So true, right? If people really think "What the actual f*CK is that?", "Is this for real?" (lol) and are offended (or act like they were) by Rammstein, well there are much more violent events in this world and "effed up" people doing horrible things than one could think of. Rammsteins little reminders that this is our reality is a small but significant contribution to educate people. Some people have to get a grip on life and/or be open minded as well!

Oh and regarding the song: think of ANGST. It's similar. Society "loves" negative news or happenings. It's what entertains them, what they can watch and talk about.
Not 'too much blah blah blah', it makes your reactions real and interesting - don't change please! This is perhaps my favourite Rammstein song. The guy never intended to jump - he just wanted to see the view. The crowd don't accept that and want to witness drama, tragedy, so they will not rest until he has fulfiilled their expectations and jumped, only then are they satisfied. Of course there are many much deeper things in there as well - it is Rammstein after all! Till loves people to take what they choose from his words.

In my opinion, the best fan video of Rammstein on TH-cam and a good example that Rammstein is not only fire. Rammstein is also good lyrics. Spring is one of my favorite Rammstein songs!
Also, this is one of several of their songs that has never been performed live. The lesser known songs are also their best songs. Other songs include: "Nebel", "Spieluhr", "Donaukinder", "Dalai Lama", "Amour", "Alter Mann".
My second favorite song by Rammstein. When you deal with the lyrics, the first thought is that many people tyrannize another until one of them kills him. On closer inspection, it's a criticism of the music industry and fans and the pressure to meet their expectations. Artists do everything to stay popular, otherwise they will plummet into insignificance in the business. The price is the sale of one's own soul, the inner suicide, so to speak, to please everyone else.
The bridge in the song is the stage.
The thousand suns are the spotlights.
He just wanted to go to the view - just make his music
The one who kicks him in the back is himself. His self, changed by the masses, kicks his original self in the back and kills this part of his personality.
The accompanying fan-made video is absolutely sensational.

This song is a literal critique to society, when a person doesn't want to do something, but then a large group and the pressure will make you question everything and will make you do something you did not want, that is when you have to be strong and ignore people and society and do what you are set out to doo not follow society as a sheep as one more! One of the best songs from them also, for me this is one of my favourite songs and rosenrot is amazing
A real gem by Rammstein that unfortunately, due to the subject matter, is never played on the radio. The harshness of the lyrics and this hymn style is simply unique.

I have the thought that the person on the bridge was never wanting to jump. But that they were there just to enjoy the view, but everyone saw them and decided they wanted him to jump for their own sick entertainment.

Suicide is not the subject of the song. It's about the sensationalism of the masses, who feel cheated of their pleasure because the man had no intention of jumping off the bridge.

My dear brave n serious n funny n honest and caring couple, isnt it sad to liston to that and to watch that? Its so scary! Im sure you know how people behave when theyre passing an accidant on the Highway by car, they slow down, because they wanna see something - and they dont care the sorrow of the victims or the people around themselves sharing the road with them. We mustnt complain about that, cause its inside of all of us. Several times I discover that I need to be thankful that a Band like Rammstein exissts - they are warning all of us, and they re showing all of us our damons we host inside of us, we better fight to keep our damons in chains, and hopefully enough individuals of mankind are succsessful with that, so we can live among ourselves in most of the time with empathy and love and caring - hopefully - all the best to you, I hug you!

I really love seeing you react to every Rammstein song. You actually do research - about one of the complexest and broadest bands i would say Germany has to offer. Dominika is so empathic and sensitive toward that i tear up and smile with her everytime- even though i listen to Rammstein over 15 years now and have felt these emotions so often. I would love to recommend for Andrei "Du riechst so gut" and for Dominika from Eivør "True Love". Looking forwards to many videos of you enjoying and experiencing great music
I've never thought of the internet world and the pressure that is taken on people by other humans via social media and stuff. It was a great thought by you and this is why I love your channel. Your interpretations add always a new perspective to me and the songs.

@@haraldmax9685 Yes I know it is not the most obvious one. But I am convinced that Till has taken the aspect into account, because he often plays with opposites. It's just an additional layer to the song that I think is worth mentioning because it's not so obvious.
Do be honest, I think this as well, for all when you think about it, that Till had, for all at the beginning, "stage fright". He had to push himself over this limit. Just one of the things I am thinking there.
If you are someone like me, you even do it yourself. If I would not have done it, I am not sure, if I am still alive, because I had a very abusive family and other experience there. I was thinking about suicide by the age of 15. Yes, you read right, 15! But I did not do it, because I pushed myself to get further than that. also in many other situations (including my first time on stage as an actress). I am an introvert like Till, but I love the performance. And no, I am not that famous, although in the area where I was oftener on stage (I moved), it started to happen, that people suddenly stopped and said:"I know you from somewhere." This song is very heavy to me. One of those that make me drown into my own darkness.
Rammstein is special because they don't only make you think with their lyrics, but also make you feel with the music. Rammstein is the only band that manages to do that with almost every their song and that's one of the reasons why they are number 1 for me and why I cannot even compare them with any other band.

It's happening because Rammstein said so lol. You already had it right in another video .where you said Rammstein will force you to have a emotional reaction and even physical ,might I add . because when I've seen them in Cardiff I had goosebumps for 3 and a half hours. It was almost painful 😂

So interesting how you are „discovering“ the German language as being powerful as well as beautiful in a way. Have in mind that classical music is written and sung mainly in Italian and German. It is expressive. For dark content, but also uplifting and „wunderschöööön“ when used by Schubert or lyrics for Beethoven pieces. Or Till‘s DIAMANT. Love from Berlin to you guys. As always, there are many possible interpretations of the lyrics. On the one hand, you can take them literally. In my opinion, not too far away from the real world. Anywhere somebody is for example on a high building, ready for suicide, there is immediately a crowd and the media, curios to see what's going on. Ra,,stein just topped it by letting the crowd in the song encouraging or better demanding him to jump.
On the other hand, you can see it as metaphors how society is dealing with it's idols, wether it be artist, athletes or politicians, if they dare to have a different opinion about something or doing something they not agree with -> toxic fandom.
Please keep on sharing your thoughts with the audience, is so much more interesting to hear what you think about a song than just "I like it" from other reaction channels 👍

Funny little detail: The instigator obviously resembles Till while the faces of the nameless mob looks very much alike the creator of the video. I like this special spin on this video.

For me however this song connects also with a Werner Herzog documentary "The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner" about a ski jumper Walter Steiner who jumped incredible distances. If I remember it correctly it was an important part of the film that he started risking with his jumps more an more, because he knew people wanted him to jump further and further, perhaps even not to see him fall, but to see him "conquer death" with his jumps. After seeing that movie I really thought if the lyrics of this song could somehow have been inspired by the film. Then it is perhaps not even only about the cruelty of the people but of their longing to see entertainers reach magnificent heights and cheat death in one area or another, perhaps even art and music, and perhaps Rammstein somehow sing it from their own perspective as entertainers even, only slightly perhaps, but still. They are known for their outrageous fireworks, etc.

Мне одному показалось, что этот заводила похож очень на одного конкретного человека, а толпа, это стадо, которое потокает ему, несмотря на весь ужас происходящего и готовы его чуть ли не на руках за это носить? И правда говорят, история циклична и имеет свойство повторяться, а люди имеют свойство повторять чужие ошибки! А клип получился зеркалом одной нации, которая осуществила данное зло и плавно перетекло в другую нацию, которая когда-то с этим злом боролась, но сама на это зло и напоролась в итоге.
