I really like your 2020 R/T. Nice overall appearance with the contrast of the wheels against the black body. Models with color keyed wheels lost that contrast and it takes the overall appearance down to this old hotrodder. I was a Mustang/Cougar fan for decades but gave it up around '95/'96. The retro Challenger reignited the urge and I bought a white 2013 R/T 6 speed base model for my retirement present. It's my toy, driven just for fun, no mundane duty. It has full coverage insurance along with liability on my 2003 Trailblazer for about $64 monthly. Plenty of power to have lots of fun and I don't thrash or trash it. I live in the country and don't drive in the city much so my average mileage is 21-22 mpg. I've studied the cruising economy at 55 mph (33 mpg), 65 mph (28 mpg) and 70 mph (27 mpg). Far out compared to the old days. Runs just fine on 87 octane but you can feel some more ponies on board with 89 or 91/93. Mine has the 3.73 limited slip but in 6th gear it cruises at 1650-1700 rpm's. Also the 5.7's don't shut down any cylinders in the manual tranny models. Not into racing anymore and I don't need to heat my tire's, and doing donuts is just plain silly to me, so my 245's are just fine. I don't have complaint one after 7 years of ownership. I think the SXT and R/T fit the bill for most folks. At $28,500 out the door in 2012 I got a deal I'm very happy with. Wish you the best with yours!
Thanks for the great video, you definitely earned an extra subscriber. The challenger is my dream car, but I’ve always wondered what the gas mileage is and how well it can do with the gasoline in a week in both city and highway. If you can do a video on that, it will be much appreciated
Perfect muscle car for the money. I've literally had them all, '14 RT 5.7, two 392 Scats and two Hellcats. From what I have learned is that you can have more fun with the RT's than you can with the Hellcats on the street. The Hellcat's put out so much power that you can't use it all without getting in some serious trouble so you mostly drive them around not using 90% of the power. With the RT's you can drive them around and use all of the power and have fun with the car.
markurbancowboy Hell yeah after I drove my brothers hellcat I had no idea why people would get a red eye, like the regular hellcat already ha: way too much power for the street I personally feel like.
@@dawg4769 Yep. My Redeye will go sideways on you at 60mph and that's not even flooring it. The RT's will get loose on you too but not at those speeds.

I just picked one up a week ago. I’m obsessed!! And for those who wonder how loud this car actually is stock, the camera does it no justice. It’s WAY louder and aggressive in person.

I agree that the stock exhaust sounds great. After about half a year of owning my new 18 RT Plus, I decided to go for a muffler delete. I loved it...but it was a little too rowdy for me. I instead went for the Dynomax Race Bullet Minis and man...it almost gives the same sound as the muffler delete, but on a more refined level. Very nice review. I just picked up a 2017 octane red 5 7 rt 3 days ago. I have driven and owned several high performance V8 cars in my life, including my current 700 hp 2000 Camaro as well. Good review on a great entry level V8 Challenger! I drove an RT 5.7 for years, then I upgraded to the 392 Challenger a year ago instead of modding. The ZF 8 Speed is excellent with the Dynamics Package.
Brah, I just bought one of these identical to this one here in Germany. I’m having a blast with it on the autobahn over here! Did Sport Mode today and the exhaust note changed unbelievable! Thanks for the review. Maybe some content coming from me later after I purchase my Go-Pro set up.
I'm in the process of buying another Challenger 5.7 ... This is my go to video because , I feel that these guys are honest and totally star struck ... They do admit that their into foreign cars , they had no idea what to expect ... In the past I've owned two 5.7's and a 6.4 SRT ... This video has closed the deal on a new 5.7 model for me ... Now I just have to pick a color ... Thanks guys !!!
Yeah we honestly were taken back by this car. I drive a tuned gti and wes drives a mustang GT and the 5.7 ram 1500. Never really driven a challenger until this point, and I fell in love with it haha. But I’m glad we can be of assistance to help you find your car! Good luck with your purchase, hopefully you can take advantage of buying it during this pandemic. Dealers are pushing sales like crazy.

I bought my 2015 R/T manual with super track pack new. I have owned higher horsepower cars but this car is so much fun, comfortable, dependable, an gets 26 mpg on the highway. Sure there are faster cars..... there will always be. It’s a great daily driver.

I work for a Tier One supplier and can assure you the way auto transmissions are programmed today, they shift faster than any manual or faster than any move you make with the paddle shifters. Just leave in drive and go. The paddle shifters are a gimmick
Oh 100% man. These computers cannot be beat. That’s why when ppl hate on my auto gti yet they drive manual. I’ll always win. It’s incredible the way the future is going with these trans
The stock RTs sound much louder than the stock scat packs. 17 up RTs have the active exhaust and dodge also sends them out with either a muffler delete or a smaller muffler from the previous years,. A little more “show” than “go” imo but who cares it looks and sounds incredible. The 15/16 RTs beg for aftermarket exhaust it’s embarrassing
16 mpg in town 33 mpg on hwy. DRINKING GAS??? There are people riding 4 cyl. ECO-CRAP that do not get that good.?? I will take the" boat" drinking gas any day.
@Mike Gee When you get older like the number after Coldstart you will see an increase in MPG. An old pal of mine thought that it was reading wrong so we did it the old fashion way and it was identical.. I have got as high as 34.3 at 68MPH on cruise. It is a hell of a boat.

Great video! I personally am a V6 challenger owner, and decided to buy the V6 because of how smooth and comfortable the drive was, as well as the gas mileage since I’m in college at the moment and want to save money for a higher model. With that being said, I had a choice between buying a 2016 R/T or a 2018 SXT but could go no higher than $26,000. I decided to test drive a scat pack to see if it was worth buying the V6 to save up money and buy the more powerful engine, and then I test drove the R/T. While the R/T was fun to drive, that’s all it was to me. Nothing to lose your mind about. So I decided to buy the SXT which was fully loaded, and wait on the more powerful engine. The scat pack was everything I wanted it to be and more. The R/T is for someone who craves the hemi sound and feel, and wants to use up the 375 horsepower on the weekend. If you’re looking to be fast, get a scat pack. The R/T’s and SXT’s are fast cars don’t get me wrong, but they aren’t fast enough to beat much...
Thank you! And that’s very understandable seems like you have your goals aligned which is great. Yeah very well said if I had the money I would 100% by the scat pack!
I've had my 18 RT Plus for a year now and it's been fun since day 1. Bought her brand new. Sounds like you have your priorities straight. However, in reference to your last statement "aren't fast enough to beat much", there are people like myself who couldn't care less who's faster. No matter how fast of a car you get, there will always be someone faster. Bought a scatpack? Dude down the street got a hellcat. Bought a hellcat? Oh, dude across town's got a demon. That's why I just cruise in mine and use some of the power when on the interstate. I'll leave all the illegal racing and tire spinning to the meatheads
Please don't compare a R/T to a SXT. "The R/T’s and SXT’s are fast cars don’t get me wrong, but they aren’t fast enough to beat much..." that's so laughable. The SXT is a V6 and it doesn.t come close to a R/T..... not at all. If you don't own or never owned a R/T then you have no say so. I've onw a Scat Pac for 2 years and traded it in for a R/T Hemi 5.7...... the SXT compared to the R/T is a big joke because you can't compare the two.
As a lifelong Mustang fan, I find myself wanting an RT manual more and more.. it's the perfect Muscle car with all the modern amenities. Think I'll be getting one in the next few months before our terrible government tries to ban ICE vehicles completely.. Lol.

I thought my ‘14 RT Challenger was QUIET stock. Cut the resonators and mufflers off, now that Hemi is awake. I’ve always ran 93 in mine, never paid attention to the mileage I get
Yeah that’s a common first mod is the resonator and muffler delete. I’m sure it sounds so good! But yeah depending on how you drive etc they don’t get the best mpg’s but still a super fun car
@@RatchetWrenches For sure, it already sounds like a beast flooring it without the mufflers, and the headers will give me a big hp boost. Headers making the car louder is a nice plus
@@16adrianrico depends on what you want. If you want to spend the extra money for a special exhaust personally I'd go with the magnaflow exhaust. The cheaper option which still sounds great is chopping off all the mufflers, the car sounds like a beast ripping through gears and if you leave the resonators/cats its still quiet when just cruising. The only thing a muffler delete leaves to be desired is neutral revving, it's good not great

It seems Chrysler has slightly improved the exhaust sound. And I guess for the 2020 models, they have also decided to get rid of the silencer tube on the intake.
Everyone sleeps on the 5.7 hemi til they get gapped by one. And no I’m not saying it’s the fastest engine out there, but they are for surely not near the slowest.
I have a 2016 scat pack 392 hemi with the shaker hood in plum crazy purple and it’s in a six speed manual and I absolutely love it It has 5360 miles on it.
You owned both? Thinking of getting the 6.4 .... locked in for the 5.7 RT tho. Thx
@@D_Dowg626 The SRT is great if you can drive it hard ... If you just want some great power , the 5.7 is enough ...
UPDATE : I am happy to report that I purchased a 2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary 5.7 in two tone black ... I was so impressed with this video and your car. , that it was my obvious choice ... Many thanks guys !!!
R/T black
I bought my 2015 R/T manual with super track pack new. I have owned higher horsepower cars but this car is so much fun, comfortable, dependable, an gets 26 mpg on the highway. Sure there are faster cars..... there will always be. It’s a great daily driver.
Couldn’t agree more!
The factory sound, sounds amazing.
Couldn’t agree more!
i just switched from a 2000 mustang v6 to a 2011 challenger rt v8 and i say that i love them both
The best 0-60 I got with my 19 rt manual is 5.4 seconds. Damn that auto puts the power down nice!
That’s not bad tho, and yeah auto shifts are way too fast
It’s the best daily driver, love it ...
That's my car!! Love the 2020 rt I daily drive my challenger an hour to work and the ride is amazing
Dang you’re lucky! I honestly still can’t get over how beautiful it sounds and how comfortable it really is!
How much u spend on gas weekly?
Between 150 and 200 $
@@dissomeboolshiethowsyourda3443 how many miles a week do you travel??
That 5.7 is enough power for me 💪🏾✊🏾especially for a daily summer car!!!!!
Hell yeah! Couldn’t agree more
@@RatchetWrenches I’m renting one right now here in Orlando!!!!! Super fast and fun !!!!!! Shit kinda scared me one time !!!! Rear end got some power especially in sport mode 🤣😎✊🏾💪🏾💪🏾💯💯💯💯💯I want one now
4.8 zero -sixty time on cold pavement with cold tires.. wow!! That car looks and sounds awesome!
Right not bad! And I really sounds amazing!
As a Civic guy I cannot wait to buy one of these!
They’re def polar opposites for sure but yeah this thing is a beast!
I have a 2011 RT classic I love to drive it around and it is everyday driver it is very fun
Gary Farquervincent that’s awesome! Yeah we enjoyed our time with this beast !
2020 dodge challenger rt is my new target car.
freshfade28 yeah man! After we drove this and made this video I was thinking the same thing
This is my dream car. I shipout to the Army basic training on January 5th so I will be able to save up for it in the future.
Good luck with saving for it and thank you for serving our country 🇺🇸
@@RatchetWrenches thanks man!
Got this car yesterday same everything except its the 2021 year model
I'm enjoying every moment driving it no regrets . Mopar :-)
Oh hell yeah! Enjoy it and best of luck!
Thanks bro , just a little update after two years .. The car still rocks , best purchase I ever made 💪@RatchetWrenches
@@foreigncreations1793 Must have been a Scat Pack or Hellcat. Worst I EVER got in my Charger R/T was 14 in traffic in city.
@@foreigncreations1793 Be careful young man. It gives you a better chance to make 76yrs. and also have more money. Don't be like me when I was a Youngsta---Did not listen much. LOL

The 5.7 is good on gas..the 6.4 and 6.2 are pigs
Lol.
I don't blame you! I'd definitely get one if you can afford it!!
Take your floor mat out before a race the extra half inch makes a huge difference
great review guys!..i am getting a 2020 RT Plus....had a 2009 RT bought brand new with a manual, but this time i am going with the automatic because of the ZF auto...best transmission in the business!
Thank you! You’re gonna enjoy it, exactly that trans is a monster! The shifts are faster than a blink of the eye. We have a manual mustang and honestly that auto RT is just as fun to drive!
I live about 20 min drive from where they build these vehicles, up here in Toronto...surprised that the U.S is not building these!..since it is an American Muscle Car
Love my 2019 RT! She sounds great and sooo fun to drive!
I bet! I wish this was our car because it was a blast!
Bought a 2022 Dodge Challenger R/T black with blacktop package. Added Hellcat cold air intake and a performance chip and its a 6 speed manual. That car will haul ass for weighing 4100lbs! Best sounding stock exhaust I've ever heard! Car is a freakin blast
That sounds awesome! Yeah they are really fun muscle cars even for being so heavy and sounds incredible too
Did they finally change the R/T motor I'm only familiar with the old crate rt engine, but god damn that sounds like an SRT
Mal.Z borla designed active exhaust cones stock with 17+
Sounds badass🔥🔥🔥🔥
Right! For stock I couldn’t believe it
Such a beautiful car. Love it. Good review guys.
06600110 thank you! And it truly is a work of art!
i think dodge made the r/t’s louder now because my 2016 r/t was quiet af until i did muffler n reso delete now its a beast
Interesting, but yeah man this thing is loud stock. I bet with the muff delete this thing will sound wicked
Active exhaust became standard on R/Ts in 2017.
I love my 5.7, muffler deletes and I'm gonna get headers soon
That’s gonna sound nasty!
@@RatchetWrenches For sure, it already sounds like a beast flooring it without the mufflers, and the headers will give me a big hp boost. Headers making the car louder is a nice plus
I have a 19 rt is it worth getting mid muffler delete? Or should I just get a new exhaust..borla ATAK??
@@16adrianrico depends on what you want. If you want to spend the extra money for a special exhaust personally I'd go with the magnaflow exhaust. The cheaper option which still sounds great is chopping off all the mufflers, the car sounds like a beast ripping through gears and if you leave the resonators/cats its still quiet when just cruising. The only thing a muffler delete leaves to be desired is neutral revving, it's good not great
You can tell he really loves his car haha, congrats man
Thank you! Unfortunately it’s not actually our car, we were just lucky enough to enjoy it for the day!
Really aggressive the starting of the dodge challenger RT . And i like its design, drive and the amazing exhaust sound. I am gonna get my challenger RT within few days 👍👍👍
Right! It sounds amazing. But awesome good luck with it!
I feel left out having a 2011 se 😢
I just bought a 22 and I love this car! It sounds so good ! I didn't know the stock exhaust sounded this good and it's fast !
That's awesome! We didn't either and we're shocked, Dodge did a great job with that exhaust
Nice videos gentlemen! I love my daily driver - '18 RT Plus Shaker 6spd with 4pstn Brembo and for speed a '02 996tt 6spd. I enjoy listening to your opinions on the car, a different perspective.
They are fun cars that's for sure! Yeah everyone will have a differing opinion thanks 👍🏼
I hear a redesign will be coming in 2023 what you think ? I think it’s a handsome car but it does need a new look
ANTHONY HUDSON I haven’t seen it yet I’ll look into it but I agree I think a nice new design could be great Aslong as it’s sleek and not a mistake like the new bmw design 🤢
Ratchet Wrenches I hundred percent agree the new BMWs are just messed up they look like A Lexus IS
i love this car this is my dream car for life
Awesome sounding car for being stuck with a 5.7LHemi wicked ! Beautiful looking car too !!
It really had a great sound to this car! I agree though it’s pretty damn gorgeous haha
Cool car. Definately great that they kept the same design
It definitely is a cool and sharp looking car! Love the design overall
I bought the 2015 RT Plus new. My stock exhaust was no where close to this. I wish it was!
Pete N yeah I think it’s a new thing for 2020, it sounds so good I couldn’t believe it was stock
I will be getting one this year
Nice! They are fun cars for sure
Great video! Once I put wider tires I never spin when launching which obviously allows you to get better 0-60's. 275's I still spun at bit so I finally went with 315's.
Perry Beaulieu can those go on the stock rims?
Whats best Time?
It seems Chrysler has slightly improved the exhaust sound. And I guess for the 2020 models, they have also decided to get rid of the silencer tube on the intake.
Good job guys! I want one of these but probably with a manual.
RJ thanks! And yeah if we were to buy one it’ll totally be manual as well!
i like the 2020 hemi badge on the sides
So do we they are nice!
Is that a new type of exhaust system compared to the older RT?
Cass Cassy definitely yes because the older gens weren’t this loud straight from the factory
Sounds amazing 👏
Couldn’t agree more! I was truly shocked at how good it sounded
I work for Enterprise so I drive these from time to time.
Haha I used to rent from them all the time.. this possibly being one of them lol was a very fun car!
In my opinion the 5.7 sounds better than my 6.4 scat pack.
Really? That’s interesting but yeah we were very surprised of how well the stock exhaust sounds on the 5.7
Love the hemis I have a 2019 Dodge Durango RT I love it plenty of power n sounds great
Right! And I actually heard a Durango the other day and it sounded beautiful! Dodge is doing things right haha
L. F. L. Loud, Fast, & Loud! 🇺🇸 gotta love it, What ah Gun Boat!!

Everyone sleeps on the 5.7 hemi til they get gapped by one. And no I’m not saying it’s the fastest engine out there, but they are for surely not near the slowest.
Exactly! Couldn’t agree more
I just realized the passenger was in the video with his buddy about “ What the fox says” 😂😂😂😂 with the Deer on the roof!
I have a 2016 scat pack 392 hemi with the shaker hood in plum crazy purple and it’s in a six speed manual and I absolutely love it
It has 5360 miles on it.
From what I can find only 126 were made in plum crazy purple with a manual transmission in the United States!!!
I like the sound of the 5.7 sounds amazing but in my personal opinion the 392 6.4 sounds better
I want to lease a rt this spring
I don’t blame you! After having this car for a couple days it kinda sold itself on me
@@RatchetWrenches I'm hoping theres some good deals this summer or spring..I was priced 390$ a month last year 0 down...right now there hard to find with the plants closed..I'm forced to wait..who knows when things will fire back up

Don’t lease bro that shit is a scam, just save up and put a down payment trust me 🤘🏻
Damn the 2020s have a lowered stance and I think they put a active exhaust on them too
They started active exhaust in 2017 for all V8 models.
KingDing919 I knew it sounded better than my December ‘16 R/T. Missed it by that much.
I'm looking into buying a Challenger! Man I'm sold!
They're awesome cars!
The hood changed from the 2 little vents to the center scoop and the exhaust got louder! Are you sure that exhaust is stock?
Gotcha yeah some lil aesthetics. But bone stock! It had like now miles! This was a rental car! Trust me we couldn’t believe that exhaust ourselves 😂
its the active exhaust system on 2017+ models i believe
After having 2 V8 Mustangs, 2 Trans Ams, Charger R/T, I bought a new 2022 Challenger R/T and I modded all of the prior cars, so I could not believe how amazing the stock exhaust sounded on my Challenger. Best sounding stock exhaust I have EVER heard!
It's a great car but man she drinks gasoline lol I like the duo review!
Very true she’s a thirsty girl hah but thanks man!
If you get less than 2k rpm your running on 4cylinders
@@zells8303 Engines that feature cylinder shutdown are and have only been available with automatic transmissions. Mine (2013) has the 6 speed manual, 5th & 6th gears are highway OD gears. Would you recommend as a daily driver? Lets say I drive 25 miles to work and back? I currently have a v6 challenger, but all challenger drivers once they upgraded to a v8 they say get a v8
I drove an SXT for 3 years and it was a fun car . I averaged 28 mpg, but recently traded it in for an RT Plus and have no regrets. I'm averaging 24 mpg and the RT is a blast to drive.
Are they all. black or white? Seems like that where I am.
I’m not truly sure. I have seen a red one though.
@@RatchetWrenches There are other colors, but not nearly as many are black and white in AZ. I wanted one in plum crazy, but couldn't find a new one and they discontinued it, so I said screw it. Dealers here just want to sell what they have on the lot. They get weird about ordering anything.
James L oh yeah because they know for sure they can move black and white off the lot compared to these other unique colors. I work for vw and worked for previous dealers and honestly they do suck with special ordering cars. It’s a “hassle” for them.
