I never realized how strong Naksu really was till she was controlled, and it was not even her own power that she was using. With her full power she must be even stronger 💪🔥🔥
She was/is as strong as an entire army of mages. We saw her power in the very first episode where she was "defeated" by not only the leader of Songrim. That guy is one of the strongest mages, but if you see the first episode, he was not fighting her all alone. No mage has the power of that assassin. Her powers may be enhanced once she jumped into that girl's body who is meant to be a high priestess who was born with natural mage powers.
It took the whole of Songrim to land a scratch on her during the battle in episode 1, and she already mastered CHISU when she was just a teenager (she can climb the top of the danhangyuk tree). She was ahead among all of the other mages, dangu/seo yul/crown prince, so given all that she's one powerful mage and seeing her defeat them without breaking a sweat in this scene is both magnificently shocking and heartbreaking (bc she was was under a spell)
Park Dang Gu is never mentioned, but he was a very good guy,and handsome too. He coulnd´t believe his eyes, he cared for Mudeok, thats why he hesitated to kil her. Naksu the Dragon Warrior was superb, Jung Somin didn´t get an award , for acting unbelieveble .

@Pranith not really- Mudeok displayed the skills early in the show -she lacked magic and strength but she gained strength later, just from Waiting on Jang Uk unfortunately I agree agree- this was cursed magic, rather than her own skill. But still, Dancer JSM moved easily through the turns- i would have loved to see Jun and Mudeok fight beside each other against Soul shifter s or Jin Mu’s goons- as both actors are skilled dancers which helps with choreography- and I have witnessed coupe of scenes where JSM practically wraps her legs around her head, so no problem with flexibility. I would have much rather have seen Mudeok Fight beside the Mages she once considered enemy and Master Jang. But Oh well.
@Pranith i am not following you. Jin Mu wanted to kill Mideok’s father because he learned that the man discovered that Bu Ueon was his true daughter- and he was ready to help bring Jin Mu down. He was the Shaman’s brother, but the Queen and Jin Mi went after Nasuk’s Father because he knew about Jang Uk and was goi g to reveal it. Jin Mu targeted Nasuk because her need for revenge made her the perfect killing machine.
@Pranith Mudeok gained her powers before Jin Mu’s enchantment- she used her skills to defeat the Soul Shofter who had defeated all the Mages, including Yul- because they had lost their powers. She didn’t break sweat but killed him with one blow. She gave up her powers to help Jang Uk break the barrier. She willingly gave up her magic- bit not her fighting skill.

However Nasuk is still considered a criminal- she killed people and nothing indicates that she had used the Alchemy of Souls before merging with Mudeok or needed to . Jin Mu thought his Brother-in -law was dead.. When he learned he was alive and that Lady Jin had dispelled his doubt that he was Jin Bu Yeon’s father, Jin Mu knew his days of influence were numbered. Lord Jan was dead and her secret was exposed. Lady Jin did not want to believe that Mudeok was her daughter, however it was her fear that the three Families would discover she and Lord Jang had used the Ice Stone to bring her dead infant back to life that inspired her silence as to her brother’s machinations. The Queen still has the Shaman’s body- so we can assume the Shaman is dead as they didn’t transfer bodies running around as the Queen or she has been imprisoned- like Mudeok in the Jin Vault - by Yul’s uncle ar the fortress. The power Nasuk shares with her power is the power to open the observatory and reveal fate from the stars. The combined powers of Nasuk and Mudeok is what caused the Heavens to open and broke that urn. Nasuk’s was a trained assassin- and would have been- had Jin Mu and Shaman Choi not silenced her Dad- raised with and considered as powerful as the offspring of four families- she might have even cemented her families place by marriage either the son of her Father’s Best friend, or into Yul’s family or perhaps the Crown Prince. I am a little afraid that Yul’s Unclemigjt know more than he let on about Nasuk’s training. I like the theory that the Delay in Bu Yeon’s birth was because She was Waiting fir the birth of Jang Uk. On the spiritual plane when she saved him from being shifted, Jin Bu Yeon seemed just as in love with Jang Uk as Nasuk. But it is just a few weeks away- i hope for surprises not formula from the Hong Sisters.
God i'm beyond excited to see this badass version of Naksu in season 2. She easily defeated Songrim and Cheonbugwan mages with ease, and didn't even break a sweat with Choyeon and Dangu. I wanna see her square up with Park Jin again in the future (or at least kill Jin Mu), i bet she would wipe the floor with him. Our girl really had the best opening and closing fight scenes in the whole season 1 💅🏻 #naksuspremacy

@@Gattberserk Naksu did not have a proper master, she lived alone in that isolated mountain, Jin Mu visits her sometimes, it was stated in the show, however Naksu fueled with rage and thirsty for revenge trained herself day and night to be the strongest mage-assassin in Daeho.
@@princessdianefernandez4606 Even without a proper master, like all the others in her age group, she progressed really really far with all her isolation training fuled with revenge. Naksu definitely is on a league of her own, I wish we can see more of that in Season 2. Just makes us appreciate how she wholeheartedly taught Jang Uk, as a MASTER, with all her training and life threatening stunts to make him improve faster 🥲
@Pranith dude after all the previews for season 2, i feel like i'll never get to see her badass side ever again. Every time she regains her powers, the writers make a way to block her from doing shit with it. I'm so tired of her not having to lash out with her enemies voluntarily, for once 🥲
The fighting scene was indeed epic the powers of Naksu were great what an excellent warrior , but a tragic end really this was not were i hoped for .. i would seen her once happy unbelieveble the Hong sisters are very sinister writers , dark and evil ..sorry 😔
The story from the beginning is about and always has been NAKSU! Episode 1 showed her original true form/appearance. Then, Alchemy of Souls was performed and she shifted in the weak body of Mudeok. Thereafter, Mudoek's face was instilled in majority of the viewers but it's Naksu's soul all along. Now season 2 will have Naksu return to her real body is only fitting.
naksu is villain dangerous evil since ep 1 .the real main lead is mudeok or buyeon .all this time she's in control of buyeon natural powers but jinmu lifts naksu by powerful sorcery .she warns uk many times he's prepared for his fate
@@smartthinker8522 I think you’ve missed the point, first of all Mudeok is just an alias, the body belongs to Buyeon and the soul in control of the body is Naksu. And the prince, Jang Uk and Seo Yul all fell in love with the soul which is Naksu. Naksu is what carries the body and brings out the personality that they all love. And yes she was a dangerous assassin, but through out the episodes she grew to trust and care for others and that was the whole point.
I completely understand why this finale is getting a mixed reaction. This entire season has been building up the chemistry between Mu Deok and Jang Uk, so seeing Mu Deok kill Jang Uk was surprising to say the least. All the cute scenes between these two had seemingly made everyone forget that Mu Deok wasn't the real Mu Deok, Naksu had stolen Mu Deok's body to escape her punishment for being an assassin. I was always wondering when they were going to address the fact that Naksu was using Jin Ho-Gyeong's daughter as a host body, she would have never allowed Naksu to continue living in her daughter's body.
technically speaking a love is between naksu and jang uk.. body is of mu-deok/bu-jeon.. how these two bodies and souls be separated and saved and also the reunion of naksu and jang uk is what I am looking forward to
As far as i can remember, Naksu did not steal Buyeon's body. It was Buyeon who trapped Naksu's soul inside her body, and even prevented her from casting spells and using energy. But, I'm still confused as to why Buyeon did that, she was technically helping Naksu. The reason is still unknown to me though, but i know for a fact that it was against Naksu's will to be trapped inside the body of Buyeon/Mu Deok. So, saying that she stole Mu Deok's body, just doesn't sound right. We all know that since the beginning, she already planned on moving to another body, she always thought that Mu Deok's body was too weak for her. The ending may be a bit rushed because for a fantasy historical drama, 20 episode is too short. Dramas like this would most likely reach 30-40 episodes, can even be 50 or more, depending on how the plot runs. So i think we should wait for the second season to find answers to some of our questions.
I love it. If it wasn't getting more episodes, I could understand being annoyed with it but knowing there's more to the story? It was BRILLIANT. The show has phenomenal pacing to begin with. It built up so well, giving us just enough info each episode to keep us interested without revealing too much. It all comes together in an EPIC climax in episode 19. Episode 20 comes across as a "happy ending" episode which ties up all the loose ends... and then everything comes crashing down. I, for one, think this finale was genius. Maybe that's because I wasn't necessarily in this series for the romance or happy endings; I don't mind that stuff if it's not overdone but great storytelling is always my priority, even if the ending is tragic or unexpected.
Naksu clearing four seasons easily lol. she fought danggu and choyeon who both are still ryusu, i want to see her fight uk and yul who both are on chisu level that would be an epic fight
but we gotta agree both choyeon and danggu weren't in their best state here. they're most likely confused with what's going on and unsure whether to just hurt and kill off mudeok, especially danggu. i just know they have more powers than what they've shown in this scene

Naksu mentioned that she was the strongest mage of their generation, she reached Chisu faster than Park Jin did and she is known for her famous spell Tansu who can break Mountain Rocks and kill her enemy in one blow. She easily killed the Soul Shifter Master Kang with 1 blow of her Tansu using her sword, she fought 30+ Songrim mages on the first episode whose level is higher than the 4 seasons I presume since Park Jin brought them with him to kill the Shadow Assassin. She got hit by Park Jin’s arrow but was still able to slice his sword on a 1 on 1 fight, was able to get away and performed the alchemy of souls after the fight despite being chased by Songrim mages. She was the formidable warrior amongst the 4. Even Master Lee knows of her power and was thankful that a divine priestess is housing the soul of a powerful assassin if not, hell would break lose in Daeho.
The mu deok that we know and uk fell in love with is literally naksu. It will be literally weird if uk be not with his lovers real appearance /body. Also don’t worry every actor/actress have to test their chemistry together if they were not fitted thet wouldn’t even be con drama .
I saw the behind the scenes for these fights and Jung So Min literally danced through the practice- i wonder if, when she studied Classical Korean dance she ever practiced or Performed the sword dance? There are videos of the traditional Korean Sword dance on You Tube. the artist seem like beautiful but lethal fairies.
Dude, they had no idea they were fighting Naksu. Not even Songrim leader fought Naksu all alone. He had a high skilled backup group of mages with him. Even, Mu-Deok body enhances Naksu's powers and skills to its highest level. Not sure why Bu-Yeon (aka Mu Deok) wasn't able to stop Naksu from being mentally controlled by that dark mage. Right now we have Naksu in Bu-Yeon (aka Mu Deok's body) and also Bu-Yeon souls in the same body. Bu-Yeon is immortal at this point.
that's right because the last part of the true love story is mudeok or jin byeong with mudeok's body, the face of desire and the soul of jin soel ran so the mudeok never disappears until the end of episode 2. and jang uk and jin byeong have to start a new love for a new life because desire died while talking at the lake with jang uk's parting last words "I love you"
This scene hurt me so much. How twisted to have his daughters’ body (Bu-yeon) kill him and how betrayed Dang-Gu who has always liked Mu-Deok as a friend feels/looks and hesitated to kill her still believing in her. Agh!!!! Between this and the last Mu-Deok / Jang Uk interaction my heart shattered. I need the second season out and waiting until December is killiiiiiing me 😭
This series is so ridiculously good. I both LOVED and hated this finale. Loved it because it was so genius and well-done, but hated to see everything fall apart! Then, I loved it again because it's setting things up for a KILLER season 2. Then, I remember that Dang-gu and Cho-yeon are just about the last people in this series that deserve this. Just a phenomenal series! This is my third K-drama and man, between this and Extraordinary Attorney Woo, it just ain't fair for most shows because those two set the bar so high for me haha
well its probably because they became attached to the actress. so its hard for them to vision/see the drama without her. honestly the only reason im not going to watch season two is because of the horrible ending of season one, it just made me dislike where the drama is heading to for season two.
They also don't understand why you don't care the lead change ... everyone is free to express and do have their own thoughts, no need and not able to judge ...
They ruined the second season to be honest, we know the plot is focused mainly on Jank-Uk but that doesn’t mean they don’t show other powerful female characters. It was such a let-down, they turned Naksu into a weak helpless naive woman in the second season.

Personally I loved the ending. Most k-drama's ( or alteast the ones I've seen ) have had a happy ever after. This is different and I loved it. I'm really excited for season 2, and I'm really excited for the other actress as well. ( she was honestly cool as fuck in the first episode)
I finished watching Season 1 of "Alchemy" today. Overall, I enjoyed this drama series. I did perceive and anticipated on a different ending. For example, I envisioned Mu-deok having been reunited with her mother and sister. I saw Jang Uk and Mu-deok being lovers who leave the martial/sorcery world. As in "Return of the Condor Heroes," it's taboo for the master (Siu Lung Nui) to fall in love with her pupil (Yeurng Gor). There wasn't that climax. Haven't seen and don't plan to watch Season 2 as I heard that it did not have the same caliber of performances as Season 1. Also, it does not have Jung So-min as the lead actress. I think she gave stellar performances. "Alchemy of Souls" is a drama that incorporates elements from "Return of the Condor Heroes," "The Matrix," "Harry Potter," and "Game of Thrones."

@@dyan1010 i think you might be confuse about mudeok/jin buyeon thing The story is all about Naksu and Jank UK love story and they make it very clear since the beginning of the first episode Jan UK was fascinated by Naksu power without even knowing her personally so he recognized her while her soul was trapped in Jin buyeon body It is a very beautiful story with a lot of emotions but the story line is beautiful And both actress portrayed Naksu and Jin buyeon very well In the last season the actress where more Jin Buyeon than Naksu she was quiet lovely and innocent in contrast which the first season where the actress where stronger powerful and cold blooded really Naksu shadow assassin character I love the both season ❤

They thought they are watching sweet rom coms. It's titled Alchemy of Souls, it's fantasy drama has something to do with sorcery, mages, fighters and a shadow assassin. Romance was just another ingredient.
Theyre angry because of plot holes and inconsistencies in the final episode. Characters acting out of character, convenient plot devices, etc. Im not that mad about the ending but seeing it objectively, it really was disappointing. The bell thing was the biggest bullshit in the story. It wasnt mentioned before nor foreshadowed then suddenly here we are at the last episode this thing suddenly appears then conveniently controls the main character whom we know possess a body of a powerful priestess. If the villain had the bell all along alot of problems wouldnt have occured for them like eunuch kim who ran amock and caused problems for them, they couldve use the bell to keep him under control.
@@mirnasilla7423 You have a good point, the episode felt really rushed about that, but since there is part 2 coming I would expect them to go deeper into controlling souls through that bell. So in my opinion, this is perfect part 1 ending for people to desperately wait for part 2 and then continue the story.

Uhm, Dang Gu and Cho Yeong is Ryusu level and Naksu is Chisu level which is higher than Ryusu, how can they defeat an assassin who killed multiple songrim mages and had a head to head with the songrim leader lol. Naksu was the feared assassin of Daeho for she was a formidable warrior and unbeatable assassin. He mastered chisu faster than Park Jin did.
@Pranith A Chisu level mage can destroy jinyowoon relics, in EP 6, Naksu was trapped in the Mirror of Longing since Buyeon’s body neutralizes her power, they need to have someone who mastered the highest levels of Chisu which Park Jin and Naksu already achieved, Park Jin was not allowed to go inside Jinyowoon because he was a high level mage and jinyowoon somehow weakens the power of a mage it is inside but if the rekord are outside, it can be destroyed by a high level mage because the barrier that projects the relics which is Jinyowoon is no longer there, so Naksu can destroy a relic if it is outside the Jinyowoon quarters.
Whyy hong sisters.. and I'm pissed because they show us in some episode that buyeon did take over her body, so where is she when this happened.. buyeon is high priestess and after all there are two souls in one body.. Btw, i do think somin will still present in 2nd season but not as main character as in season 1.. her mother still waiting for buyeon to return..

No way.. if this how you are ending a beautiful story, you can have the next season all by yourselves...
exactly what i was thinking, to be frank they didnt even really need a season 2 for this drama. i think i would of been better off with one season. honestly i think i would only watch season two to see the reunion of Bu-Yeon and her mother.

I wish a different writer would make a sequel better then the hong sisters. These sister have sinester plan to hook the people in their story making. Putting characters and storyline into bad light so people would want justice to the wrong ending and be hook by their storylines eventually making tons of money in the process. If someone would do a better happy ending someone who is typical korean happy ending unlike these Hong sister who i think are chinese learned writers. So that this hong sisters will lose following then those new writers would gain fame and following thus removing manopoly. This is now an opportunity for other writers to redeem the wrong ending of the hongs.

I am mad and couldn’t sleep. I won’t watch Hong sister’s drama anymore. Daughter killed her own farther in front of her sister., and then killed her beloved. Is this some kind of horrified drama? It hurts my mental health, and not good for any young kids. However, all the actors and actresses are great. Made this drama bearable.

Yul’s Chisu will not match up to her considering she did not have a proper Master while the four season a were trained by the best Masters of Daeho.

I found this drama to be tedious and corny. In fact it was hard to struggle though I cant face another season on this. I think Korean drama has defiantly gone backwards a lot. I used to really enjoy Korean dramas but they are just getting to weird and ridiculous. Not even good scripts and just dragged on and on and on.
Right! All that talking and comedy and we only got around 6 small fights in the entire season. They ruined it. I wanted to stop watching after episode 4 because of all the useless talking

I never realized how strong Naksu really was till she was controlled, and it was not even her own power that she was using. With her full power she must be even stronger 💪🔥🔥
She was/is as strong as an entire army of mages. We saw her power in the very first episode where she was "defeated" by not only the leader of Songrim. That guy is one of the strongest mages, but if you see the first episode, he was not fighting her all alone. No mage has the power of that assassin. Her powers may be enhanced once she jumped into that girl's body who is meant to be a high priestess who was born with natural mage powers.
Yup. It took a small army with ranged support to take her down in episode 1.
It took the whole of Songrim to land a scratch on her during the battle in episode 1, and she already mastered CHISU when she was just a teenager (she can climb the top of the danhangyuk tree). She was ahead among all of the other mages, dangu/seo yul/crown prince, so given all that she's one powerful mage and seeing her defeat them without breaking a sweat in this scene is both magnificently shocking and heartbreaking (bc she was was under a spell)

Park Dang Gu is never mentioned, but he was a very good guy,and handsome too. He coulnd´t believe his eyes, he cared for Mudeok, thats why he hesitated to kil her. Naksu the Dragon Warrior was superb, Jung Somin didn´t get an award , for acting unbelieveble .
I am so glad she wasn’t forced to fight Yul. Watching her fight Dangu and her Sister was heartbreaking enough
@Pranith we don’t know if Yul is equal to her skills, but he is supposedly best of the best- it just would have hurt to see either of them kill their first love

Waiting on Jang Uk unfortunately I agree agree- this was cursed magic, rather than her own skill. But still, Dancer JSM moved easily through the turns- i would have loved to see Jun and Mudeok fight beside each other against Soul shifter s or Jin Mu’s goons- as both actors are skilled dancers which helps with choreography- and I have witnessed coupe of scenes where JSM practically wraps her legs around her head, so no problem with flexibility. I would have much rather have seen Mudeok
Fight beside the Mages she once considered enemy and Master Jang. But Oh well.
@Pranith i am not following you. Jin Mu wanted to kill Mideok’s father because he learned that the man discovered that Bu Ueon was his true daughter- and he was ready to help bring Jin Mu down. He was the Shaman’s brother, but the Queen and Jin Mi went after Nasuk’s Father because he knew about Jang Uk and was goi g to reveal it. Jin Mu targeted Nasuk because her need for revenge made her the perfect killing machine.
@Pranith Mudeok gained her powers before Jin Mu’s enchantment- she used her skills to defeat the Soul Shofter who had defeated all the Mages, including Yul- because they had lost their powers. She didn’t break sweat but killed him with one blow. She gave up her powers to help Jang Uk break the barrier. She willingly gave up her magic- bit not her fighting skill.
@Pranith I think we saw the events differently. However Nasuk is still considered a criminal- she killed people and nothing indicates that she had used the Alchemy of Souls before merging with Mudeok or needed to .
Jin Mu thought his Brother-in -law was dead.. When he learned he was alive and that Lady Jin had dispelled his doubt that he was Jin Bu Yeon’s father, Jin Mu knew his days of influence were numbered. Lord Jan was dead and her secret was exposed. Lady Jin did not want to believe that Mudeok was her daughter, however it was her fear that the three Families would discover she and Lord Jang had used the Ice Stone to bring her dead infant back to life that inspired her silence as to her brother’s machinations.
The Queen still has the Shaman’s body- so we can assume the Shaman is dead as they didn’t transfer bodies running around as the Queen or she has been imprisoned- like Mudeok in the Jin Vault - by Yul’s uncle ar the fortress.
The power Nasuk shares with her power is the power to open the observatory and reveal fate from the stars. The combined powers of Nasuk and Mudeok is what caused the Heavens to open and broke that urn.
Nasuk’s was a trained assassin- and would have been- had Jin Mu and Shaman Choi not silenced her Dad- raised with and considered as powerful as the offspring of four families- she might have even cemented her families place by marriage either the son of her Father’s Best friend, or into Yul’s family or perhaps the Crown Prince.
I am a little afraid that Yul’s Unclemigjt know more than he let on about Nasuk’s training.
I like the theory that the Delay in Bu Yeon’s birth was because She was Waiting fir the birth of Jang Uk.
On the spiritual plane when she saved him from being shifted, Jin Bu Yeon seemed just as in love with Jang Uk as Nasuk.
But it is just a few weeks away- i hope for surprises not formula from the Hong Sisters.
God i'm beyond excited to see this badass version of Naksu in season 2. She easily defeated Songrim and Cheonbugwan mages with ease, and didn't even break a sweat with Choyeon and Dangu. I wanna see her square up with Park Jin again in the future (or at least kill Jin Mu), i bet she would wipe the floor with him. Our girl really had the best opening and closing fight scenes in the whole season 1 💅🏻 #naksuspremacy
Jinwu is stronger than her. He is her master afterall, and the student of Jang Gang.

@@Gattberserk Naksu did not have a proper master, she lived alone in that isolated mountain, Jin Mu visits her sometimes, it was stated in the show, however Naksu fueled with rage and thirsty for revenge trained herself day and night to be the strongest mage-assassin in Daeho.
@@princessdianefernandez4606 Even without a proper master, like all the others in her age group, she progressed really really far with all her isolation training fuled with revenge. Naksu definitely is on a league of her own, I wish we can see more of that in Season 2. Just makes us appreciate how she wholeheartedly taught Jang Uk, as a MASTER, with all her training and life threatening stunts to make him improve faster 🥲
@Pranith dude after all the previews for season 2, i feel like i'll never get to see her badass side ever again. Every time she regains her powers, the writers make a way to block her from doing shit with it. I'm so tired of her not having to lash out with her enemies voluntarily, for once 🥲

The story from the beginning is about and always has been NAKSU! Episode 1 showed her original true form/appearance. Then, Alchemy of Souls was performed and she shifted in the weak body of Mudeok. Thereafter, Mudoek's face was instilled in majority of the viewers but it's Naksu's soul all along. Now season 2 will have Naksu return to her real body is only fitting.
Completely agree it’s always been about her, and I can’t wait to see her use her powers in her original body.
naksu is villain dangerous evil since ep 1 .the real main lead is mudeok or buyeon .all this time she's in control of buyeon natural powers but jinmu lifts naksu by powerful sorcery .she warns uk many times he's prepared for his fate

@@smartthinker8522 I think you’ve missed the point, first of all Mudeok is just an alias, the body belongs to Buyeon and the soul in control of the body is Naksu. And the prince, Jang Uk and Seo Yul all fell in love with the soul which is Naksu. Naksu is what carries the body and brings out the personality that they all love. And yes she was a dangerous assassin, but through out the episodes she grew to trust and care for others and that was the whole point.

This entire season has been building up the chemistry between Mu Deok and Jang Uk, so seeing Mu Deok kill Jang Uk was surprising to say the least.
All the cute scenes between these two had seemingly made everyone forget that Mu Deok wasn't the real Mu Deok, Naksu had stolen Mu Deok's body to escape her punishment for being an assassin.
I was always wondering when they were going to address the fact that Naksu was using Jin Ho-Gyeong's daughter as a host body, she would have never allowed Naksu to continue living in her daughter's body.
technically speaking a love is between naksu and jang uk.. body is of mu-deok/bu-jeon.. how these two bodies and souls be separated and saved and also the reunion of naksu and jang uk is what I am looking forward to
As far as i can remember, Naksu did not steal Buyeon's body. It was Buyeon who trapped Naksu's soul inside her body, and even prevented her from casting spells and using energy. But, I'm still confused as to why Buyeon did that, she was technically helping Naksu. The reason is still unknown to me though, but i know for a fact that it was against Naksu's will to be trapped inside the body of Buyeon/Mu Deok.
So, saying that she stole Mu Deok's body, just doesn't sound right. We all know that since the beginning, she already planned on moving to another body, she always thought that Mu Deok's body was too weak for her.
The ending may be a bit rushed because for a fantasy historical drama, 20 episode is too short. Dramas like this would most likely reach 30-40 episodes, can even be 50 or more, depending on how the plot runs. So i think we should wait for the second season to find answers to some of our questions.
I love it. If it wasn't getting more episodes, I could understand being annoyed with it but knowing there's more to the story? It was BRILLIANT. The show has phenomenal pacing to begin with. It built up so well, giving us just enough info each episode to keep us interested without revealing too much. It all comes together in an EPIC climax in episode 19. Episode 20 comes across as a "happy ending" episode which ties up all the loose ends... and then everything comes crashing down.
I, for one, think this finale was genius. Maybe that's because I wasn't necessarily in this series for the romance or happy endings; I don't mind that stuff if it's not overdone but great storytelling is always my priority, even if the ending is tragic or unexpected.
Naksu clearing four seasons easily lol. she fought danggu and choyeon who both are still ryusu, i want to see her fight uk and yul who both are on chisu level that would be an epic fight
Naksu is the most powerful mage in their generation, she mastered Chisu and and perfected Tansu.
but we gotta agree both choyeon and danggu weren't in their best state here. they're most likely confused with what's going on and unsure whether to just hurt and kill off mudeok, especially danggu. i just know they have more powers than what they've shown in this scene

Naksu mentioned that she was the strongest mage of their generation, she reached Chisu faster than Park Jin did and she is known for her famous spell Tansu who can break Mountain Rocks and kill her enemy in one blow. She easily killed the Soul Shifter Master Kang with 1 blow of her Tansu using her sword, she fought 30+ Songrim mages on the first episode whose level is higher than the 4 seasons I presume since Park Jin brought them with him to kill the Shadow Assassin. She got hit by Park Jin’s arrow but was still able to slice his sword on a 1 on 1 fight, was able to get away and performed the alchemy of souls after the fight despite being chased by Songrim mages. She was the formidable warrior amongst the 4. Even Master Lee knows of her power and was thankful that a divine priestess is housing the soul of a powerful assassin if not, hell would break lose in Daeho.
The mu deok that we know and uk fell in love with is literally naksu. It will be literally weird if uk be not with his lovers real appearance /body. Also don’t worry every actor/actress have to test their chemistry together if they were not fitted thet wouldn’t even be con drama .

I saw the behind the scenes for these fights and Jung So Min literally danced through the practice- i wonder if, when she studied Classical Korean dance she ever practiced or Performed the sword dance? There are videos of the traditional Korean Sword dance on You Tube. the artist seem like beautiful but lethal fairies.
Dude, they had no idea they were fighting Naksu. Not even Songrim leader fought Naksu all alone. He had a high skilled backup group of mages with him. Even, Mu-Deok body enhances Naksu's powers and skills to its highest level. Not sure why Bu-Yeon (aka Mu Deok) wasn't able to stop Naksu from being mentally controlled by that dark mage. Right now we have Naksu in Bu-Yeon (aka Mu Deok's body) and also Bu-Yeon souls in the same body. Bu-Yeon is immortal at this point.
that's right because the last part of the true love story is mudeok or jin byeong with mudeok's body, the face of desire and the soul of jin soel ran so the mudeok never disappears until the end of episode 2. and jang uk and jin byeong have to start a new love for a new life because desire died while talking at the lake with jang uk's parting last words "I love you"
This scene hurt me so much. How twisted to have his daughters’ body (Bu-yeon) kill him and how betrayed Dang-Gu who has always liked Mu-Deok as a friend feels/looks and hesitated to kill her still believing in her. Agh!!!! Between this and the last Mu-Deok / Jang Uk interaction my heart shattered. I need the second season out and waiting until December is killiiiiiing me 😭

This series is so ridiculously good. I both LOVED and hated this finale. Loved it because it was so genius and well-done, but hated to see everything fall apart! Then, I loved it again because it's setting things up for a KILLER season 2. Then, I remember that Dang-gu and Cho-yeon are just about the last people in this series that deserve this.
Just a phenomenal series! This is my third K-drama and man, between this and Extraordinary Attorney Woo, it just ain't fair for most shows because those two set the bar so high for me haha

They ruined the second season to be honest, we know the plot is focused mainly on Jank-Uk but that doesn’t mean they don’t show other powerful female characters. It was such a let-down, they turned Naksu into a weak helpless naive woman in the second season.

I'm sorry to break this to you but Jang Uk was never in love with Bu-Yeon or Mudeok, he was in love with Naksu not the body and the face Naksu was shifted into.
Mudeok is never Jang Uk lover to begin with. The soul inside that body is Naksu so wether u like ot or not Jang Uk will end up with Naksu. If he end up with Buyeon/Mudeok, that's like a new love story. Lol

Personally I loved the ending. Most k-drama's ( or alteast the ones I've seen ) have had a happy ever after. This is different and I loved it. I'm really excited for season 2, and I'm really excited for the other actress as well. ( she was honestly cool as fuck in the first episode)

I finished watching Season 1 of "Alchemy" today. Overall, I enjoyed this drama series. I did perceive and anticipated on a different ending. For example, I envisioned Mu-deok having been reunited with her mother and sister. I saw Jang Uk and Mu-deok being lovers who leave the martial/sorcery world. As in "Return of the Condor Heroes," it's taboo for the master (Siu Lung Nui) to fall in love with her pupil (Yeurng Gor). There wasn't that climax. Haven't seen and don't plan to watch Season 2 as I heard that it did not have the same caliber of performances as Season 1. Also, it does not have Jung So-min as the lead actress. I think she gave stellar performances. "Alchemy of Souls" is a drama that incorporates elements from "Return of the Condor Heroes," "The Matrix," "Harry Potter," and "Game of Thrones."

The story is all about Naksu and Jank UK love story and they make it very clear since the beginning of the first episode
Jan UK was fascinated by Naksu power without even knowing her personally so he recognized her while her soul was trapped in Jin buyeon body
It is a very beautiful story with a lot of emotions but the story line is beautiful
And both actress portrayed Naksu and Jin buyeon very well
In the last season the actress where more Jin Buyeon than Naksu she was quiet lovely and innocent in contrast which the first season where the actress where stronger powerful and cold blooded really Naksu shadow assassin character

They thought they are watching sweet rom coms. It's titled Alchemy of Souls, it's fantasy drama has something to do with sorcery, mages, fighters and a shadow assassin. Romance was just another ingredient.
I actually knew it's going to be sad ending the moment I saw the part 2 in development.
Theyre angry because of plot holes and inconsistencies in the final episode. Characters acting out of character, convenient plot devices, etc. Im not that mad about the ending but seeing it objectively, it really was disappointing. The bell thing was the biggest bullshit in the story. It wasnt mentioned before nor foreshadowed then suddenly here we are at the last episode this thing suddenly appears then conveniently controls the main character whom we know possess a body of a powerful priestess. If the villain had the bell all along alot of problems wouldnt have occured for them like eunuch kim who ran amock and caused problems for them, they couldve use the bell to keep him under control.
@@mirnasilla7423 You have a good point, the episode felt really rushed about that, but since there is part 2 coming I would expect them to go deeper into controlling souls through that bell. So in my opinion, this is perfect part 1 ending for people to desperately wait for part 2 and then continue the story.

Uhm, Dang Gu and Cho Yeong is Ryusu level and Naksu is Chisu level which is higher than Ryusu, how can they defeat an assassin who killed multiple songrim mages and had a head to head with the songrim leader lol. Naksu was the feared assassin of Daeho for she was a formidable warrior and unbeatable assassin. He mastered chisu faster than Park Jin did.

@Pranith A Chisu level mage can destroy jinyowoon relics, in EP 6, Naksu was trapped in the Mirror of Longing since Buyeon’s body neutralizes her power, they need to have someone who mastered the highest levels of Chisu which Park Jin and Naksu already achieved, Park Jin was not allowed to go inside Jinyowoon because he was a high level mage and jinyowoon somehow weakens the power of a mage it is inside but if the rekord are outside, it can be destroyed by a high level mage because the barrier that projects the relics which is Jinyowoon is no longer there, so Naksu can destroy a relic if it is outside the Jinyowoon quarters.
It woukd have been a sight to see if jin cho yeon and mu deok fought more
Whyy hong sisters.. and I'm pissed because they show us in some episode that buyeon did take over her body, so where is she when this happened.. buyeon is high priestess and after all there are two souls in one body..
Btw, i do think somin will still present in 2nd season but not as main character as in season 1.. her mother still waiting for buyeon to return..

Disappointed ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️... It's way out of logic.. there are many ways to create a story without destroying the plot and characters just to please the entry of another character (Naksu)... How could the writers reward us with a tragic ending after patiently waiting for months!!! You think I'll waste more weekends to watch disappointing moments that are way out of balance?? No way.. if this how you are ending a beautiful story, you can have the next season all by yourselves...
exactly what i was thinking, to be frank they didnt even really need a season 2 for this drama. i think i would of been better off with one season. honestly i think i would only watch season two to see the reunion of Bu-Yeon and her mother.

I wish a different writer would make a sequel better then the hong sisters. These sister have sinester plan to hook the people in their story making. Putting characters and storyline into bad light so people would want justice to the wrong ending and be hook by their storylines eventually making tons of money in the process. If someone would do a better happy ending someone who is typical korean happy ending unlike these Hong sister who i think are chinese learned writers. So that this hong sisters will lose following then those new writers would gain fame and following thus removing manopoly. This is now an opportunity for other writers to redeem the wrong ending of the hongs.

I am mad and couldn’t sleep. I won’t watch Hong sister’s drama anymore. Daughter killed her own farther in front of her sister., and then killed her beloved. Is this some kind of horrified drama? It hurts my mental health, and not good for any young kids. However, all the actors and actresses are great. Made this drama bearable.

It was Naksu who killed him not Buyeon. Plus that guy wasn't even Buyeon's biological father. And the drama is classified as gore and rated 16+. Why would children watch it.

Yul’s Chisu will not match up to her considering she did not have a proper Master while the four season a were trained by the best Masters of Daeho.

I found this drama to be tedious and corny. In fact it was hard to struggle though I cant face another season on this. I think Korean drama has defiantly gone backwards a lot. I used to really enjoy Korean dramas but they are just getting to weird and ridiculous. Not even good scripts and just dragged on and on and on.
Right! All that talking and comedy and we only got around 6 small fights in the entire season. They ruined it. I wanted to stop watching after episode 4 because of all the useless talking
