As a 20 year old in the early 80s coming down from the dizzy heights of punk, I saw talk talk as a teenagers boy band. I was wrong. Think watching the montreux gig on dvd really changed my mind. What a brilliant band. Even at this early start you can hear how great they were on each instrument. Never been a voice like mark hollis, just other worldly
Talk Talk is in a league of their own. So many beautiful lyrics and melodies, and Mark's voice is a perfect expression.❤ All are excellent and passionate players !
I kinda missed Simon Brenner. Lovely synth player, some beautiful lines inthe early TT tunes. In fact, for me, 'The Party's Over' is the best synth riff ever, It's that good. Anyway, wondrous band, and RIP Mark.
Mark Hollis fenséges hangja, zenéje, örök szerelem. A legjobbak a világon! Édes Drága Márk, Isten vigyázzon gyönyörű lelkedre abban a másik világban!💔💔💔💔💔💔 Ps: Undorító, hogy reklámokkal szentségtelenítik!
Great upload, don’t think I have ever heard these versions. ‘Today’ is awesome & Renee years before it release. RIP Mark, I intend to listen for the rest of my days.
OMG! That version of Renee is staggering. Why on earth did they wait until the second album to put it out? Really good session. Full props to the poster. Nice one.
Yeah ... Renee is good... listen to the Montreax Festival version too... very gutsy/emotional.... me thinks he was missing someone whilst on tour.... x
Really? for me it's missing its most vital ingredient. The spine chilling piano/clavi counter melodies during the chorus. Almost atonal, really left field, beautiful notes and I would be surprised if those notes hadn't originally come from Mark.

Should have kept the sweet piano rhythm on "Magic Moments" for the final version of "Today". Makes the studio version sound a bit stagnant by comparison.
Forse sei andato, forse dovevi andare !
Dear me, if only the day after your fifth birthday you could have magically developed ears so sharp your hearing could pierce through space and reach this session. It was happening, and you had no idea! Who could you have become?
The BBC London shows were in FM but not for the first half hour / hour (dependent when) so you were desperate for them not to plan session tracks early... I have quite a few session from that time where there are 3 tracks like this & one as hissy as fuk....

Everything Talk Talk did was timeless and hypnotic.

Totalement d'accord ! Je les écoute presque d'une manière religieuse !
Lee Harris is unreal. One of the best drummers ever
Concordo, ho iniziato a suonare la batteria grazie a lui.
He was a performance all by himself to watch. Plus Lee Harris was absolutely science fiction gorgeous back then. Such energy 😮.
Lee Harris 's energy was unmatched!!!
Lee Harris was absolutely the best drummer that I ever watched from the UK. Lee was also science fiction beautiful to watch.
I totally agree. He is amazing and cute too. LOL
Mark Hollis' voice is simply sublime! What a great session! Thanks for upload!

Mark and Simon were the original duo who made the first demos. Bass and drums were recruited later.
