And the movie confirms that Swiss or (ex-Swissair) - Pilots (especially the one on the Cpt seat right in the beginning, probably en ex-Airforce pilot) are sometimes quite arrogant. Today it's better, but the old generation of Swiss(Swissair pilots are still convinced to be the best ever. Well, I prefer to watch Easyjet flight trainings, their pilots are at least as skilled as the Swiss ones and the atmosphere is totally different.
Thanks for sharing! One question: Assuming they flew a basic traffic pattern with touch&goes, did the flight crew program it (traffic pattern route) into the FMC or did they just use a heading select knob for the lateral navigation? Seems like they flew the whole pattern manually though. Thanks!
As you can see, the ND is displaying the rose. The opposite departure runway is probably selected in the cdu/fmc as departure which give you a straight line to the departure runway from base. Flight director is turn of to keep the line there to help manually fly correctly to the runway
+svaellmen Its called "touch and go" this is part of the trainning for the pilots so if somehow they cant perform the landing they will abort it and they will continue with further actions
Must be nice to be able to get the feel of the airplane before taking it out on a real flight. At my airline, and representative of majority of airlines here in the US, the first time you fly the airplane is on OE with passengers. I haven’t done something like what’s depicted in video since the 80s. Hope Swiss is still doing this.
