This episode contained a LOT of drama so I hope you enjoy as I break down all my thoughts on this latest ep!

I will say when alicent said “what they did to my girl” she had me…until you realize later in the episode she is SO FAR disconnected to her children and her hypocrisy.
the best moment for me is the sequence with the look from rhaenys to daemon, daemon to rhaenys and rhaenyra to daemon and the realization on her face, it was pure gold. the acting in this episode was first class from everybody
a little bit of comedy peppered in is always a nice touch

Daemon is like a toddler in this regard. If you can’t hear him, he’s getting into trouble
everytime you speak, i’m like imagining you as the Targaryen therapist bc of your tone and mannerisms 😂 another great recap!!
One of the best lines in the episode for me was Helaena saying “this is for my boy” there was so much grief and pain in that sentence

I can’t believe you actually said Daemon is a good person

I think it was used in the context of the dynamic between Daemon and Rhaenyra, "good person" meaning to each other, not in general, just a hasty wording.
My poor husband had to deal with me shouting at the screen constantly during this episode! I was yelling at Alicent and Criston every time they showed up (even without each other). I have to say I did like Otto for the first time in...ever lol I was cackling at when he just went off on Aegon and Alicent. That man is so tired of the two of them! I bet he wishes (in the way way waaaaaay back of his mind) that he'd just let Rhaenyra take the throne!
Ahhh could we maybe have a “book spoiler” warning separate from the show spoilers ? 😭 I’m okay with the hinting but wasn’t ready for the Jacerys comment 😢

I laughed the entire scene with Otto just drilling into Aegon stupid Cole😂his mannerisms just perfect, makes the show a lot lighter
Spoiler Question if you haven’t read the book………..
Something I’ve been thinking about with Addam is if in the books it is said that the Targaryen are the last know dragon riders and it seems like they are going with Corlys story line (being there father) then how can he be the a dragon rider if Velaryon couldn’t ride dragons. Or was it that they just chose not to. Any way love what you are doing can’t wait to see what else you do with this channel
23:45About the scene with Aegon and Helaena, Tom glynn Carney said that at the moment they understood eachother's pain but couldn't express it.

Otto is getting a lot of props for standing up to Aegon, whose sass was chef's kiss. However, I couldn't help but yell at the TV, saying, "LIE IN THAT BED YOU MADE!".
His biggest mistake, which is also the Lannisters, is never expecting Aegon to retaliate. 🤷♀️
Awesome video! I think Alicent and Crispy deserve each other. Instead of being an actual mother, Alicent just spent her “mothering” time, spewing poison in her kids’ ears by constantly bad mouthing Rhaenrya and her sons. She doesn’t know how to really interact lovingly with her kids and so doesn’t know how to comfort them and thus her kids can’t comfort one another.
WHAT I LIKED👍 :
_Aegon is slaying it again. We really feel his grief(Tom deserves an Emmy)
_Rhaenyra vs Daemon (really good dialogue)
_Otto vs Aegon (good dialogue as well)
_Arryk vs Erryk
_Finally justice for little Jahaerys (even if Daemon is still around)
WHAT I DISLIKED👎:
_Alicole ( I don't understand the point of this "ship" and It adds NOTHING to the plot)
_Rhaenyra refusing to send Jace as a scout but instead, is putting Baela in danger, the same Baela whose dragon is smaller than Jace's
CHARACTER I DISLIKED🤬:
_ Criston Cole (Yeah I am not original :D. Cole was just unbearable and I am team green btw but Book Cole>>>show Cole)
Pretty much agree with all you said but I would add to the character I disliked in this episode: Alicent.
I think she's refusing to send Jace out because he's her heir.
Alicent only brought up the fact that SHE didn't want to go at the council meeting! She didn't say a SINGLE WORD about her daughter!
@@katiekitten36 Fair point but still Baela is Jace's fiance. I don't think that Jace would have approved.
@@LeSage28 besides the loss of Luke and fear for other son, Rhaenyra understands that Jace is vulnerable right now and can't be trusted with such a mission, because he can act following emotions, seeking vengeance, instead of the mind. At the same time, Baela is more calm and assertive with that matter and in that moment of a story.
The scene with Rhaenyra and Mysaria talking was just🤌🏼 I don’t even know what words to use it was just so charged? Maybe is the word? I loved it!

The amount of Otto tiktoks that have come across my FYP is almost alarming😂 him throwing the pin was awesome, I laughed so hard!

to me the shape and feel/atmosphere of the brothel room with Aemond naked and curled up was that of a fetus in a womb. The room is very round, small, and snug; and he's literally in the fetal position. He has to outsource and literally pay for the feelings of maternal safety/comfort that he didn't get from Alicent. Freud would have a field day with Aemond (and Aegon).
I saw a theory that Helena was working on her sons funeral cloak in episode one, which he wears in the funeral procession. Also when she looks up there’s another theory that she can see the ash that will fall in the red keep when dany burns it down 172 years later. Or the coming war that will come
I feel like the writers/producers expected people to actually ship Alicent and Crispy and it’s just regularly being shocked down our throats. I haven’t talked to a single person that doesn’t feel uncomfortable watching their scenes. It’s just not the vibe.
Think that might by what they were going for. Even though you can kind of understand why they’re together, they’re not good together. It’s not romantic at all. They use each other and now it’s gonna turn even more toxic. They’re the worst two people you could through together
Aegon is the big standout of the first two episode. We saw that he tried to be present for his son unlike Viserys who wasn't for him. He became one of my favorites. Tom Glynn Carney is doing a great job💚

Was it just me, or did anyone else's whole body pucker and clench when the funeral cart got stuck 😅 literally me going "oh no no no no no no no NO, they (showrunners) wouldn't do that, right...RIGHT!? Okay they might do that, oh no..."

Idk that Mysaria and Rhaenyra scene was amazing. Rhaenyra was gorgeous in this episode.
I've never heard someone compare Otto Hightower to Kris Jenner but it's SPOT ON! 😂😂
Wasn’t it implied in S1 that Aemond was brought to brothel by Aegon. What I got from that scene was that he went back after for a motherly figure since Alicent was more focused on being Queen than motherly which she showed when she didn’t comfort Aegon. Those are two broken boys. It’s kinda reminds me of the show the Queen and differences between Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana. I didn’t find the scene and woman creepy at all.
I think the greens built their case around the actual child should come before the uncle, rhaenyra before daemon ... but the son before the daughter, that is aegon before rhaenyra. Even going by this logic jaehaera comes before aemond. Its exactly the same case repeating itself. Aegon is now is viserys postion. Wonder what decisions he will take.
Did anyone notice that when Helaena looks at anyone in her family, they avoid looking at her in the eyes except Aegon? That brief moment on the staircase where they face each other, he's the only one that looks at her directly in the eyes even when no words were exchanged. Like when Alicent was speaking to her, whenever Helaena looks at her, Alicent avoids her gaze.
arryk cargyll has too much honor to sleep with the queen …that’s why she had to go for crispy😂😂 and she was attracted to him before the 10 year time jump

I totally agree with your analysis! Also, I would like to share that I feel that Emma's voice, the way it sounds and the emotion they put into it... simply incredible. Rhaenyra and Daemon's dialogue improved a lot because of the voice performance!

the fondness witch which Jace spoke about Laenor absolutely broke my heart. biology aside, Laenor was their father and it's so obvious that Jace adored him and Laenor adored his kids 😭

I'm not certain if a rider can bond with a second dragon… removing Dany from the equation… but the death of Balerion really sparked what would initially lead to the dance. Viscerys did not travel about the kingdom like the Old King & Queen. Diplomacy is extremely important. Rhaenyra went and hid out on Dragonstone and stopped traveling. She removed herself from King's Landing as well. So, she very little relationships established at the time of her father’s death.
All the while, the Faith and the Hightowers was creeping into the very place the The realm’s delight previously held.
The only person who was actually able to call upon ppl (outside of Corlys) is Deamon-and Otto has spent the last 30 years trashing him to anybody who will listen.
Rhaenyra was wrong. It was Ser Otto who didn't trust Deamon. I think he made Rhaenyra his heir because of the guilt from Aemma’s death… and Rhaenyra is an extension of that love. I do not think he would have ever altered the succession.
There are several dances occurring prior to the actual conflict…
Viscerys to Deamon.
Daemon to Rhaenyra
Rhaenyra to Aegon
Aegon to Aemond
Aemond to Daemon
Rhaenyra’s children to Alicent’s children
All I could think of in the Aemond scenes this episode (and in ep3, I apologise for being late to this vid), is that Ewan Mitchell said last season the actress playing Madam Sylvie was his old acting teacher, so the flirting between the characters in 109 was hugely embarrassing for him 😅 Amp that up a hundred and thousand fold in 202 and 203 and I was just cringing for the actors. The intimacy coordinator is legit working overtime on that pairing 😂
Which brings me to my next point, you mentioned Aemond has probably been seeing the madam for years - in 109, Aemond tells Cole that Aegon brought him to that rookery on his 13th name day. When they enquire of the madam about Aegon’s whereabouts, she says to Aemond “how you’ve grown” indicating she hasn’t seen him since he was younger. Certainly he seems to be seeing her regularly since the events of 109, but this hasn’t been carrying on for years and years as Aegon assumed in 203
What I liked the most -Daemon coming out on Caraxes!! Instant chill bumps! In full battle armor. Jeez! I don’t love the guy but boy can he invoke some emotions. What I’m looking forward to the most-Mysaria as Rhaenyra’s Master of Whisperers and seeing that relationship develop. Also, Adam and the other dragon seeds. How much will we get of the dragon claiming process?!! I could watch a full season on the dragon seeds alone! That part of the book has always fascinated me. I guess Nettles is not coming. 😢but there’s so much to love here that I will not complain. Otto-I’m saying this through clenched teeth-I agree with everything he said to Aemon and as diabolical as his marketing strategy is-ingenious. Aegon-genuine sympathy for Aegon is not something I had on my HOTD bingo card. Aemon-put some clothes on and go eat a sandwich! With haste. Alicent-take all that emotion you’re wasting, smacking thirsty ass damn near dehydrated Criston Cole around and divert it to your children please. Helena-they don’t deserve you. Ok! I absolutely love your content and I can’t wait till next week!!

I have hope that we will get more answers to Daemon in the Harrenhall episode when we see what is really going on in his brain. Absolutely no excuses for him, but as a book reader, I cannot help but to give him the benefit of the doubt that his mother's passing had a lot to do with how he has developed as a human (lack of maternal figure etc). BUT I am totally putting the book down, and CANNOT wait for the Harrenhall therapy!
You do such a fantastic job with these! There was only one thing I disagreed with and that is blaming the sex worker for Aemond. I don’t think she had a choice regardless of Aemond’s age. They were princes, I doubt she could turn them away.

TBH, I' m not a fan of Healena bc I havent read the books yet, but what strikes me the most is the fact how unimportant she is to everybody. She is the Queen and gave birth to the heir yet no one guards her bedroom. She needs help and no one even knows what's really going on. She is thought to be weird but ok enough to be wed and reproduce. She is alone, vulnerable and forgotten.
When you said that Haelena does not have anyone close to her it came to my mind how beautiful (though completely unrealistic) it would be for her to hop on Dreamfyre and fly to Dragonstone to meet up with Rhaenyra.

I loved the first episodes and i have to agree with the daemond take. 😢 it’s fun to get to know the characters better! The dialogs and everything, cinematography especially, the sets, costumes all of it - so the daemond thing is tolerable!
10:00 what irritated me the most about them blaming Rhaenyra is how we don't see Otto and Allicent wanting to find who actually did it? Aren't they concerned about who would truly do such a thing? No instead they focus on blaming a person they truly knew was innocent

Great video- i really felt like the whole scene with the twins was so heartwrenching! Especially when Erryk said “forgive me” 😢
Also ALICENT AND COLE! So fed up- especially that last scene, I just feel like they are just such horrendous hypocrites
I kinda have a small critique(if you can call it, more so how I view it) of the way you view how it absolutely isn't Rhae's fault for Blood and Cheese. She placed Daemon close to her, it's her who has power over all these people. She rules over them, and she hastily and emotionally(which is granted as she lost her child) asked for Aemonds head. However, she is the ruler, her commands are absolute and by extension Daemon(the one basically only she vouches for) is her right hand or fist. So it isn't really that she has zero fault, did she want to kill a child, definitely not, by from the perspective of a ruler with huge power, she made a grave mistake that caused Blood and Cheese. This is exactly what you said about Daemon, he sent two assassins in a castle with no thinking, things can go wrong, well Rhaenyra kinda did the same by just saying "I want Aemond Targaryen". I'm happy to discuss if you think I'm wrong though...
