Something that’s a real differentiator on this channel is that these are great jam tracks by themselves BEFORE we even get into the treasure-mining lesson. Gracias!
hey Dave your output has taken off in the number of tutorials you are doing these last few months! Such awesome content too. Thanks for the commitment.
Thank you for another eye opening lesson. Your channel is full of treasures that has really helped me understand in a practical way what is going on with a guitar fretboard.
Hi Dave, I really enjoy your lessons and your unique style of presentation, I could watch and listen all day. Your channel is a true gem in the sea of online guitar instruction. Please keep them coming, I will definitely be making donations to show my appreciation and hopefully help keep things rolling. Thank you for the great content!
Awesome lesson Dave! FOr me the most difficult is to be aware of the chord is ocurring right now and when the next is coming to land on a sweet note and anticipate it by counting and landing/targeting on the beat one of that chord, could you help us to accomplish that issue? Thanks so much in advance!
@Rafa everyone goes through this, that is a big part of the process. It will come through repetition. I always start by playing the chords until I'm comfortable with the progression. Then I identify the chord tones I'm after and work those in.
@@andyford8359 thank you my friend! yes, I recognize learning to play guitar is a long process, the more you play the more you learn, that is so true ;-) best wishes for all...
Love the lessons. A C D G chords. Is this in the key of G or D? My take away is playing Am pent, then accenting w the major 3 occasionally. Always looking forward to the new lessons and rewatching the older ones
It's in the key of A (mixolydian) with the bIII (C) - chord being borrowed from A-dorian (a so called modal interchange). Or in other words: There's no key in which these 4 chords "naturally" occur. But I get your angle. If you just LOOK at the chords you might just think that C and D could be IV and V in G, or G and A IV and V in D. But if you LISTEN to the progression you - of course - want to end it on an A-chord. The only reason why the Am-pentatonic works is because, after a century of the blues, our ears got used to the rubbing of minor against major thirds, non resolving dominant seventh chords and imperfectly bent fourths.
We all land on "buried treasure" when we hit the play button on Tao of Twang

It was me! Thanks for the rockin' lesson. I really appreciate your playing and your lessons.

@@allatsea2746 TY - I appreciate it. I haven’t breached that level of theory yet.
Maybe a goal for 2023 or maybe not 😂
Great analysis! Thanks for helping with this 🙏
