Always good stuff, sir! I'm still crossing my fingers you do a DEEP DIVE into rhythm and groove ideas in the future! Trust me -- Nothing on the entire internet really covers the secret human element stuff. I know you pros are all bouncing around strings and claw finger grabbing and rolling your ring finger onto the 4 chord triad and holding and little nuances like that. I can't tell you how many times I sit with my drummer buddy and he asks me to lay a groove down but I struggle to come up with something I haven't done a million times. He does the same thing as a drummer. We are both a bit stuck and play along to a PA (Extremely loud) with songs and freestyle over them....We are good enough to have fun but I'm always looking for pointers to move forward. (Then I think to myself, I just need another joint....sometimes that works) Teach us Tao Master Dave!!!! You're our only hope!!!
I hear you man and I agree that rhythm playing is widely skipped over on TH-cam. Maybe it’s because it’s translates so much better when playing with people in a real space. It’s great that you are working with other musicians in this area and I’m sure that will work out if you all stick to it. I am working on a video right now to try and take this deeper than just pointing the camera at my hands. Like using a simple sequencer beat to help divide out the measures, etc. Hang in there… And yes, every little bit helps 4🔥20😎
@@TaoOfTwangGuitarLessons So so true!!!! Playing with other musicians is so incredibly helpful. Those are the nuances you cannot teach - I get that. I just overthink EVERYTHING. The other guitarist I play with is in his 60s (I am 43) He was a session guitarist and recording artist and played live since he was 15....However, he is NOT a teacher lol. I am 3 years in and have to remind myself I am above average or right where I should be with my progress and we do it just to have fun after our day jobs.... We may go out and gig eventually but primarily like to have a whiskey and a bit of smoke and just have fun! Thanks again Dave!
You know I used to listen to a lot of country and I can say that I've never heard this song before. But that lead in part sounds a little bit like Johnny Cash
Dave, please do a follow up. Love that you are presenting popular grooves as a way to teach techniques with just a touch of theory
Will do anther session on this one...by prowler demand 😎🎸☮

Nice Mike! You are seeking out some great chord tones and I can tell you are really trusting your ear. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing with us 🙏
My band plays this song occasionally....I think I lifted it from a Warren Haynes/Chris Robinson jam
It's a good one. Great to hear from you Gary! 😎🎸
Oh yeah Dave, I just wanted you to know that I am noticing that stuff keeps changing on that wall behind you
You been smoking anything? 😎
