I did NOT feel like that at ALL
😂😂😂
Like, that it dragged? At all? 😂
What’s your question?
i was so glad it was 60 minutes, felt like it was going to end after like 35 minutes and i was like noooo... not the acolyte ep 4 again, but then we got another 22 minutes or whatever. I loved it.
Are you sure you weren't being distracted by something?
I don't mind the scene where Otto is fired just cause I understand his frustration with everyone around him. The scenes I'm not sure why we have had in both episodes are the ones at Corlys' shipyard. Like they aren't bad but I'm waiting for the point of them. Although, last episode it showed Corlys' grief for Luke, I don't know why we cut to the brothers talking about the upcoming war.
If you’ve not read the source material (and if the show stays true to the source material) you’ll find out pretty soon why they, and a couple of other so far fairly insignificant people, will become very important. They’re laying some groundwork here
I loved it. But I love sitting in this universe. I've waited years to be back here. 😊
Looking at these comments, I’m genuinely astonished at some people’s attention span.
I read the book, so I'm watching each episode with an eye towards "what are they covering this time" which gives me a different perspective on "pointless" scenes... because I know some of them do have a point that will (eventually) pay off (and some won't) I do agree that this episode could have been tightened up a little, but just in little things like shaving half seconds off here and there and such.
I look forward to the big twist that Helaena was actually pointing to a street sign behind her son.
To name him Jaehaerys after Jaehaerys Road, where the famous temple is.
Could not disagree more… what episode did u watch???
I loved this episode, I thought it was one of the best in terms of plot set up and character build up all while sticking relatively loyal to the book for once. They cut the episode count down to 8 so I’m glad they’re packing more into those 8 episodes. I don’t think anyone can convince me to want less of this show.
Are you sure you're not just tired and busy because you have a kid and you don't have that kind of time to spare
But also I'm not want to talk I give up on this show after the first two episodes and I sometimes check in if everyone is saying the episode is great like that driftmark episode
But I mostly get the gist from reaction channels and alt shift x
the only tv shows that have had me going "I can't wait for the next one!" over the last few years are strange new worlds season 1 (less so season 2, even if it was still enjoyable) and that superman cartoon that came out last year. as such....I just haven't watched tv much anymore lol.
Has Abigail Thorn showed up yet?
not yet
Literally the only reason i'm watching
I was deeply invested in this episode. Admittedly I'm someone who read the book, but I was really invested in the characters.
Editing is a skill! Watching your review made me realize that I’ve forgotten most of the episode I watched…two days ago? 🙈
I feel like im having an inverse experience. I started the season in the midnset of, i guess i should continue. But every episode has only got me more excited. The argument with Otto and the king was one of my fav things of the entire show. Otto is oke of my favs in this show and i just loved how the actor played that.
Stick it out 2 episodes please, curious if the midpoint will be something you love or hate
I feel like I was being obtuse for taking until the end of the video to get what Vera said in the comment above the video link. "Drag on", indeed.
Also, while I haven't read F&B in its entirety, I have read the two novellas that were later incorporated into it which serve as the basis for roughly what we've seen and what's to come. And while so far, so (mostly) good, I'm increasingly skeptical about the material's capacity to stretch out into the reportedly planned 4 or 5 seasons, and what you say about how there's just less compelling working parts to go around than there were in GoT sorta pinpoints why.
I wanted more from it, but i absolutely understand where you're coming from. I kind of wish I'd waited until the season was over to watch, so I could avoid the 'ooh look' keeping me watching instead of the story.
awe furry friends in the outro! so adorable!
This was definitely an episode I found a little underwhelming but the scene where Otto is fired as Hand by Aegon was one of the better parts of the episode. The other being the Twins fight at the end.
Engagement for the engagement god!
I'm all on board for the show, but yeah, a lot of this ep felt like filler. Hopefully next week it delivers on more of the goods.
What felt like filler?
You sound like you just had a bad, long day.
The only time I’ve ever disagreed with Vera?! 😮😂 it was maybe my fave episode of the show so far. But you kinda have to have a “love to hate them” attitude about most the characters which ain’t for everyone
Is dragons really this big of a selling point to justify this show? like i said i didnt finish season 1 because i felt like i was just being fed dragons to cover a lackluster story but it could very much not be for me
I admit i did FF a bit. But I get why they're going atmospheric. It's just a bit too much.
TBF i watched the first 3 episodes of season 1 and dropped off. This world just seems to be spinning its wheels idk. not very compelling or engaging. Game of Thrones had so many plot lines that was meaningful. not only the initial Stark family but more players started to fight for your attention
I gave up on this show after season 1 because they changed everyone's actions into mistakes so everyone is just whoopsie daisy-ing into conflict. Alicent 's reason for crowning Aegon being a misunderstanding lost me.
So to hear that Daemon is saying killing Jaehaerys was a mistake just makes me laugh now.
They say a good movie is never long enough, and a bad movie is never too short...
But in this case, I don't think this even counts as a story. The writers seem to be allergic to basic storytelling, they act like they're too cool for character work or beats. This show doesn't have scenes, merely situations for us to passively observe, wherein we are told things about the plot or characters, but there's no tension, no drama. Just... "Btw Alicent and Cole are banging."; "just so you know, Daemon is unhappy with not being able to do stuff." Every scene basically has to reintroduce the characters, because not only is there no consistency in them, they've also failed to make them memorable.
Show's bad 😅
I dont want to be rude but where do you take the confidence from to just declare all of that like you cracked the code. Its fine to dislike stuff but thats a bit much.
You really didnt felt any drama between Rhaenyra and Daemon/ Aegon and Otto/ the small council scene etc.
@@TheEnecca no worries, nothing rude about asking a question, so long as it's asked in good faith!
I think you could probably come up with an answer to your first question on your own if you just followed the thought through, though. It doesn't require any unique amount of confidence for a person to develop their opinion, to share their preference, to explore their own sense of critical analysis! I think it would require a noteworthy LACK of confidence for a person to feel uncomfortable or unsafe in analyzing art from their own perspective, or to share it with others - especially when that art is also a product, a product being released by a big company asking us all for our time, attention, and most of all, money. Art is for engaging with, criticizing and discussing! It serves the human beings who engage with it 😊
Personally, no, I didn't ~feel~ any drama or jeopardy in this episode, or most of the show so far. I could tell that the creators were attempting to communicate that feelings, but it felt to me like they were signifying Drama more than enacting it.
@@spearofhope2you do need confidence to base your critique on absolutely nothing though, which you do have.
@@spearofhope2 omg I think you should check this thing out called “marvel”. My little cousin couldn’t get into House Of The Dragon but he loves marvel movies. Not sure how young you are but you should really give it a go. Won’t be disappointed, lots of fast pace action with all them pew pew sound effects.
@@spearofhope2 I think you should rethink the notion that you're some kind of expert on good television, champ, because you're not.
That's why I watch things on 1.5-2x speed with subtitles most of the time honestly, especially prestige television, I don't need to spend 45 seconds on someone walking in a room to sit down at the table
You have tiktok brainrot.
This is why I gave up on it after episode one of season one
