love that you found someone who motivates you!
I would agree, I love the basics! I like variety in movements and efficiency but don’t want anything gimmicky or beyond what my hypermobile joints can handle. It takes a lot of practice, but try a loose grip :)
Thanks so much for this vlogmas series I've learned so much and you have introduced me to new channels 😀 Have a Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 xxx
So glad you enjoyed!
A shout out to u Justina u r fabulous and a big thank you for these reviews!!! u r so knowledgeable thanks again!!!!🥰🥰
thank you!!
Maybe you can post a warm up series.😍
I’ve made videos on warmups before!
🧐Guess I'll have to check it out !@@JustinaErcole
Hi can you try a stretching routine from strengthside. They provide different types of mobility workout which seems interesting.
maybe in the future! I need to get through my big bowl of coaches first :)
Really enjoyed this series!
Yay, thank you!
I’ve been loving this series and I’m looking forward to you continuing these next year. Hope you enjoy your time off and enjoy the holidays. ❤️💚
Right back at ya!
This has been such a fun series!
so glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for this series and your educational content it has helped me a lot! Enjoy your break, it's very well deserved 🎉
P.S. I hope somewhere in your bowl is Nicole Pearce movement. She is a great coach and typically has specific movement prep (aka warm-ups😅) for her workouts.
So glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for this series and enjoy your well earned vacation! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Glad you finished on a high note! Too bad about the warmup. Right before you announced the next instructor, it went to an ad. The suspense lol.
hahaha i love a suspenseful ad break :)
I'm going to miss vlogmas but I'm glad youare gettinga well deserved vacation❤ I found Daniel and Amy through this, so thank you! Do you think I could do the kettlebell workout with a single dumbbell?
This one? Depends on the weight and you’ll probably have to modify or sub exercises.
Love Tracy steen workouts!
Luckily I have a number of other videos about warmups!
Hey Justina,as you mentioned you will continue with the reviews as a monthly thing. Could you please add Juice & Toya & Juliette Wooten to the list please if you could. Thank you !
Hey! I’m still working from the original submissions from the announcement video. But I think they’re in the bowl :)
And for dumbbell stuff I do TH-cam videos because I can't stay focused or organized enough to plan out a whole workout or time my own sets :P
