  • Words cannot describe how stoked I was to test out the new Cobra RAD Driver. Does the Cobra RAD driver out perform my current TaylorMade driver? How does it perform? Is it a wicked long driver? How forgiving is it? These questions and more all get answered here in this video. Could this be my new driver? Watch this full review and find out!

Leave a COMMENT below if you have been considering the Cobra RAD driver, or if you have any questions! I try and produce a less formal review of golf clubs that more average golfers might find of value. If you are someone that appreciates this style of review, please give this video a THUMBS UP!

Welcome to my TH-cam Channel Golf Blog! My name is Matt Williams. I'm an amateur golfer that has only been playing golf consistently for a few years now. Last year I was about an 18 handicap. I was a 16 handicap to start 2020, and now am down to an 8. I started this golf channel for a variety of reasons. 1.) To show viewers what I am doing and working on as I continue my quest to hopefully become a scratch golfer one day. 2.) To review golf clubs/equipment to give people a club review from an amatuer mid-handicap perspective. 3.) To share my ever-growing passion for this beautiful game we call golf. 4.) To just have a ton of fun on the golf course! I sure hope you find all my content useful, helpful, but most of all..... entertaining!

Thanks for the review! I just ordered a Radspeed and it should be delivered today! I'm moving from a 2017 M2.

That’s awesome Mike. Were there other drivers you were comparing it to? Or did you just favor that one out of the gate? You’ll have to come back later and let us know how it’s performing for you after you’ve gamed it for a while.

Hi Ya Matt! I JUST asked if you were going more driver reviews and WHAM...here ya go! Thanks! I will be VERY curious to see a head to head with the Cobra and the Ping G425 (I have hit the G410 and REALLY liked it). Also, when you do a driver fitting can you do a vlog about that...I think it would be really cool to video your club fitting experiences...drivers, irons, etc.! Once quick question, how did the Cobra perform on misses out on the toe and thin (those are my misses...I rarely hit it on the heel side). Oh and I am NOT one to comment on someone's golf swing...FORE RIGHT! LOL

Thanks Mark! Always appreciate your support. Yes, all the things you mentioned and more are forthcoming. Especially some driver head-to-head comparisons. To your question about Cobra forgiveness on toe-side misses, I think it’s pretty darn forgiving. I think I only had one or two during this video, and in both instances, the results were both pretty solid. I got mixed results on those heel side, but I think all in all, no matter where you miss it, the Cobra RAD is a pretty dang forgiving driver. A heck of a lot more forgiving than the new SiM2, but perhaps not quite as forgiving as the Ping G425.

I was frankly pretty surprised how forgiving the RAD was. I thought it was primarily designed for distance. But it is far more than that. It was quite forgiving.

Spin rate and shaft make a difference what was the shaft and loft ?

Yeah, I obviously get that. I said it in the video, but it was a HZRDUS RDX Smoke 6.0 in 70 gram. And it was a 10.5 degree notched down to 10. The driver wasn't fitted to me, this was just my initial test to get a feel for the driver. Thanks!
