How in the Hell does Chris Cornell take the music to U2's One and the Lyrics to Metallica's One and marry them together like that's the way the song was originally written!?!?! Insane!!!! What a talent!
Everything Chris touched turned to gold. He was such a phenomenal talent. He could play, and sing, "Mary had a little lamb" and just floor the audience. I think Chris was aware of the choice of this text, he described his feelings at that time, it is pure depression and no one realized it was a cry for help with nice and pleasant background music of U2 R.I.P Master
The only thing is I wish that there was a recording without the crowd noise. Some songs are party songs to get all excited about... this was not one of them. Masterfully done, an emotional take on two emotional epic songs and somehow made it his own. "One" is arguably U2's best song, and One is also a song many would say was Metallica's best song... And Chris comes in and says "hey, mind if I do this at the same time and knock it out of the park?" His voice just melts it together like some savory musical s'more. And he does this with other classics like GnR's "Patience" and Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U". I wish he'd could come back, because we were not done with him yet.
He is missed by millions. He not only had a great talent. His mannerisms & personality were amazing and very loving. It's hard to put into words how much he is missed. 🫶

Now that the war is through with me

That there ain't much left of me

but the pain now.
Back in the womb it's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But you can't look forward to reveal now
Look to the time when I could live
Fed through the tube that's stuck in me
Just like a wartime novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this life off
Cut this life off from me
Landmine has taken my sight
Took away my speech
Took away my hearing
Left me with life in hell
Darkness surrounds me
All I can hear and all I see
I can't live, I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Trapped in myself
Landmine has taken, taken my sight
Taken my hearing, taken my eyes
Landmine has left me within life in hell
my body, my home is hell
But I cannot die.
Half the world is gone, just one

Hold my breath as I'm wishing for death

Never knew much about Chris and stumbled across this. I have to say its such a moving and haunting mix of something that really shouldn't work.
Rest easy Chris.
I think Chris was aware of the choice of this text, he described his feelings at that time, it is pure depression and no one realized it was a cry for help with nice and pleasant background music of U2 R.I.P Master
Perhaps the disaster was that he thought he was fine?
Sucks that we won't ever get to see Chris Cornell again. RIP CC
RIP best voice ever along with Layne. sure their chilling together
In this quarantine time, reliving Chris Cornell... This is "One" hell of a masterpiece. 🖤🤘
He is missed by millions. He not only had a great talent.
His mannerisms & personality were amazing and very loving.
It's hard to put into words how much he is missed. 🫶
this is one of the greatest performances I have ever seen, it even means more knowing how much Chris was dealing with depression. RIP Chris, we miss you
The way he say’s God, as a Christian my heart swells with emotion. The Man is a Gift and he did not kill himself.
Chris always makes what ever cover he sings ....his own. I will say both U2 and John Lennon songs ( One and Imagine) are just amazing and beautiful on their own. Chris just makes them so different. Miss you Chris. RIP.
Chris died on the evening of my grandaughters 4th birthday. I met him once in 1997 and spoke with briefly, but it left a mark on my soul. Thank you Chris for all you gave and represented. Much love.
There are so few people who could pull something like this off. Chris' vocals were amazing.
This dude literally saved my life
I will forever miss Chris Cornell. One of the greatest musicians that ever walked the planet.
I went to Iraq 2 times..I wasn't shot, but found I was wounded years later..this song makes my eyes water when he ask God to take him, I think because I remember this request.
Stringing the two together like that is something only Chris could do. RIP Chris. Your talent, humility and creativity will be missed. Thank you for being the voice of my teenage years.
I love his mix of the song from one & the music from another,!I miss him! 💯🎶💔✌️
Chris was feckin brilliant! And so beautiful
I miss this man so much and never even met him but I feel I knew him through his music and it touched my heart as no other. RIP Chris.
He might as well get the credits for this. Such a creative spin on two incredible songs
If anyone ever doubts the genius and unrivaled talent of Chris Cornel, show them this
Chris Cornell… pure genius! I got the chills when he started singing Metallica lyrics to the U2 beat! I miss his unique voice…. Gone way to soon! You’ll never be forgotten Chris!
Greatest male vocalist of all time

I can’t explain how beautiful this song is tbh. Maybe it’s just me but this is just the most beautiful song
Agreed❤️
Sincerity is listening to Chris sing with his mind, heart and soul. How hard could it be to love such a free bird?
Thank you, Chris!! My husband just passed away from ALS this year and I know this was his song! Once he got to hospice it was over pretty quick for him. I think they helped him find the peace he was looking for. I saw on his device after his passing, "No need to prolong this." I hate it but I understand it all at the same time. I miss you, honey! You were my world!
He is in a better place. It is okay to miss him. If you want, you could share happy memories of him here. Or if you want message me and talk about him and his beauty. I would love to help you grieve his loss. Stay Strong.
BTW sorry about my broken English cause it's not my first language..
This man could sing names in the phone book and give me goosebumps. His God given talent will never be replaced or forgotten. Heartbreaking still to me that he's gone, but how blessed are we to have this and many other gems from him. RIP Chris 🖤
I AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY 👍♥️👍
