for the record this video is made before the final was out I just had a thought of making this when I hear the song I didn't dislike the actual ending or something actually I quite like it
This is an ending we wanted, the creators gave us an ending we needed. As satisfying as this is Simon and Betty needed to truly accept that they couldn’t be, that their choices has consequences, and that there are no do overs or corrections in life.
it's funny because every main characters of the show have a happy ending -finn and jake got to be together again forever infinitely reincarnated -pb and marceline are both immortal and happily together -bmo well still bmo.. - fionna and cake now have a atleast a magical world kinda or might become a fully magical world in the future And then we got simon who was trapped as ice king for a thousand years then when he becomes simon again he lost betty , her everything 😢

I think parallels can be drawn between this and "La la Land" wherein the protagonists don't end up together in the end. Driving home feel of realism in this magical world, where sometimes, the ones we find don't stay, and we just have to learn to let them go.
Yeah, I feel like this was a good ending we still got. I do like the idea of them actually like seeing eachother, but hey we have the fact that Simon actually went to therapy in the end, so that’s a big plus. Sometimes, endings with everything working out isn’t the best ending the writers could supply. Endings like this doesn’t make it realistic. Even then, if Simon got her back, he would still be left with all this trauma and stress that he’d need to deal with in a healthy way. The only thing I couldnt really wrap my head around was that Betty was so.. mysterious. Did she fuse with golb?? She was so like- I dunno. Just so mysterious and quiet. If I saw my husband after all this time I would have said or done something. 🤷♀️
@@awe_brey_n_hd1266she behaved like that bc she fused with a god, and this god doesn't seem to have the concept of emotion, this can be the reason why betty said "you were an experience" since, well, a god would have lived for a loooong time
It's not really bold to fridge a woman and reduce her to a prop to facilitate her male counterpart's character arc. It would have been far more subversive if Simon had been able to save Betty, and she decides she wants to live her own life in Fionna's human world or something.

The hug at end has me BALLING my eyes out. Their love for each other, Betty's sacrifices and Simon's realization of all of it...all the "what ifs"...It has such realism to it by showing how life is so short and all the decisions one makes change different routes...I really wish they could have had more time together...I feel so bad that Betty has quite literally given herself up for Simon despite saying she has no regrets..A love so strong that she never asked for anything in return except for his own love of her..
This is the ending we should have gotten 😭😭😭😭 One of my theories was that Simon would stay in 'the void' where Betty was to FINALLY be together, but I understand why they took the route they did.
Betty wouldn't want Simon to stay forever in the void since she wanted him to live life again and it would be impossible for Betty to unfuse with golb since she's now a part of him

Theres a lot i could go into but point being she actually diffuses from golb at the end of that scene, right after she flicks simon away and something something comet. id like to think she and Simon will reincarnate together the same way Finn and Jake will.

I like this a lot, but I also like the canon ending as well since Simon is learning to let Betty go and realizing his mistakes and seeing he isn’t going to be able to change it. This one is pretty good because I like Simon getting a happy ending with Betty since man has had it rough.

I like this. ice king could be confident at times but he also had a habit of being very self deprecating and simon would know betty wouldnt have been in this situation at all if he hadn't called her into the future by trying to say goodbye, or hadn't put on the crown, or hadn't given in to letting hr try to fix him and had died instead, or had dragged her out of golb with him, or as he learned...either got on that bus with her or let her go without him. so him saying he always thought he was bad now he knows that its true because he thinks she's so goodand he's nothing like her rings really interesting in this context sinve he did so many horrible things as iceking and as simon he hadnot noticed she was giving up things for him..and unlike betty he failed to 'save' her..unlike how she did succeed and making his curse go away
This is really nice, good job, the ending we got kinda reminds me of a graphic novel I read a while ago. It's called Kairos by Ulysse Malassagne, it does the whole switcheroo of the standards with the couple not ending up together after everything they went through. It's a good read, I 100% recommend it.

This is sweet, but the cannon ending is the only true and right ending, not because it's the cannon ending, it's just how it is. It was a bittersweet ending but he got to live happily.
True there's a difference to wanting and needing most people when they see a series they see something in there eyes they want to change or alter even when it doesn't make sense like a ending if it's bad and realistic they want to be good and happy or a character passing they want them to live but its just how it is with the writers and how they write the story
Man, I wish this was Canon, like the ending of adventure Time didn't really fits in well with my liking knowing for a fact that Simon will be depressed now that the only person that he loves has finally met.
Given Golb is clearly just an adventuretimization of God as an exclamation developed into something else. It really would have been fun if they continued with that and made a Golbetty that could simultaneously be several persons. Like, Golbetty the Betty ans Golbetty the Golb simultaneously existing. An expression of Golb's great power as well.

In another universe …maybe they did end happily like this✨💕 like Prismo you were inspired by a story to create your own beautiful story ✨ Of course learning to let go and live on, make the best out of the life you been giving a chance at ‘again’ was a bittersweet but yet beautiful epilogue to Simon’s story… In my opinion. Still very beautiful animatic. This song still gets me in the feels ❤🎶
Bad ending of this ending: instead of Betty separating from golb the opposite happens Simon gets sucked into the fusion of golb and Betty making it 3 beings in one body. Simon gets to be with Betty but not in the way he intended.
I don’t think this would’ve been a good ending tbh… these newer adventure time spin offs are shows that have grown up with us a big part of adventure time was the relationships that tied the world together and a big part of growing up is knowing when to let go and learning to let yourself heal. Both Betty and Simon needed to move on and heal and I think the ending we got did just that and was very satisfying
