What I don't get is - this is a church function. It'll be over after summer. That's it. That wouldn't change her life and it's not Hollywood or even a full time opportunity. She'd be in the same boat regardless. Pearl is so childish she doesn't think ahead, only right now. Good thing Howard came home because Pearl can't take care of the farm without her mom.

I was already eating up her performance in X but in Pearl Mia Goth fully cemented herself as someone to look out for in the horror genre she’s so good. I can’t wait to see the finale of this trilogy with Maxxxine already in the filming process.

Fun little history fact: the movìe Pearl is set durng the early 1900s during WWI. Also, the accent Mia was putting on in this movie would have just started to emerge during WWI - WWII time frame. Until then, Americans didn't have prominently different accents. We still sounded like our European immigrant grandparents, kinda like her German mother.
Aside from the history fact, I did find her accent strange with having German parents and being a farm girl from (in the middle of nowhere) that time period, like she likely didn't go to school or have friends

Horror movies are so overlooked in the industry, and i don't understand why. These movies are my happy place, and the horror art communities are phenomenal.

The women who played the mom isn’t actually an actor (or wasn’t at the time) she was apart of the film crew for X and since Ti West filmed these back to back they couldn’t find anyone so she was asked to fill the role as the mother. And She DID AMAZING!!🥳🤘🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Have you reviewed/reacted to infinity pool yet, it stars Mia goth in her scariest role yet. It’s a really cool kinda surreal horror film and she is incredible.

Pearl gave up too soon. She only gave it one shot at an audition . Just accepted her life on the farm and didn’t expand her options to still do what she loved to do even if she didn’t make it in Hollywood, grew old, wasted her life then resented the younger generation for not living the life she never tried hard enough to have.
Because that's an aspect of psychosis. Psychopath's rarely think long term and just think of the moment. So when she failed the audition , that was it over with in her mind. And then she thinks she can justify her anger and taking it out on other things/people/animals without feeling remorse.
