Wait wait wait !!!!! Is pianote actually enbracing VGM !!? Please please do lessons catering to this amazing category. I'll buy a second lifetime membership 😀😅🎉
I just cant deal with Dire Dire Docks... To this day i just cant ! Cant stop from tearing up. My 4 year old daughter said "whats wrong dad?" I had NO good answer. What should i say? "Im 8 years old, im jumping into a painting and i fall down on a beach surrounded by water and a weird snake on a boat and im just loving the music and now 30 years later i still remember that feeling i got back then. Naaaaa 😂😢❤
Beautiful execution. Nice list too. I just missed any DKC's David Wise songs. It could be Stickerbush Symphony, Aquatic Ambience or basically the Main Theme.
I first discovered Jemma from her "Bloody Tears" cover a few years back. Awesome to see her featured here. "Dire Dire Docks" is probably my all-timer in terms of piano-specific VGM. Fantastic selection and performance!
I don't why this comment made me think this, but a part of me think's it is partially tragic that for the most part music gets attributed to the game, but the composers aren't included. For example, the originating game for all 20 songs are included, but the composers aren't named for a single one. Kinda odd if you ask me.
This is exactly why I wanted to start learning piano at 35. Final fantasy music at first, then just gaming in general. This video was so nostalgic for me, amazing playing! ❤️❤️ Edit: also love the coordination with the lights!
Seeing people play FFVII Aerith Theme and Those Who Fight on piano made me want to learn lol I only got up to Aerith theme tho. Those who fight is v hard
Jemma's picks were delightful and fun! I hope one day we get to hear the tunes from Spyro on the piano. The drummer from the Police Stewart Copeland made the music of those games!
I think Jemma is the most well rounded piano musician in modern times. She can play any style and make it sound flawless, even after adding her very own signature accents.
Please put this on spotify, the entire 6:19 minutes of it. Something about cutting away from a nostalgic song onto another nostalgic song makes me happy.
very iconic tracks with a few under the radar ones, good choice i still dream to see a medley like that with more tracks that people usually don't know about, for the OST connoiseurs. as an aspiring composer, most of my favourite tracks are usually ones that people don't know, like Sacred Distance from Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, or Servants of The Mountain from Final Fantasy X. There is so much beauty to be discovered, that i really wanna scream about it so more people get to know
Closest to a perfect top 20 I have ever seen! Here are my substitutions but they're close. Ducktales - Moon Theme instead of Super Mario 64 - Bob-Omb Battlefield Legend of Zelda - Gerudo Valley instead of LoZ - Lost Woods Donkey Kong Country - Either Aquatic Ambience or Stickerbrush Symphony instead of Super Mario World - Overworld Theme
AWESOME! More Jemma! And doing her specialty :) edit to add: Dire Dire Docks is by far my favorite, and if anyone wants to hear the full thing, she has a complete version on her channel that is just the greatest video game music cover you've ever heard!!
Making a top 50 of the best is already difficult, top 20 then... You can be sure that at least 10 of them must be on everyone's list! Amazing video, THANK YOU!
This was great! My favorite video game soundtrack will always be Ultima IV. I had an Atari ST with built in MIDI ports and a Yamaha DX7 connected to it. I had forgotten to turn it off when I went to play the game and I was floored to hear the soundtrack being played by the DX7 - the game would output MIDI if it was connected. This was 1986 and such quality of sound was unrivaled back then. I didn't hear anything that could even come close to that quality in a game until the Soundblaster AWE 32 was released in 1994.
My top five 5. Gusty garden galaxy from Mario galaxy 2 4. To make the end of battle from Ys 2 3. Eight melodies from Earthbound 2. Time’s scar from Chrono cross 1. Filmore from Actraiser
Great video filled with great songs played beautifully! That being said for a top 20 list I would've included something a song by David Wise (DKC), another modern composer such as Lena Raine (Celeste), and sometimes from the Chrono Trigger soundtrack
I have so much to say but I can say this. Fantastic initiative of this channel to give video game music some light. When i vlicked the video, i wondered wich place fairy fountain would be. To the bitter end i thought i was going to be dissapointed but you finally played it and soooo beautiful. Amazing
I really enjoyed this so much! I make music but can't really play the piano and am somewhat at a loss as to what to use to get better. I would TOTALLY learn the Mario, Zelda and Wii Sports music you played here. Where did you get the arrangements? Or did you make them yourself?
So happy to see this video! Awesome list :) I am surprised that Zelda's Lullaby isn't here, but I totally understand as there's so many other Zelda/Nintendo songs on the list already haha!
Hi, Jemma, you playing this gamesongs so very nice on the Clavia NordStage4 (and other two keyboards (I think one is a synthesizer, and the second is a Midi-Workstation), it's exciting to look and hear your video upload here, it sounds so fascinating - I wish you just all the best and so much luck for a professional career on the music business! Let me say Woow! With kindly regards from Luxembourg, Europe, Marc
Frank Tedesco is an amazing pianist here on youtube. You should invite him on next time. He has incredible "play it by ear" skills. Having said that, those of us who are subscribed to pianote are also subscribed to many other pianist TH-camrs such as Frank, Marcus Veltri and Zach Hyde among others. It would be pretty cool to see some of our favorite TH-camrs invited on pianote for different challenges. Granted, we love big time artists like Jemma Heigis and Jordan Rudess as well 😅.
Bro what I would give to have those skills to play piano. I want to cry every time I hear FFVII on piano. Everything else gives me nostalgia 100% but my favorite is anything Final Fantasy. It's crazy dude, she plays everything exactly the same 😭😭🙌🙌🥲🥲🫡🫡
This was such a fun challenge!! Thank you so much to Pianote for having me!! ❤❤
Jemma, you are amazing!!

Jemma, it w a s amazing to heat all those songs together I grew up with 70%of those songs. So it was a treasure trove of memories for me.
Each of these songs I recognized inspired me to improve my own skills. Great job and Thank you!
I am SO proud of you. You are blowing up, and it's totally deserved. Well done! 👏🏾👍🏾
とても楽しかった!ありがとうございました。
Wait wait wait !!!!! Is pianote actually enbracing VGM !!? Please please do lessons catering to this amazing category. I'll buy a second lifetime membership 😀😅🎉
"Embracing" would at least mean to name the composers. :(
I just cant deal with Dire Dire Docks...
To this day i just cant !

Naaaaa 😂😢❤
I completely understand!
@@KevinBX thats awesome ! Cheers m8
I see a plot hole. Game is 28 years old. You could not play it 30 years ago.
Hell yeah I feel ya dude stickerbrush symphony from donkey Kong country2 always gets Me!!
@@IgorBozoki1989are you meaning you dont know why people choose to use round numbers?
Beautiful execution. Nice list too. I just missed any DKC's David Wise songs. It could be Stickerbush Symphony, Aquatic Ambience or basically the Main Theme.
So many Zelda songs! Nothing can beat Zelda's soundtrack!
Yes, something can beat Zelda songs. It's called Solstice on Nes. I'm kidding. But check it out.
It’s truly awesome… but Final Fantasy 7 is right there with Zelda.
Final Fantasy says 👋
Zelda ost is a teaser compared to final fantasy
While I love Zelda, Chrono Trigger begs to differ.
I first discovered Jemma from her "Bloody Tears" cover a few years back. Awesome to see her featured here.
"Dire Dire Docks" is probably my all-timer in terms of piano-specific VGM. Fantastic selection and performance!
Jemma is an absolute monster. I saw her version of "Bloody Tears" a few years back and have been following her ever since. Big fan.
Video game music is highly underrated. All you have to hear is one note and you know it's Mario!
And Super Mario Bros should be No. 1 cuz everyone in the world recognizes it even if they have never played the game.
The Rugrats jacket while playing this is perfect
This shows japanese people take there music very srsly all these scores are masterpieces 🔥
Japanese and I believe Toby Fox was in there too.

I'm 35 now, and this video is making want to learn!
It's never too late Sergio! Feel free to try our 7-day trial www.pianote.com 😊🙌
I started because of the same reason haha!
Seeing people play FFVII Aerith Theme and Those Who Fight on piano made me want to learn lol
I only got up to Aerith theme tho. Those who fight is v hard
Jemma really makes that Moog sing! 🙌
Jemma's picks were delightful and fun! I hope one day we get to hear the tunes from Spyro on the piano. The drummer from the Police Stewart Copeland made the music of those games!
green hill zonre really is like a time machine
My childhood memories
All.great classic songs.... dont forget the Oil Ocean Zone in Sonic 2 and the special stage tunnel run in Sonic 2.... those were classics too.
1:27 tears in my eyes... It's so beautiful. Wonderful celebration of 20 aweome VG songs!
When I saw the thumbnail I was like "Megalovania should be on here" and right when I clicked it my 10 year old self was going crazy 😂💀
Absolutely love zero filler, cut to the chase approach here! Super well done!!
YES JEMMA! I’m always hyped to see more friends tapping into VGM, such a cool highlight of great classics!
yes dom!!!

Oh lord, that Prelude was absolutely beautiful! Loved this!
I need a part 2 D:
That was amazing. Loved it.
Yes definitely do, maybe MGS can make an appearance in part 2.
Closest to a perfect top 20 I have ever seen! Here are my substitutions but they're close.
Ducktales - Moon Theme instead of Super Mario 64 - Bob-Omb Battlefield
Legend of Zelda - Gerudo Valley instead of LoZ - Lost Woods
Donkey Kong Country - Either Aquatic Ambience or Stickerbrush Symphony instead of Super Mario World - Overworld Theme
The fact that this is a top 20 list and and there is not a single music on it from the Donkey Kong Country trilogy is truly baffles me.
AWESOME! More Jemma! And doing her specialty :) edit to add: Dire Dire Docks is by far my favorite, and if anyone wants to hear the full thing, she has a complete version on her channel that is just the greatest video game music cover you've ever heard!!

Hell yeah. Roland MT32 music was also great back in the day.
❤❤❤❤ So many good nostalgic memories of pulling all nighters at the local arcade ❤❤❤❤ Thank you 😊

5. Gusty garden galaxy from Mario galaxy 2
4. To make the end of battle from Ys 2
3. Eight melodies from Earthbound
2. Time’s scar from Chrono cross
1. Filmore from Actraiser
This was amazing and entertaining. AND THAT JACKET 🤌🏾
RIGHT?!
Yo Jemma rules! Great seeing her on this channel!
A lot of Koji Kondo's tracks !!! 😉
Nice work, very cool video, but too short.
Please the full version.
He's VGM Royalty
Kondo is a genius
top 3 is pure Koji Kondo
Dire dire docks always gives me chills. Awesome!
I cant believe that dkc stickerbrush symphony was not on this.

Castlevania II FTW 👍
Such a precise playing. Wow!!! I am amazed, thank you
Amazing work! Amazing video!
😮 This is amazing! Great work Jemma.
Happy to see Bob-Omb Battlefield. It's one of my favorites
heck yes!! Jemma delivers absolute fire on keys 🔥
Best keyboard rips I've seen/heard in a long time.
first one up and it's a certified BANGER, solid choices
Que maravilha! Adorei. Parabéns
2:39 Alexey Pajitnov! Playing this song on the guitar was exciting!
At 3:05 I made that exact stank face on the high note 😂 killer playing!
Good choice! I spread mine across a few games, including roulette. They really do have a nice selection of bonuses
thought for sure that Sonic: Spring Yard Zone would be above the two included. However, they all are amazing. Thanks for this!
That was great! If there's a part 2, we need some Nier, Hollow Knight, Celeste music as well :)
Please do long versions of each of them. Awesome work
Gold Jemma, this is gold!!!!

Thank you Jenna for the wonderfull music

How the heck did I miss this video? She played my childhood.
Donkey Kong Country - Aquatic Ambience
Final Fantasy VII - One Winged Angel (Sephiroth's Theme)
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dragonborn (Main Theme)
So happy to see this video! Awesome list :) I am surprised that Zelda's Lullaby isn't here, but I totally understand as there's so many other Zelda/Nintendo songs on the list already haha!

Nice work 😊
Its made me dust off the old consoles to play again!!! Plus that hoodie is on point 💯💯
I truly admire you Jemma! This girl is on fire! 🔥
Amazing. Thank you.
I got stuck up in the scream at the end of the Doom song . 😂 1:12
This was awesome!
amazing 😄🤩
This was absolute 🔥 10/10 even with the mistakes.
I also love the mega man 3 title screen song, StarCraft terran theme 4, Mario kart 64 credits, fzero big blue, and fzero mute city
“Stickerbush Symphony” from DKC2 and “Aquatic Ambience” from DKC should’ve been in there. And pretty high on the list imo.
Valid list, nice thank you ❤

Rugrats jacket is dope af!
Jemma playing is pure 🔥
That cashback was a lifesaver last week. It’s comforting to know you get something back after a rough day
I love videogame music she nailed it!
Great choices and clear piano play 👍
But I miss gerudo valley and the opening stage from Mega Man X.
Funny Jacket your wear 😅👍
Very cool - both Ori games have some absolutely beautiful music
I love this! i don't agree 100% with the list but 100% agree with the jeans
Yeah, go ahead and blast right from the first second, why don't you?! That was fantastic! Thank you!
Found you through TikTok--excited to see you on Pianote!!
Fantastic list and fantastic playing!
The Doom piece was 🔥 Green Hill zone and chemical plant was perfect
Bro what I would give to have those skills to play piano.
I want to cry every time I hear FFVII on piano. Everything else gives me nostalgia 100% but my favorite is anything Final Fantasy.
It's crazy dude, she plays everything exactly the same 😭😭🙌🙌🥲🥲🫡🫡
WONDERFUL 😊
That run on Guile's theme
Ducktales - Moon theme is the obvious number 1 for me. Other than that, excellent!
Wonderfully done
muito bomm !! 🎉🎉🎉🔥
How cool is all of this ❤❤👏👏
good. what brand of keyboard do you use?
Isso é muito legal, diversão pura!!!!
