We have the same issue on our 1988 Hatteras with our port engine. We think we have a leak somewhere cause when we take the fuel filter off; it is dry and no fuel is in it....so we gonna work on it during the winter since she will be on dry land😭.
Wow, Great looking Yacht, What kind is it? Do we get a full tour? Sucks that the engine broke down, but probably better at the begining in a place where there are mechanics than a long ways down river where there is nobody to help. As for the chicken, sounds like a spot of food poisoning, defiantly your body didn't like something.

5 feet of draft, so some of the harbors we encounter are pretty shallow.

I'll have a tour posted soon, it was a bit messy on this trip so I wanted to wait until it was cleaned and (slightly) remodeled.
Everyone I've known that had Cat engines on their boats had major issues all the time!
I'm fairly sure I'd stay away from Cats in any future boats I have. However I really don't intend to buy anything this big!

The sickness went away as soon as I got rid of the contents of my belly. This is a friend's boat and I was fortunate enough to jump on board.
