It always amazes me how intelligent they are. They come in terrified and within a matter of hours they understand that you are a friend and are helping them. Absolutely Brilliant!❤❤
Meg... you are so good with your batties! This rescue was fantastic. little Tafia was constantly assured that you were there to help... constant conversation, glucose, fluids, and most importantly your love! Please keep sharing your rescues.
Meg, I love it when you talk to bats. I always wait for them to answer you. In a verbal sense.., because they always answer you non-verbally! They know you are helping them. This can be seen, for example, after Tafia found glucose herself!
She’s so cute when she inadvertently sees the tube of glucose and decides to help herself. Then you take her out of the incubator and she looks at you like “Oh it’s you, The-Bringer-of-Good-Stuff”. Bright eyed little girl.🥰
I didn't read the report first to see that Tafia was doing well and when I saw her lying there i thought it would be bad. what a relief! She's gorgeous.
That was so cute when you flipped her over to do the subcut fluids, and the glucose tube was within range of her little snout! More of this please! And you were so sweet to indulge her! Thanks for what you do. And for the videos of what you do.
Just a quick word and not meaning to be picky but the word is subQ which is a short form for subcutaneous which means just under the skin. I work in medical.😁😁😊😊.
@@marionmuolo9321 I get what you’re saying… but from context, did you get the idea that I *didn’t* know that the term I used (subcut) is short for subcutaneous? Also, I don’t work in medical, so I’m not hung up on “proper abbreviations.” Maybe your textbooks say subQ, but since Meg herself says “subcut fluids” quite often… I’m more inclined to stick with what works in context rather than be a stickler about the terms. I used to be more of that kind of stickler before I turned 50. Now context seems more important. Cheers!
Great news she is doing well. She certainly liked the glucose gel😎 Lovely seeing her fall asleep wrapped around flat teddy all warm and cozy, only earlier in the day she was lost in her thoughts as to what was going on, scared and confused as too what had happened to her🦇❤
It’s amazing how quickly they adjust to you & not try to bite after only a few hours. Actually, she stopped trying to bite when you gave her subcut, even before the incubator nap.
Poor little gorgeous baby. She's helpless and just has to go along with her captor. Thank God it's Meg and her angels. They will see her through this ordeal. As they always do. So thankful to you all.
She has such big innocent eyes, so sweet and you just want to cuddle her and make her better. Poor little thing. So glad that she made it to you before anything else were to happen to her.
It must be very confusing for the little ones to come into care and be treated well. They understand that capture might be horrible, but they don't think it might be OK.
How beautiful she is, and so dear. She figured out the glucose gel tube “blossom” in a snap, faster than I’ve seen before. Looked like she decided that with such loaded blossoms about, why bother with the work of chewing fruit. All good wishes to little bright-eyed Talfia. Yet another ace name, by the way.
shes a stunner!! i think the nom noms with the tongue sticking out is my fav thing that the batties do.. it makes me go all mushy lol (that aint easy to manage!)
She got me from the first moment, so beautiful. When she saw the glucose tube after having some, and stretched out for it I was smitten. Great table manners too.🖤🇨🇦
Those big, round beautiful eyes! Did she finish off that tube of glucose? So very dainty, no savage attacks on you or the tube. This one is going to be a heart grabber💖

She will be in care until someone is driving north where she can be released in Spring with other late babies, or if our colony returns she may be able to be released with the other Blacks through the release cage near the colony.

I love the Blackie Bats. Tafia is fond of the sweet jelly as are all bats. She's going to make all sorts of new friends. I've got to say though, the place you made the rescue, those steps and walkway. I started laughing watching you as I'm sure I saw these on an episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus. All you needed was loud footstep sounds, Strauss's Die Fledermaus playing, with Tafia's little face looking perplexed. 🦇
What a gorgeous little girl! She certainly was quick to love the glucose tube - lol. The walkway green spaces of MOP's home were beautiful - but I can see where a bat - especially a young one - could find herself stranded. Thankfully, Tafia cooperated in her rescue so you avoided the haul away truck!
The people on the driveway opposite were expecting some sort of truck because they had construction work going on there. They knew I was only going to be away for a few minutes, since it was only a pickup and not a chasing the bat around the yard.
Tafia is a real little charmer, I love the way she went for the glucose tube on her own while you were setting up her fluids. I’m happy she is doing well, and is hanging with the cool group. Excellent! Very cute battle “Taffia” so would you say a “love child” born out of the regular mating season, 😆 interesting Terrace houses long & skinny with a sea view? … ….they call them shotgun houses in the south eastern part of the US ….because they are also narrow and long.
It was a reasonably wide property and multi storey, so it was a big house on a long block. Tafia was just born out of season, reasons unknown. She is so smart. I don't think that I have ever seen them associate good stuff with the glucose tube so fast.

A nice Teddy to cuddle and cozy blankie! Life is good
