      When people have extreme hypothermia they have the sensation of being really hot and take of all their clothes. That's why I can't believe Selena simply got lost or had something in her system. Even if people are really really drunk they still take of their clothes so something else must have caused her to stay there or she was unconscious.

      It’s not uncommon for it that to happen on Rez’s. My Rez is blessed enough not to be as ruff or nearly as ruff as a lot of other Rez’s but even here on my Rez, families have lost multiple (close) family members. A lot of Rez’s are as bad as 3rd world countries. I knew a girl & her cousin who came to my town (the town next to our Rez) for College. They came from Fort Hall, Idaho. Their first couple days after moving here, she said her & her cousin drove out to our Rez to check things out. She said her & her cousin where “impressed” bc our houses/projects had grass. Something so simple and trivial like grass. Imagine what it would be like to be impressed by having a yard with grass & it being a luxury. It’s bc in a lot of Rez’s life is the luxury.

      maegan nicole nelson it’s true, it’s bullshit to rule this death an accident. If she was only a mile away, drunk or not, you’d be able to find your way back, to at least the gas station. Or at least to somewhere where she would be found, before she died. I think it’s too much to be a coincidence that they searched the whole area and didn’t find her body when it’s a mile away, and that the woman at the gas station said she “saw her run off into the field”. Because I think the killer still had her body, heard the report of her “running into the field” (or whatever it’s called) and then decided to dump her body there to support that claim.

    • @TAmber1213

      There ruling that there were no footprints is bullshit because at night the ground freezes and you wouldnt necessarily leave foot prints. They were much older adults, who she did not know prior to the New Year’s Party, who lived in Billings (town of the party) so it’s not like they were coincidentally driving back to the same home town. Selena was the ONLY youth in that van. Every person in that van gave a different account to the authorities of what happened at that rest stop. Extremely suspicious.

If her friend was also given something, it would explain her memory loss and being found in a ditch too. I think there were definitely drugs involved and that her death may have been unintentional. • @Pageanteen
      @Pageanteen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Reese I’ve been in contact with her family.. her aunt told me she dropped her off at a friends house, she didn’t know it was going to be a party. She didn’t hear anything from Selena the next morning and decided to go over there. Wade old crowes mom called her and said they got in an accident and she was headed over. She left her house and started heading towards Hardin. Then they call and say they left and the car just broke down with Selena still at the rest stop. Her aunt and mom got there within 30 min and we’re calling and searching for Selena and she was not at the rest stop and the rest of the passengers in the car were gone. Besides Shaina Spotted Bear. They had just became “friends” when all this happened. They said if Selena was out there they would have seen here.. it doesn’t have trees just bushes and grassland. They don’t think Selena was there at all.. they camped out and searched for days. I have been shown by family Selena’s body in the morgue.. her nose, cheeks and face was badly bruised. She was beat up. They also went back where they found her and found rings that she wore and never took off scattered that police “missed”. Which leads me to believe there was a struggle. This case is not over yet!! Not until we have the truth. And these people are held accountable.

    Indigenous people are rarely talked about, sadly. Native people are going missing in the US at an alarming and unreported rate and it needs much more attention! On that same subject: would you consider doing a story on the phenomena of “starlight tours” up in Canada? It’s a really insidious police practice where First Nations people are taken into custody and abandoned in the middle of nowhere to freeze to death. I think since the issue of police brutality is so much in people’s consciousness right now it’s so important to talk about first Nation’s peoples experiences too. People have this idea that Canada is this post racial utopia but it’s really not.

Even in the 21st century there is complete disregard for my people. Times are changing though and we are standing up for ourselves and finally getting the recognition we deserve. + Johnny Harjo
    Wade Old Crow
    Robert Fog in the Morning (driver)
    Shanna Spotted Bear
    Sara Starr Wilkinson
    Arlanna Pretty On Top
    Snapchat story belonging to Arlanna was shown to display Wade and Selena arguing while the others in the vehicle continued drinking.
    The first Search party combed through the area in which Selena was found 01/20/20. And then again for a second and third time at different days. Yet, “no foul play” was suggested at the scene.
    Arlanna and Selena were left on the side of the road by Wade, Robert, Shanna, and Sara.
    Arlanna was found 350 yards away from Selena without any shoes. She was picked up by Robert’s mother who was 15 mins behind Robert’s vehicle. Arlanna asked the driver to go back for Selena but she refused and kept driving.
    The last thing Arlanna remembers about Selena, was looking at her and then turning around to run away. After Arlanna was trying to get her back to the other side of the fence she took off in the fields.
    Arlanna has no memory of getting to where she was found without shoes, she was drugged.
    Wade Old Crow was seen at a party a recent weekend ago crying saying he’s “gonna go to hell”. People at the party were trying to get it out of him but he refused to say any more.
    Shanna has changed her story approximately SIX times
    Robert has changed his story around three times.
    Wade on the other hand, simply “doesn’t remember.”
    Arlanna has yet to be spoken to by the authorities and has been reported to be seen in a Walmart in Polson, Montana. She is believed to be hiding.
    + update from community members: Robert, along with his father and brother were reportedly shooting Twila Old Chief’s home last night. 01/20/20
    Tell me again, “no foul play” has been suspected.

    • @lsfshae
      @lsfshae 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Exactly. Where were her footprints from supposedly running out there? Also, where were the footprints that should have at least been near her from people during the first search? If she had been out there the entire time, somebody needs to be held accountable for the lack of diligence of searching/combing in at least a one mile radius of the last known place of where she was. If she really had been there the whole time, it’s the police’s fault that she’s dead. If they had done things better, they could have found her before she died and saved her. They are saying there were no footprints, but that doesn’t add up for how she got there or for people searching the area for her.

      @Carlos Cortez it’s not sensitivity she was stating her point of view on your comment being garbage and I agree as she wasn’t aware of this happening and is thankful to not be so oblivious how was she putting her feelings above others but showing sadness for what happens damn you want her to be glad this stuff happens, “man up” is the least imaginative thing you could say how about you grow up and respect others opinions and they will respect yours or can’t you handle that “you sensitive snowflake” xx

      Especially if they “couldn’t find her body due to weather” excuse me but where I’m from if snow could hide a body from the day she went missing they can hide foot prints and tie marks. This narrative they’re trying to spin doesn’t make sense..

      not wanna get graphic but there are ways to determine if a body was moved. Even without that there would have been some kind of tracks. Not to mention that would be extremely risky to do on a mosty clear field.

    So I actually live in a town close to where this happened, and as soon as I heard about it, something felt extremely fishy. So not only did her "friend" post the snapchat with the two boys arguing, but she posted a snapchat with blood on her jeans like she had just beat someone up. Many people close to her were saying that something happened between Selena and one of the men, who had a girlfriend. Apparently because of this she was beat up. Part of it always sounded like maybe she was drugged and setup for sex traffiking, but sensed something dangerous and took off. As scary as that sounds, it is actually A HUGE rarely talked about problem in the area.

    She was planning on attending her brother’s college? That’s sweet but also sad if you think about it. With losing three siblings, they probably felt like they needed to stay near each other to look out for one another- hence going to the same college. I can’t imagine the anxiety these tragedies created for such young people. Heartbreaking.
