7:02 this is the thing I've always been talking about! I love reading books since childhood and I always try to complete the novels/dramas in my syllabus no matter how big they are. However, recently I was talking to a friend who was complaining that she was having trouble writing essay-type answers properly. I asked her if she had read the books. She told me: "you seem like you read all the books. However, you know, I never read them, can just score well still." It was surprising how she bragged about it. What's the point of studying literature if you don't want to read a few enjoyable novels?
I've experienced the same with my friends. But what can we do 💁🏽. Sadly most literature students don't read texts, and that's the reality. And that bragging thing is so on point. It's like they think it's a reward. But now I just don't say anything. Why waste time on such people.
The situation after net really scares me. I am going to enroll for masters this year but the situation really scares me as putting so much efforts and mental health but still there is no guarantee for jobs. The situation of academia really scares me.
@@prachi1890 I second everything you said but unfortunately, this is the truth of academia and an exam like Net should have some scope for providing jobs as it is a one of the hardest exam in the teaching field. But let's do our best and hope for the best! 🍀
I just love to listen your speech no matter what you say it's just impressive. Your talking manner reminds me of an IAS Saloni Verma interview you both are currently my ideals ❤
Currently UGC NET is becoming factual.......if one has good memory, one can crack easily... Today textual knowledge is not required for NET JRF.... Reading books in depth is not necessary to crack NET....
Yes. Unfortunately you're right but I think as literature students we must go for in depth knowledge of literature rather than just mugging up facts. But can't deny when it comes to the exam it becomes very important.
I am on my final semester of my B.Ed and I really really want to crack NET after my B.Ed exam is over. But I really don't know what to after looking at the currant UGC notions. Somewhere I don't like B.Ed my father forced me but looking at the job scenarios I am grateful to him he enrolled me in this degree. But is it possible for me to crack NET exam and I just can't focus on two things simultaneously so right now there's a 2 years lagging, I don't know what to do. I am so sorry for rambling like this.
You don't need to worry. Just complete your B.ed first and then start preparing for Net. If you want you can teach in some school to get experience which will help you later on securing a job after you clear NET.
mam, one more thing how to approach any work of fiction, drama or prose for ugc net should we read the whole text from books or litcharts summary will also work?
hello mam , i am also one of those students who read summaries not the whole text . I did this in my ug as well and currently, i have enrolled myself in pg what should i do ? should i read the original texts /purchase books or summaries and please tell what's the benefit of reading novel drama from books? won't lit charts explanation will work?
