The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a 2003 American slasher film directed by Marcus Nispel (in his feature directorial debut), written by Scott Kosar, and starring Jessica Biel, Jonathan Tucker, Erica Leerhsen, Mike Vogel, Eric Balfour, and R. Lee Ermey. Its plot follows a group of young adults traveling through rural Texas who encounter Leatherface and his murderous family. It is a remake of Tobe Hooper's 1974 film of the same name, and the fifth installment in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Several crew members of the original film were involved with the project: Hooper and writer Kim Henkel served as co-producers, Daniel Pearl returned as cinematographer, and John Larroquette reprised his voice narration for the opening intertitles.

Man you’re so quick. You noticed foreshadowing in two seconds than I have rewatching this movie 1000 times. Like the fact tht the hitchhiker’s gun fit perfect in the sherif’s holster and the human skin drying on the wall
I will say, I dont think people realize how heavy a chainsaw, such as the one leather face was carrying, actually is.

Texas Chainsaw 2003 & Evil Dead are probably the 2 best horror remakes ever. The acting & casting in this was top notch. Leatherface was a BEAST in this! Plus his mask was HORRIFYING!

The little boy who was helping got killed but The producer felt it was too much for the viewers at the time. Thats why you never see him again
queen jessica ate this role up . her character is my favourite final girl (next to sidney from scream) in a horror film . her being sympathetic and having good survival skills and her reactions are what make her character a top for me along with her being played by THE jessica biel
That’s the only Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake movie I will forever love. The other remake that was on Netflix is TRASH.

Bro this movie was genuinely the scariest i've seen. I've never had a problem looking at the screen the entire movie but this one, if I didn't look away I would've had a heart attack. I love it tho. This is the kind of movie I like to see in Horror. the ones that actually make me scared. I screamed so loud watching it. Truly an amazing remake in cinematography

I'm glad you did this remake, childhood favorite and is a remake that is often overlooked. I might be the rare few who like this remake more than the original.
The 2003 and 2006 version are REMAKES these two are NOT related to the other Texas chainsaw massacre movies. It's a different storie in a way and different characters in a way too,
I recommend "house of wax" 2005. It was face of 2000's slasher movies

This is definitely in my top 5 horror films and scariest films purely for the fkd up of the jump scares like Leatherface opening that door is scarier than any creature feature. Fun fact lauren german aka the hitchhiker chick was also in hostel 2 if you haven't seen that (one of the better sequels to the og imo) and not a half bad horror flick if you can get over the gore

I saw this movie in theaters opening weekend & when I tell you I was SCARED AF!! I was so young, so a friend of mine & I convinced this couple to buy our tickets. This movie & Paranormal Activity are the most scared I’ve ever been watching a movie, ESPECIALLY in theaters 😳

THE HILLS HAVE EYES & #2 have a complete re-made set, too, and all four of those are worth watching - but definitely see the original '70s set first. You'll see how this film rips off HILLS HAVE EYES sequences, incorporating those storylines as well.
The Hills Have Eyes 1 and 2 had me terrified... To this day I have not forgotten many parts of that movie 🤮 such a good and crazy horror movie

Morgan is the Thin Man in the Charlie's Angels remake! I didn't know that.
Um, actually 🤓 Ed Gein was not a serial killer, in fact, I believe he only had one confirmed kill-He mostly stole bodies from graves and them used them to make things like cups, furniture, & the infamous nipple belt.
Much like in Psycho, I believe in his reverence for his mother he locked, and or walled-off, her room with her body inside, as I recall. As with TCM & Silence Of The Lambs, he became notorious because of his arts & crafts w/ the body parts he dug up.
But, if you want a film that is basically the actual story of Ed Gein, (minor changes are made to the story but it is very similar to what happened,) check out Deranged (1974) starring the old man from Home Alone, Roberts Blossom.
2003’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre is basically the first of a long line of Horror remakes that are mostly bad: Unfortunately, TCM (2003,) Hills Have Eyes (2006,) & The Crazies (2010,) are some of the better films in that run of remakes mostly known for taking the bones of the original stories and ramping up the violence. The Crazies are basically the end of that run of remakes.
TBH, I think I recall the best parts of this one being (1) Sexy Jessica Biel (2) That one dude’s face 😂
Anyway, I typically only recommend the original film and it’s original sequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986,) if you have not seen the original sequel it is a must, (a more explicitly Horror-Comedy film than its predecessor.)

I think this one along with the original and the 2006 version are my favorite movies out of the franchise leatherface scared the hell out of me when i was a kid but the movies are so worth it if you are a horror fan.
I also think his sliding that door open on them was the best scene and very iconic, watching the guys nails fall off while screeching the wall was cringe worthy, the fact they talked about not picking up a hitchhiker when ole boy was kissing a literal hitchhiker they just picked up 😂 and I love and hate our final girl because I agree with you Jay you can’t save everybody and I be damned if I would’ve even tried. 😂😂 somebody has to live to tell our story right ?

This is one of the most successful horror reboots out there, it kicked off that 2000s trend and led to the Halloween, F13th, and Nightmare on elm st reboots. NOES ended the trend mostly tho 😂
The first time I watched this I thought this was the only TCM because I've never seen or heard of the original 70s one.
Now everytime I say which one I like more I say this one because it was my first movie in the TCM so it became my favorite and the 70s one felt so stupid to me.
People always hate me for that, but oh well 🤷🏾♂️
Also, I grew up in a strict Christian home so the only shows we could watch was Touch By An Angel and 7thHeaven and Jessica Biel was in 7thHeaven so this movie couldn't be that scary 😳 I was wrong
