I was actually a fan of Cat Stevens long before I fell in love with Chris Cornell's music. Now that I'm a hardcore Cornell fan, I just found out about this performance.

@@BaconTomatoCheese It's very sad. I'm not an emotional guy, but Cornell's music (Soundgarden) was my youth. More so than Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP, it was Cornell's music that really spoke to me. Very sad he's not here anymore.

Hard to read the comment on anything Chris Cornell is in. He was truly gifted and loved by many including me. Very rarely does a celebrity death effect me. At the time of his death I was in a dark place and listening to his voice would some how brighten my day. Great singer gone to early I'm just glad that we were blessed to hear such a voice.
Long time Cat fan, since around the age of 10. One of his albums was amongst the very 1st I bought. My Korean wife had never heard of Cat Stevens. When I played this song for her, she was hooked. It's kind of been our song ever since.
He Totally let Cat shine. He could have, (and So many younger singers do this) blown him out of the water. He's one of the best vocalists on the planet. He held back - big time. He didnt even embelish his own parts. Huge respect he showed. And he is Owed.
When Chris sings his first verse I literally get chills. That man could sing anything and sound perfectly different in each song. GD wish there were more covers to come from him.
And Never forget andrew wood of Mother love bone who if had not died there would be no chris Cornell his tribute song made him pearl jam Nirvana! How sad one death made much amazing music and how these beautiful souls with powerful messages are all gone. Divine planning. Don't let the music or the message die just because the messenger did! The young ones of today need to hear what they had to say. Pass it on. Not the music of today!!
I love Cat Steven's and then to see him perform one of my childhood hits with my idol Chris Corneell was like two angels singing together. Iwill love it and treasure it forever. Miss you Chrs.

Tenía una voz espectacular... realmente se rompe el corazón de ni tenerlo entre nosotros...Q.D.E.P....nunca nunca te olvidaremos... triste perder esa voz y esa persona tan bella
He was truly special. Breaks my heart still. I can only be thankful that I had the opportunity to see him as many times as I did.
LUCKY YOU ARE, dear❣️
Wish I had. You are so lucky!
I love everything Cat Stevens has ever done, and Chris Cornell’s loss is heartbreaking, but we still can hear him thanks to recordings like this.
This brings me to tears, rip chris. Yusef is one of the nicest people alive, a real Muslim!
tout a fait d'accord!!!
2 of the most soulful voices i ever heard. I still get tears when i hear either one of them sing!
What a Great Song And This Performance Just Doesn’t Get Better Than This Just Awesome
Cornell said years ago his mom played Cat "constantly" as a child it is awesome to get to watch that!
Can confirm, his mom LOVED Cat Stevens.
The years haven't changed Yusuf or his music 🎵🎼🎶
Classic songs with real meaning never age , Shukran Yusuf 🤲
Alhamdulilah 🤲
Just great. Is there anyone else wishing they had also sung "Father and Son" together?
Miles from nowhere too
There is a great version
with Eddie Vedder here on TH-cam
What? This existed? So incredibly happy I found this. Amazing!!!!
I'm missing you Chris. Such a handsome man with beautiful blue eyes and a stunning voice. You will live on through your music. ❤❤❤
Holy crap! Was just listening to the Higher Truth album for the first time and thinking how Chris' voice and the style of tg ed songs reminded me of cat Stevens.....and then I come across this! No words can describe.
I love to hear about musical coincidences cuz I experience them all the time!
It's all about Divine order my friend
So amazing that sometimes the ones who sing these healing songs to us are the ones who need them the most. You finally broke that rusty cage, brother.
It makes my heart heavy watching Chris knowing that inside his mind is in such torment and he’ll be gone soon. Hope you found your peace my man..
_"And it's breaking my heart you're leaving __-baby-__ Chris I'm greaving"_
- Those lyrics hit even harder than before. Rest in peace you legend. We all miss you dearly.
I can't believe I only now find this. As sad as it makes me listening to and watching this, it opens my heart. A good watch on hard days
I just discovered this gorgeous collaboration today. This beautiful song takes me back to 'Moon Shadow' premiered on a morning show when I was just a child. How lucky we are to be able to view and listen to the Great artists.
Cat Stevens' voice is still intact after so many years. Actually, his voice sounds fuller here than it did on the original 1971 studio release.
agree, his voice sounds much better here!
It's what clean living does for you. Great man
@@michaelfallon3991 That and taking care of your vocal cords the way voice instructors advise.
His voice aged like fine wine. Only got better with age.
He sounds great! Hasn't missed a beat.
I can't even express the loss I feel over Chris Cornell..... can't wait to oneday sit between Layne and Chris..... just to say "Thank You"..... you both unknowingly saved so many of us lost souls......God Loves Grunge!!!
A-fuckin-men
This song is more relevant now, then ever before 💖😭🍸🍸🍸🍸 Thank you Cat Stevens for singing this with Chris. Cuts deep baby!
Hi Heather, how are you doing
Thanks a lot dear I really appreciate the love and support
Hi Heather, hope you’re okay??
Wow...can you imagine hearing this now? It would be the song of the people. Thank you in posthumously Chris. Your genius will be taught, 8f we tell our children and grandchildren, about you and the many great artists, like Cat, who invited you to sing with them. Total respect.
So glad this was ‘captured ‘ with Cat and Chris ….need say more ?
Chris is amazing, but Cat is crushing this playing and singing goddamn
It's like he hasn't aged a day.
What talent
his voice hasnt aged a bit
I was expecting something better myself. Cat was great. Chris wasn't bad but didn't really ad much to the performance other than being there and looking cool.
Cat Stevens is a freakin' sociopath. He advocated for the murder of Salman Rushie, a novelist. He needs to be ignored and routinely reviled.
Such a great combination of talent. I have to say Chris Cornell is one of the best voices I've ever heard.
This song auto played on feed (I was listening to "Let It Rain - Eric Clapton) I'm now happy and crying at the same time to hear Chris again...
Oh that voice, he was so talented that I found it hard to know when Cat's voice ended and Chris's began.... Seemless! 💔😍💕
wow, I can't believe I only just discovered this and I'm already onto my 3rd view. Have adored both these men for decades. This is perfection... I can't stop the tears.
THANKS FOR YOUR WORDS OF WISDOM!
I’m trying to learn how to sing this to my seventeen year old SON!!!!!!!!!
This song is so true of the world today.I will always remember it as a child. No matter how wild things get, with all that is going on. Please folks, remember the easier days, like a child. We got this
Hey, i dont know you, but if you can read this - I LOVE YOU, no matter what, keep strong, love your life and enjoy every moment, we only have chance to enjoy it. For all those who are not with us, i rais my cup to you while living in this wild world.
❤❤
Well said
Hard to read the comment on anything Chris Cornell is in. He was truly gifted and loved by many including me. Very rarely does a celebrity death effect me. At the time of his death I was in a dark place and listening to his voice would some how brighten my day. Great singer gone to early I'm just glad that we were blessed to hear such a voice.
Relevant still today and never going out of style. Thanks for the music.
I was going to say - THIS. Thank You. He showed Such restraint and honor and reverence. Cornell has a gorgeous soul....has, not had
When Chris sings his first verse I literally get chills. That man could sing anything and sound perfectly different in each song. GD wish there were more covers to come from him.
Completely agree. Chills / goosebumps from Chris.
Never forget and never stopping loving his music
Cat Steven’s was so hot 🔥 in his 20’s and in my twenties I was crushing on Chris Cornell. Love this song especially together.
