Its funny that he tells us to back up the phone on Icloud before restoring it but forgets to mention that things backed up on IOS 16 can't be restored on IOS 15.

Well I am going back to stable 15.5 after installing this update on my 13 Pro. I didn't come across much issues with the public beta UI wise or apps crashing. However my phone stayed on the warmer side and battery drain was a bit too much to my liking.

iOS 16 has no major issues for me the only thing is I can’t use one app because it counts as being jail broken or rooted i have to use another device for what I wanna do other than that it’s ok
Question: I only have one iPhone and used your video to try out the beta. When the official version of iOS 16 comes out will this beta profile and all that go away or will I have to do something to "upgrade" from this beta version of 16 to the public release version of 16?
Not sure if this is correct or not but I guess you could stay on iOS 16 beta until the public release in a few months time and remove the beta profile which would put you back into the public update path is my guess 🤔🤔
@@justinsingh6970 yea ofc it’s not as good as normal but it’s CERTAINLY way better than the previous developer betas. The developer betas battery life were horrendous and it overheated all the time.
This procedure works well for me although sometimes the phone will reboot while the “updated” software downloads, forcing me to repeat the procedure. I think I’ll wait for at least one more beta before trying iOS 16. Looking forward to it though. Great videos!
Keep in mind iCloud sometimes acts weird. I does not like to restore backups to previous builds. When I have to restore iPads and iPhones, it says something to the means of "this device must be running 16(blah blah blah) to restore. Do you want to install iOS 16?." I am quite certain you need to have made an iPad 15 backup on iCloud first. If you've only used the phone on iPhone 15 or used another iPhone on iOS 15, don't try this because you need a backup of 15 to restore. Otherwise, go ahead and click "start over." Thank you!!! The more of us in a group, the more resources we have to think.

My phone app stopped working -- I couldn't hang up calls, couldn't open the keypad - on iOS 16. My restore to 15 worked as above except it asked me if I wanted to continue being a beta tester and no matter which way I answered it it said I could not restore my most recent back-up. The next most recent was a month ago, and I had to choose that. Still nice to be able to use my phone again!

@@michelehogan7868 i got a solution thanks to another user. Look for my comment and read the answer. Basically do a backup on the pc find the file info.plist in the backup and modify the version from 16 to 15.0 then go into recovery mode reset the phone and use that backup to recover from itunes with that backup

Hi Zollotech, I followed all your steps but when the restore is complete and I try to set up the iPhone using the cloud backup, it is again going to the prompt of keep iPhone updated and downloading iOS 16 beta 3 and not restoring the cloud backup on iOS 15.5 as shown in the video. That’s correct. You cant restore an “iCloud Back up” of a higher release. But you can sync back whichever data you have already synced in Settings >iCloud.
This is an excellent walk through! Also you can use this same method to UPGRADE to a newer firmware. I recommend upgrading to a yearly .0 release by restoring using this method and setting the device up fresh without using a backup. This gives you a clean install of iOS and will lead to the beat performance possible.

I was unable to use the backup I made with IOS16 after downgrading my Iphone, it said IOS16 is required.
Did you find a fix to this? I'm about to start from scratch but that would mean about 2 hours of extra work (which I guess wouldn't be so bad).

3:41 The only thing you need to do to bypass that page is turn off find my on the device and you don't have to turn on recovery mode.

I thought you couldn’t restore a backup of a higher release (iOS 16) to a lower release (iOS 15.X)? Only the other direction.
