Aventon Aventure. Best bang for the buck sub $2000 fat tire ebike. High quality parts and attention to detail from this company for this entry level price range of ebike with a few little upgrades to boot. This is the one for me.
I haven’t had the pleasure of riding the Aventure, but it looks like Aventon planned to make a better bike at this price point. I have a modified RadRover that has an upgraded motor, controller, and Magura MT5-E brakes, so it is faster, with much better stopping power. On the other hand my wallet is a lot lighter than if I had purchased the Aventure. If you like to tinker there’s quite a lot of aftermarket parts available, but for value I’d pick the Aventure.
2 weeks since taking delivery from a Sacramento area dealer (fully assembled). Very happy. Installed the android app on my phone and unlocked speed cap. This bike blazes and have no problem with 30 mph in 8th gear/PAS 5. It's a big bike, lots of rubber in contact with the road so not a stealthy machine. Range results good so far with daily 10 mi rides leaving the battery between 75 and 80% left.
The pedal assist on this bike is tied to speed. That's why PAS1 is a pain past 10-11 mph. It stops helping at that speed. Once you get used to that, you can just choose PAS based on how fast you want to go and forget about it.
I just bought one yesterday. I have not ridden a dirt bike or bicycle in 30 years. I am 80 years old. The first day I put in 9 miles at an average on the meter of over 30 mph. I did everything on level 3 with some hills. I had a blast. I am ready to meet the next challenge.
Great review, Sam! I’ve had this bike for one week and have over 120 miles on it already. I’m 52 years old and I’m averaging 23/24 mph on long rides. And I easily get it up to 32 mph regularly on PAS 5. I love this bike. I hope Aventon gets the credit they deserve for a great bike at a fairly reasonable price.
@@billyv.7750 my bike was one of the first so that the display came with the speed unlock feature. On later bikes, you need to download the Aventon app and you can unlock it there. Maximum speed is 51 KPH, or about 32 mph. Trust me, the bike will get you that fast, but only on pedal assist. Throttle speed is set to 20 mph.
This is an excellent review! Thank you so much, Sam! I got my Aventon Aventure a month ago. I LOVE IT! I've put 350 miles so far on it. It's honestly a great bike and my first experience with an ebike. I've never owned anything that gets more compliments than this thing. Every time I stop n' lock, somebody makes a comment about how nice it looks. Love it!.
I had a 26" Motobecane fat bike that ate the freewheeler and nobody's willing to fix it. So, I decided to switch to an ebike and had been looking in the $3000 to $5000 range but when I came across the Aventon (which the dealer let me take for a test ride!) I was instantly sold. Where I live in arizona has lots of sandy dirt roads which my Motobecane handled with ease so my ebike search priority was for another fat bike. Everything you say in your video is absolutely true! Effortless climbing, great stopping power, surprising acceleration! Add to the excellent handling characteristics that it floats over sand like it isn't there! I added some goodies like a better seat, front basket and a rear rack with a quick disconnect bag for a total of $2350 out the door! I'm grinning so hard that it hurts!
Hi , I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and why did you take it over the radrover and himiway? And is it as good on hills they say It is?…Thanks!!
I bought one based on this review and I’ve had it now for almost 3 weeks. It’s everything you said it was in the review. It handles hills really well, better than I expected. Would definitely buy it again. Thanks
Check your fork's travel - if it's 65mm that confirms they've swapped out the forks for lesser parts and are now lying on their website about it - and directly to me in support.
@@bernievassallo3336 The reason I bought the Aventure from Aventon came down to a co-worker who has bought a couple bikes from Aventon and had nothing but great things to say about their bikes and customer service. I ride mine regularly and I’ve not been disappointed. Would definitely buy it again. Hope that helps.
@@bernievassallo3336 Yes, I have a couple steep hills that I’ve taken it down a few times and it has not had any problems going back up. It will go back up throttle only, but I like to peddle and for me it feels like I’m hardly working the peddles. It was a concern for me before making the purchase, but I’ve had no issues.
Really nice review! I just bought this bike (but the step through model) and have had it for a few days now. I'm 78, 230 pounds, and haven't ridden a bike in 50 years. I, too, have found Aventon's support lacking. But it looks like a great bike. Oh, I found their assembly documentation & rack instructions lacking, but was able to find some TH-cam videos to help out. Probably the most annoying thing to me is the throttle: they claim smooth control, but I'm finding that there is no acceleration for the first 2/3, and then full acceleration for the final 1/3 of the thumb control. I really wish it were really "smooth" and continuous. Now I've got to look into car mounts.
You did good if you got a full throttle I got half of one and the front brakes have a busted piston ring and its very dangerous to drive my bike at my weight with only a back brake.
@@bernievassallo3336 It's been about a year and a half, so I don't recall all the factors going into my decision. Cost was one. Fat tires for riding over gravel was another, and "step-thru" was a third. Oh, motor power was another one.
@Electric Bike Report Thanks for the wealth of information! You guys do a awesome job with E-bike reviews and this review solidified my purchase of buying the Aventon Aventure! I was in a huge MTB accident last year broke my collarbone, 2 ribs, and fractured my scapula which I was afraid to hop on a MTB again, but this E-bike I see getting the confidence of getting back into riding again! Thanks guys!
Good review. I got my Aventure on June 3. I find the way the motor engages really annoying and sometimes dangerous. On every electric bike I’ve ever ridden, including my Aventon Pace 500, the motor engages after half a turn of the crank or less. On the Aventure the motor slowly engages so if you’re pedaling towards a light and slow down, then it turns green, it takes a good 5-7 pedal strokes before you feel the motor helping. It’s quite annoying and customer service has yet to respond. I’m surprised nobody else has mentioned this!
Are you saying this bike surges with unwanted speed? I’m 65 - overweight and out of shape. Maybe I should buy a rocking chair instead. 😳. Thanks for explaining?
I took my first test ride on it at a local bike shop. I think it took about about 1 peddle from a standing start to feel the motor kick in. From a standing start I'd just use the throttle to get going and then start peddling to avoid that lag off the line.
Ordered one 2 days ago. Before ordering, I tried calling customer support to confirm the model was in stock and would ship the next day. It was probably 3-4 minutes, but someone did pick up and confirm. Unfortunately, the bike didn't ship the next day and its now the weekend. Interestingly, I got a general email from their customer support saying they recognize support has been lacking and they are making efforts to do better. Keeping my fingers crossed.
The best review I've seen on the Aventon Aventure. I purchased this already but this video just solidifies my decision to purchase. I appreciate Sam doing such a great, thorough review.
How has it held up? Are you still happy with your purchase? What is the top speed you were able to achieve? Pedal or throttle for that top speed? Thank you!
Another reviewer who doesn’t mention the best feature that you can get with this bike. You can buy through a dealer and not just online. If you buy online you have to assemble and tune. That’s where a lot of novice people have problems. They think they have it right and when they ride it they make problems because it is not adjusted and tuned correctly. If you buy online and have a warranty issues you have to diagnose and request parts and fix yourself. And after warranty most bike shops including the Aventon dealers don’t work on online purchase bikes. Imagine buying your car and no dealer warranty and no repair garage would work on it.
Your point is mute because aventon don't honor there warranty.. plus I paid a dealer to check my whole bike out they got it in and assembled it.. so I went off from the dealer to vacation with a bike that had bad front brakes. Been using the back brake only from day one and avention is playing hide and seek. Also , none of these bike shops have really been trained to fix a computer bike. One is kind of screwed all the way around. You send your money and hope for the best.
I am a dealer and specialize in ebikes. Not sure what happened to you but Aventon has honeyed every valid warranty claim that we gave submitted since 2019 when I started carrying that line. Things like brake pads And other wear items are not covered under warranty but all the electronics non wear items and mechanical systems have been covered unless it was damaged from an accident or operator caused. Of all the companies I deal with they are one of the best
So stoked about this bike, I miss riding so much. I rode semi-pro back in the '80s, was a bike police officer in the '90s, and haven't been on a bike since 2000. I'm so ready to ride!
you better think again, my bike came with broken front brakes, half of the low speeds on the throttle are missing and the lock out foirk dont work, I filed a claim and two months and nothing from Aventon.
This report encouraged me to make the purchase...especially the hill review! I have around 700 miles racked up on both pavement and dirt. I have biked with others who have a variety of electric bikes and the hill climbing ability with that 750 watt motor just leaves everybody behind...many who reach the top sweating. Btw, overriding top speed to 30mph+ via the app, makes it a VERY fast bike. I really never find myself wanting to go faster and rarely push it to 4 or 5, primarily because my wife went with a different e-bike and I have to slow down to her top performance.. There are simply some hills her bike cant even climb, whereas the Aventure can. So happy to have made this bike choice.
Hi , I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and why did you take it over the radrover and himiway? And is it as good on hills they say It is?…Thanks!!
Fantastic review. This is my first E-bike after a year of research. This one just grabbed me and I was tired of shopping. It is so much fun to hop on this thing and just GO. I'm happy that I chose this one but have a feeling that I will be looking at more expensive, faster options.
@@leeroyglasscock I just recently bought the aventure also, I actually researched the JEEP e-bike and found it to be a great bike but I couldn't get over the price, the one I made was around $8,000! That was after a "rebate" sale they were running at the time so I'm sure that there even more expensive than that. From everything I researched about e-bikes around the $2000-$2500 range the aventon aventure always came in first. More power was the main thing that stood out from everything I looked at, and quality in parts.
Saw the updated challenge review against the Rad Rover, and Himiway and was impressed how the Aventon really held its own. Might be worth a look as my next ebike
@Benign or Design 3k miles on my Aventure My favorite bike ever love it more than my Giant Fathon and my Giant Defy. I ride this thing everywhere gym , beach, supermarket Love it!!!
I bought the Aventure step thru fully assembled a couple months ago and have been very pleased with it. My one gripe is the battery switch, which is total garbage. It's vague and indefinite plus has a couple tiny lights which are impossible to see in daylight and which don't seem to mean anything. How hard is it to make a simple rocker switch? You can buy better at any auto supply store. Other than that, which actually is a big deal since the bike won't function without the switch being on, the bike is well designed and well finished. A great buy.
I've had mine for a week and I'm in love. I want to switch it to tubeless tires but the rims doesn't say they are tubeless ready. Does anybody know about this?
Hello Sir I gotta ask. What bike would you take out of radrover, himiway cruiser and the juiced ripped current or the aventure. I’ve seen all of your reviews and a ton more 😢 I like the aventure even though the Rad is on sale for $1300 bucks. Thanks for any response and God bless you!!
Great video, this was the most thorough review I've seen so far. I bought mine directly from Aventon 3 days after release date and had it in 4 days to Houston. I'm 6'1" and got the large size. It's a great bike and I ride it daily with a huge smile.
Hi , I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and why did you take it over the radrover and himiway? And is it as good on hills they say It is?…Thanks!!
Well thanks to this video my decision has been made!!! I'm very skeptical of any company that pushes so many ads, so I figured this brand was nothing but hype from the brand. Now that I know it's not just hype I'm stoked to know the bike I'm getting is also the one I found to be the most visually appealing to me!! God I've looked at soooo many!!! Thank you for helping me end my search!!
We just got the sands color. It's coming tomorrow. And honestly that's an underrated color. I like the green too, I love colors that remind me of nature, but the sands one just calls to me. Plus it says that the sands ships faster than all the other colors. Not complaining here though. It honestly looks beautiful I'm sure in any color.
What's nice is you can get step through or regular depending on what is comfortable to you. We just got the regular. It just feels more comfortable to me but everyone is different. Good luck with your purchase! If you decide to get one. I wouldn't hesitate!
you will b3e sorry , mine came with faulty front brakes and a throttle with half the lower speeds missing, Aventon has not emailed me back in two months, There is no warranty on this and here is the deal that I learnt of , the parts you might need, they would rather use them to put a bike to gether then sell them to you, even things like getting a spare battery , they will tell you no. And here is the horrible part you cant buy any of the parts anywhere else. Best bet is maybe to get them from a different brand if they work on your bike, its one really big mess this ebike craze because the shops really dont even know how to fix most problems, I hope your bike is right when it comes but my has front brakes that dont work, only half the throttle works and the front fork lock up does not work and never did. and I heard of many people that had this broken piston ring on the front brakes on this thing .
@@bernievassallo3336 I have over 3200 miles in 13 months with a knee replacement this past Feb. It has plenty of power going uphills on throttle alone. I am very happy with the purchase.
Love the review. One question--not sure if others have asked--can you use this as a commuter bike or should you get the aventon level 2? I think this bike just looks like fun to ride.
Great review and I just bought the exact same bike you reviewed and added the Aero Spider bag set up and I am extremely happy… thank you again for affirm this was a good purchase
Awesome Review. Great Job. After months of looking this looks like the best bang for the buck sub 2000 dollar option. Thank for the very informative review it looks like the Aventon Aventure for this guy. Now the hard part, waiting, they are on back order till late June.
Great video, but one of my priorities when purchasing an ebike, it has to have a torque sensor as I want the bike to help my effort. I don't like to just go fast and free spin the chain ring with no effort. Also it seems pedal assist only seems to have a lot more motor on off lag.
I love the video and the bike is exactly what i am looking for in an ebike as i love Fat tire bikes. They are so much fun to ride. Do they have any other options for the fork? Carbon etc? Is tubeless? Does the rear rack block that built in tail light?
My wife and I both have the Adventon Aventure. We are super pleased. I did ride the RadRover and was really not as impressed as I was with our Adventon
Owned mine for 3 weeks and I agree with everything you mentioned in the video. I was a little disappointed that it does not handle the really difficult mountain bike trails that well (just too heavy) but, I love the comfort and confidence this bike gives me everywhere else.
Really informative review, I enjoyed it! I'm new to the e-bike craze and I visited a local SE Michigan bike shop today and they carry this brand and the uber-geek tech said he's ordering this model....so that gave me confidence it's a good SUV bike ;-). Stupid'ish question - what are some recommended hitch mount racks for these beasts (if any); most of the brands I've looked at including the cool Rockymounts says the tray max weight is 60lb. I'm sure they are over engineered and not a problem but still need to validate, better safe than sorry. Any tips would be appreciated.
hope your front brakes and throttle work properly , I bought the sand color step thru and aventon is not helping me , they learnt its not air in my brake line and stopped talking with me. So here I am telling my story ,
Hi Wesley! I wanted to ask how you are liking your aventure. I’m just a bit younger “57” but I’m out of shape and 60 LBS over weight. I wanted to also ask how are you handling the weight 72LBS? Lastly.., do you ever ride it up hills throttle throttle only?… thank you!! Bernie
My husband and I both just got this bike and could not be happier. They are so fun and yes fast. Great breaking and smooth ride. My fenders rattle a little more than expected but I think my husband can fix that. But overall, we can ride them enough. The battery life is really great. The acceleration is awesome. We paid 2199 and you reference sub 2000 often so I do feel like we probably overpaid but we got them from a bike store so, I am assuming that is the difference. Thank you for your review of this bike. I couldn't agree more with you.
Aventon Adventure arrived with a battery that won't turn on after charging according to their instructions. I was pretty careful about following their instructions, including charging the battery. However, the battery simply won't turn on. Initially, support's response was a bit slow but once they had enough pix and videos to verify the problem, they promptly sent me a new replacement battery. Fantastic feature/performance-cost ratio - I couldn't be happier with it.
I just learn Aventon is switching components without warning their buyers about it and it's creating a lot of complaints: drive train, shifter, brakes, at least. Of course, there is a disclaimer on their website, but still, it's disappointing that you receive components that are not the ones you supposedly paid for. What are your thoughts? Does Aventon should make aware of the clients prior to sending the bikes about the components and receive confirmation from the buyers? Thanks!
Had a bad experience with Aventon. I ordered my bike in August with a ship date of 8/30. As of today (9/10) my bike hasn't even been built! Now they are jerking me around with a maybe ship date 0f 9/30! I suppose if you order one now you may get it by Christmas! I cancelled my order because I can't trust them.
@@bobrodachy9759 That stinks Bob. I had nearly the opposite experience. Ordered an Aventon Level Commuter (Large) on 8/27. The shipping label was created just hours later and I got my bike on 9/7. Probably would have been faster, but it didn’t move with UPS on Sunday and Monday (Labor Day). I commuted to work for the first time tonight 9/10. Good luck getting your bike!
OCOL, Cancel if you can. Check out the review of actual owners at True Aventon Aventure Owner's on FB. You might get lucky and get a good ebike, but anything beyond 14days they will charge you a 50% restocking fee, and trust me that it will take at least 14 days to file a complaint and receive the reply email.
I got my Aventure delivered yesterday. First impressions were pretty bad actually, based mostly on how dirty the bike was. The battery tank looked like someone with greasy hands put it in the box. The front fender top bracket was way off center and bent bad (not damage but poor quality) and the arms were stuck in shipping position. Even the screws seemed to be painted fast. Got it all together and the front brake rotor is out of alignment and rubs for half the rotation. Tried twice to submit a support ticket, but their online system kept saying to "try later". No support phone numbers available so I sent in an email with no help yet. I'm sure it will all be good, just kind of bummed about the thing being so dirty and banged up as a first impression.
@@lorimuir1050 just got back from a 33 mile ride - perfect. I did get an email back from aventon after 8 days. They said I need to take it to a bike shop. Nice!!! If I could un-buy it I would. Customer support is important to me and it is non-existent with Aventon.
Hello I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and is it as good as I hear up hills?…lastly why did you take it over the himiway, ripcurrent or radrover?.. thanks!!

In the readout for how much carbon and trees were saved, does it count the carbon/energy used (on the back-end) to produce the motor and bike? I know it’s getting nit-picky, but it should be factored in. I want one of these too!!
Your video even a year old was helpful in explaining this e bike and who it might be intended for. Excellent job. Off topic is the foot wear you sporting a certain kind of bike wear. If so what are they?
Well, Sam great review of the Aventure e-bike. thank you! I just ordered one and I'm excited can't wait to ride. I've done a lot of research try to find that "bang 4 the buck"! My friend purchased one and pointed me in this direction.
It's pretty good, not great. Uphill you need to drop down into your highest gear. Peddle assist is needed. It slow a bit. On flats this bit is awesome. Vary comfortable.
A more featured packed ebike than the Aventure, with better spec's is the Hovsco Alpha Dog. My dealer who used to sell Aventon is migrating away due to all the defects that continue to plague their ebikes. The Alpha Dog has the same smoothed welds, and beautiful aesthetics, but the best part is a battery that is 25% larger than Aventure, AND it has torque sensing, with 2 year warranty. The aventure has been known to 'jump' unexpectedly, or go when you dont want it too, or even have too much of a lag. This is due to the inferior cadence sensing that Aventon uses. Torque sensing has none of those issues, is super smooth, and responds to a rider's pedaling effort. The Alpha Dog is lighter, but can handle a 450 lb payload, versus only 300 lbs for Aventure. If you dont want the battery fit problems, the problems with battery not turning on every time, nor the brake squeal or stuttering problems, or the ragged cadence sensing that varies from bike to bike, give the HOVSCO Alpha dog a try. Also again it has a 2 year warranty.
I just got one in May and rode it just under 600 kilometers with no problems. The only thing I noticed is the front brake lever seems to go all the way to the handle bar. Is that normal.
On page 12 of the user manual it states "Remove motor protector and install the motor protection guard on right side of back wheel". Do you know what the motor protection guard is?
if I ride 200 miles per month...how long would my battery last? one year? 6 months? ans how much is a new battery. I missed that info on the video. thanks.
My Dangar QB X does the same thing with dying with dignity, slowing down smartly to get you home rather than speedy and dying on spot leaving you to laboriously peddle or walk the last half mile.
Great bike. PRO TIP- if you want your bike fast, order direct from Aventon. I placed an order for this bike on the release date from a LBS and still have no update as to when it will arrive. Direct order customers were getting their bikes within a matter of days. At this point, there may be a backlog so expect delays. Sweet bike for sure.
We got medium for the height suggestion im 5 feet 7 1/2 inches to 5 8" about and friend is same. Height recommendation for each frame : ( All made for off road ) Small - 5' Feet 1" - 5' 7" Medium - 5' feet 7" - 5' 11" Large - 5' feet 11 inches - 6' feet 4 inches ALSO you can check Ebike calculator online for height requirement. Its always been medium for my height. Each bike usually says one bike fits most or has a height requirement on each of their sizing! I am also 170-172 cm if you need to convert to cm you can look that up as well
Wow this bike looks brilliant, any idea what cells are used in the battery, just curious, I would love to try one of these on the green lane roads where I live 👌 cool
i ordered one about a week or so ago and im on a preorder wait period but i am so looking forward to using this bike as my daily driver mode of transportation, i havent ridden a bike since i was 10 and got backed over by a minivan, riding my bike was my favorite childhood activity... i am looking forward to it becoming my favorite adult activity 22 years after that accident thanks to this bike! nearly 2k (after taxes and the rear rack ust over 2k) is a lot for a bike but i have high hopes in this lasting me a long time *edit for typo's
Very good review! Never thought of myself as a fat tire guy.. I'm looking for my first e-bike and just skip all those... But this review is giving me second thoughts... Just wish they weren't so dang heavy! Looks like a great bike.
@@ElectricBikeReport I settled on the Ride 1 Up 500. Couldn't be happier. I took a test ride on the Aventon Aventure and found it wasn't for me. Just to big and and heavy.. seemed like overkill to me. The 500 is much lighter, more nimble and actually resembles a bicycle. Plenty of power... Fantastic bike.
the big tires I did not like them either but they are smoother, my front tire does the death wobble when you let the handle bars go, its only two months old and looking down at the front tire while riding the thread goes left to right and I dont jump curbs or anything, I dont even take it on trails, just know if you get one There is no warranty on this bike, its just hot air. having said all that I do love the bike But there is a lot of work to do to it to make it right.
Aventon returned my email every time when they thought there was air in my brake line, after the shop got the bike I made them note the throttle half missing, all the low speeds and the fact the lock out fork does not work and that brak3e probelm, its a piston ring all noted by the bike pros an aventon dealer and once they learnt all this They stopped emailing me back, last email to them from me (why are you avoiding me) so my job now is to tell my story, I love the bike, be nice to have front brakes and not have it shoot off like a bullet because the first position reconized by the throttle is the eight mph mark, but it is whta it is, and I kind of figured it would go this way. Lastly the delay in the throttle and the pedal assist, its getting longer and longer, in pa level five I have to pedal six rotations before the motor comes on , BUT IF YOU LEARN ANYTHING HERE , LEARN THAT THERE IS NO WARRANTY FROM AVENTON, if a dealer throws his hands up Your pretty much F%^& ed
Hello I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and is it as good as I hear up hills?…lastly why did you take it over the himiway, ripcurrent or radrover?.. thanks!!
Relatively speaking, no they aren't too noisy. There is a subtle hum on most. Some are virtually silent. If the motor is obnoxious it's something that would be put on our con list each time. I really like this bike but after reading about the customer service and hard to get replacement parts I stopped short of ordering it. Does anyone have any input on customer service and replacement parts?
I have a $1599 BeeCool Explorer Full Suspension (Front and Rear), 21 Amp Hour Battery, 26' Fat Tire, with aTwist Throttle. Love it! We're looking for Road E-Bikes now for the paved bike trails for the wife and me. Does Aventon offer a twist throttle in lieu of that dumb thumb throttle?
Yep I noticed the delay also. I thot maybe a fat tire bike thing since I've never had a fat tire but my other ebikes you just touch the throttle and your off. Here it feels like there's a lag off the line. Not sure what that's about. I don't like it but the pros outweighed the cons for me at this price and dealer support. Maybe they can upgrade firmware? ??
I wanted to order an Aventon Aventure in the Socal Sand color however I live in Canada. Aventon said they do not ship to Canada and to contact a Canadian retailer. Which I did in fact I contacted 3. The first one said it is not legal in Canada because of the peak wattage. The second one said he wasn't ordering again until April 2022. The third said they did not have an estimate on any kind of delivery but could get me a price so after 2 more emails from me requesting the pricing they still have not answered me. Freight forwarders will charge me approx 600.00 US for forwarding for a bike that I now believe because of the first dealer may not even be allowed across the border. I really liked this bike. I researched all of the bikes available ...which took about 3 weeks and this one was perfect for me. I may order the next runner up - the Rize XP Pro dunno though it's a bit big (Aventon sells a medium size) and the Aventon was way nicer. Just sad now :( Is there anyone from Canada that has managed to get their hands on one? Nice video BTW!
I got that color , that color just went on sale for mothers day weekend and the reason for it is It has major problems, my came with no front brakes and air in the line is not the problem, and the lower speeds one thru eight are missing on the throttle , and the lock out does not work and aventon dont care, I did a formal claim and not heard back from them in two months and at this point not really thinking I will. Shame shame on you aventon. Im going on and telling my story aventon It would be wise of you to send me my parts.
Nice review. What size was this bike.? I know that they come in 3 sizes ( S,M,L). If I would have to guess on your height, I would say that you are about 6'2' - 6'3" in height. Was this a medium size Bike or Large? I am 5'11" and I am debating whether I should just get the large or medium. What do you think?
I hope you get a good one, mine came with bad front brakes and only half the throttle works and aventon is playing hide and seek with me. th-cam.com/video/NNn_xmuiTMk/w-d-xo.html
I'm interested in riding comfort and reach for the handlebars. How tall are you? How is the fit? Everyone talks about the same things (brakes, tires, seat, distance, etc). No one mentions how tall they are and how the bike fits.
Sam is around 6' tall. The riders who took this out range from 5'10" - 6'1". This was a medium frame, which we felt was a good fit amongst the other riders who took the bike out. Aventon offers the Aventure in 3 sizes which should accommodate the following heights: Small 5'1" - 5'7" Medium 5'7" - 5'11" Large 5'11" - 6'4" Reach is 375mm in all frame sizes. Our team was comfortable with that reach as well.
I just bought an Aventure bike but cannot get it in the 28MPH mode. I tried calling aventon, but only got an invitation to email them and have not gotten a reply back. I heard from several comments that Aventon had good support, but I have not seen that. I need to know if I received a defective bike or if I am doing something wrong when trying to get into the PAS mode to get it to go the 28MPH as promised. Thanks to anyone who can help. I guess Aventon won't answer their email, and certainly not their telephone.
1) Turn on bicycle 2) Press and hold the center button on your computer controls for 2 seconds. This will take you to the settings menu. 3) Scroll down to Speed Limit. 4) Adjust speed to 51 km/hr. 5) That’s it! 3)
I'm confused - Can the battery be removed and charged /stored off the Aventon Adventurer model?- When I see integrated I'm not so sure - we are looking at carrying 2 units on our RV - any recommendations for an appropriate carrier would be appreciated as well TIA
For those reading this video well after it was made...yes the battery can be charged/stored independently. It can be removed from the bike (Aventon provides a key). Charging on the bike or remove the battery and charge it wherever you like.
Hey Nathan, I’m 6’1” and that bike we reviewed is a Medium. I typically ride a large but because of the ultra high demand for bikes the medium was what Aventon could send us. Even though it was a tad small, it was still plenty comfortable!
Hi Sam, Have you heard of the Eahora AM200 e-bike? I have three, mine and my two sons also have these bikes. Really liked the looks of these fat tire bikes with suspension front and rear, but they can't get out of there own way. With the throttle they can move out but with peddle assist the bike craps out almost completely going up a hill. If you use the throttle you can start the climb but as soon as you start peddling the electric cuts out almost completely. Trying to get some assistance through Amazon/Eahora but no real support at all. Will be getting rid of them hopefully soon. My wife has the Radrunner and her brother has the Rad 5. There is no comparison, why better. I am really thinking about the Aventon maybe over the Rad 6. I know the Rad has really good customer support, do you know how the Aventon customer support is? Which bike would you go with? Thanks in advance.. Dave....
We haven't ridden the Eahoras yet. Sorry to hear it's not working out though! Just answered on your other comment, but until we get the Rover 6 to try out we can't fairly compare it to the Aventure head-to-head. FWIW, the Aventure has been one of our top bikes this year.
this is a good point, the five hundred Im pretty sure is not a new year for it, the aventure If what I am told is true its the first fat tire bike aventon has put out. This is probably why my brakes in the front are bleeding down to nothing and its not air in the lines, and my throttle is half missing, and the delay in the take off be it throttle or pedal assist Well its just down right dangerous
Best video review I've seen, thank you so much. I've read about PAS does not engage until 5, 6 pedal turns, that is too long, is this true? I have the Aventon 350 and it engages in half a turn, solid bike so I would think the Aventure would behave the same.
E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡ How do you think the Aventure compares to the RadRover and Himiway Cruiser? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
My brother purchased the RadRover a few months ago and is selling it to get the Aventure.
Aventon Aventure. Best bang for the buck sub $2000 fat tire ebike. High quality parts and attention to detail from this company for this entry level price range of ebike with a few little upgrades to boot. This is the one for me.
Aventure seems to be one generation beyond Rad & Himi. Also Aventon has a dealer channel for support.
Doesn't compare at all. Bought a new Aventure, and nothing I do can get to 28MPH.
Hi Tom I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and why did you take it over the radrover and himiway? Thanks!!
Sounds awesome! Welcome back to cycling David!
Thanks for sharing your experience, Joseph. The bike is a blast, and can flat out fly!
How do you get class 3 riding with peddling. Seems that when I get on it with level 5 it limits me to 20 MPH. Is there an update I need to get.
@@billyv.7750 You can unlock the bike through the app on your phone.
Hi Mister I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and why did you take it over the radrover and himiway? Thanks!!
Love it!.
Glad you enjoy it!
Hey Tom, quick question. How long did it take for your bike to arrive? I just ordered one 3 days ago. Haven’t really gotten an update
@@rico.upnorth hey just bought it online yesterday how long did it take
I had a 26" Motobecane fat bike that ate the freewheeler and nobody's willing to fix it.
Hi J I wanted to ask if you hit any steep hills with throttle only? If so how did it do… thanks !!
Hi , I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and why did you take it over the radrover and himiway? Thanks!!
Hi , I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and why did you take it over the radrover and himiway? Thanks!!
Sounds rough! Hope the recovery has gone well at least. Thanks for watching, and enjoy the Aventure!
I already ordered the bike. I hate to think I will get something I can’t control. Thanks Mike. Hope to hear from you!
Thank you for the heads up
@@Queen16333 no he’s saying the opposite, that it takes a little too long to engage the motor from a stop.
I took my first test ride on it at a local bike shop. I think it took about about 1 peddle from a standing start to feel the motor kick in. From a standing start I'd just use the throttle to get going and then start peddling to avoid that lag off the line.
this is SOLID review! i really like:
1. the detailed uphill performance,
2. detailed range test with the detailed dying battery behavior
Thanks, Ismail! Glad you liked it!

Glad you enjoyed it, Brian. You have a lot to look forward to when yours arrives. ✌️

Well said!
Learning isn't hard but I know some just don't want to know how to repair it themselves.
nice to see you all have bikes with front brakes and are very happy,
Your point is mute because aventon don't honor there warranty.. plus I paid a dealer to check my whole bike out they got it in and assembled it.. so I went off from the dealer to vacation with a bike that had bad front brakes.
Well welcome back to riding then, Brian 🙂
you better think again, my bike came with broken front brakes, half of the low speeds on the throttle are missing and the lock out foirk dont work, I filed a claim and two months and nothing from Aventon.
So happy to have made this bike choice.
ordered mine yesterday how is it on curbs?
It's extremely fun and both the step through and the step over are really good and support is great as well
This review sealed the deal. I picked one up a week ago and can’t stop riding it!

Fantastic review. This is my first E-bike after a year of research. This one just grabbed me and I was tired of shopping. It is so much fun to hop on this thing and just GO. I'm happy that I chose this one but have a feeling that I will be looking at more expensive, faster options.
Any suggestions on faster bikes? This bike looks great 🤩

Hi , I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and why did you take it over the radrover and himiway? Thanks!!
Saw the updated challenge review against the Rad Rover, and Himiway and was impressed how the Aventon really held its own. Might be worth a look as my next ebike

Hydraulic brakes, multiple frame sizes, integrated battery, affordably priced accessories - lots to like with the Aventure!
100% agree, it's got a lot going right for it!

It looks dope AF.. I wanted Black.. but I'm really digging that Green..
Great comprehensive review, just ordered one for end of June delivery.

you will b3e sorry , mine came with faulty front brakes and a throttle with half the lower speeds missing, Aventon has not emailed me back in two months, There is no warranty on this and here is the deal that I learnt of , the parts you might need, they would rather use them to put a bike to gether then sell them to you, even things like getting a spare battery , they will tell you no.

My husband and I both just got this bike and could not be happier. They are so fun and yes fast. Great breaking and smooth ride. My fenders rattle a little more than expected but I think my husband can fix that. But overall, we can ride them enough. The battery life is really great. The acceleration is awesome. Great honest review! Ty. Ordered ours right away.
We've tested two of them and both required slow pressing the button. Seems to just be how they built it.
Good video. What was the tire pressure used during the range tests? Thanks.

Do these bikes have full acceleration, as in they will accelerate & ride without having to peddle at all? Thanks 👍
I was wondering how this bike goes downhill? Can you go fast downhill or is it held back by the e-bike’s system / governor?
Your video even a year old was helpful in explaining this e bike and who it might be intended for. Excellent job. Off topic is the foot wear you sporting a certain kind of bike wear. If so what are they?
Great video review!! Have you done any reviews or can you suggest hitch racks for this model and weight bike?
Coming soon! Hollywood Racks has a few models.
Well, Sam great review of the Aventure e-bike. thank you! I just ordered one and I'm excited can't wait to ride. I've done a lot of research try to find that "bang 4 the buck"! My friend purchased one and pointed me in this direction.
Awesome Luke! I hope you enjoy it!
Check your fork when you get it - they advertise a 80mm travel fork but instead send a 65mm fork and lie about how forks work to justify it.
Hi Luke how are you liking your aventure and how is it throttle only up hills ? Any regrets with it being 72LBS?…thanks!
It's pretty good, not great. Uphill you need to drop down into your highest gear. Peddle assist is needed. It slow a bit. On flats this bit is awesome. Vary comfortable.
@@lukelatino407 thanks Luke!!
How readily available are the replacement batteries?
I just got one in May and rode it just under 600 kilometers with no problems. The only thing I noticed is the front brake lever seems to go all the way to the handle bar. Is that normal.
No but it's easy to adjust the throw of your brake handles.
Hello I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and have you done throttle only up hills?… thanks
just got one cannot wait for it to come
On page 12 of the user manual it states "Remove motor protector and install the motor protection guard on right side of back wheel".
How to adjust RPM? I’m just 5’1” the 26” is my scary to test Could you me an idealized for my problems?
Good tip, Chris! It's a new bike that has certainly grabbed the attention of many people. Wouldn't surprise us if inventory dries up fast.
how you liking the bike 1yr later?
Did you go with the medium or large frame size ? What do you think about a medium for more off road style riding?
We got medium for the height suggestion im 5 feet 7 1/2 inches to 5 8" about and friend is same.
Height recommendation for each frame : ( All made for off road )
Small - 5' Feet 1" - 5' 7" Medium - 5' feet 7" - 5' 11" Large - 5' feet 11 inches - 6' feet 4 inches
ALSO you can check Ebike calculator online for height requirement. Its always been medium for my height. Each bike usually says one bike fits most or has a height requirement on each of their sizing! I am also 170-172 cm if you need to convert to cm you can look that up as well
@@IDrawToothpicks hi are you happy with your size choice? I’m 5’8 and thinking about the medium as well… thanks
I just bought this based on your video
I will be praying for you

Hi I wanted to ask how you are liking your aventure and any regrets on the weight 72LBS? I’m looking to use it in the city.,,thank you!
Hi I wanted to ask how you are liking your aventure and any regrets on the weight 72LBS? I’m looking to use it in the city.,,thank you!
Wow this bike looks brilliant, any idea what cells are used in the battery, just curious, I would love to try one of these on the green lane roads where I live 👌 cool
i ordered one about a week or so ago and im on a preorder wait period but i am so looking forward to using this bike as my daily driver mode of transportation, i havent ridden a bike since i was 10 and got backed over by a minivan, riding my bike was my favorite childhood activity... i am looking forward to it becoming my favorite adult activity 22 years after that accident thanks to this bike! nearly 2k (after taxes and the rear rack ust over 2k) is a lot for a bike but i have high hopes in this lasting me a long time
*edit for typo's
Happy to hear you'll be able to ride again. This bike seems built to last to us, and we think you'll enjoy it.
how do you like the bike 1yr later?
How does it fit 6'4" rider. Do handle\can be elevated?
Very good review! Never thought of myself as a fat tire guy.. I'm looking for my first e-bike and just skip all those... But this review is giving me second thoughts... Just wish they weren't so dang heavy! Looks like a great bike.
Most of our staff were skeptical till riding their first fat bike. There is plenty to like about them though! Even if they are on the heavy side.
Got mine on Monday and it’s a blast to ride!
Have fun with it, James 🙂
Does the engine engage really quickly and lurch or is it smooth?
Hello I wanted to ask how you like your aventure and is it as good as I hear up hills?…lastly why did you take it over the himiway, ripcurrent or radrover?.. thanks!!
7 speed set-up? The shifter indicator says 8...
Awesome review! Thank you!
🚴 Question~ Can the Adventure come in 3” tires instead of 4” ?
Thank you!
It only sells with 4"
Just bought one. Love it and your review!
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Lawrence… how are you liking your aventure and how is it throttle only up hills?… thanks!!
@Electric Bike Report Are e-bikes noisy when the motor is engaged? I'm new to them, but love the idea.
Relatively speaking, no they aren't too noisy. There is a subtle hum on most. Some are virtually silent. If the motor is obnoxious it's something that would be put on our con list each time.
If you're new to e-bikes, welcome! Visit our website for a get started guide that covers most of the basics and hit us with any other questions ✌️
How is this bike going uphill on trails? It looks nearly impossible or is the motor powerful enough? Is that even what this is meant for?
I really like this bike but after reading about the customer service and hard to get replacement parts I stopped short of ordering it. Does anyone have any input on customer service and replacement parts?
I have a $1599 BeeCool Explorer Full Suspension (Front and Rear), 21 Amp Hour Battery, 26' Fat Tire, with aTwist Throttle. Love it!
We're looking for Road E-Bikes now for the paved bike trails for the wife and me.
Does Aventon offer a twist throttle in lieu of that dumb thumb throttle?
Inciteful and very in depth review of this Aventure model...
Thank, Major!
It's sad , they are only answering people with good reviews...etc
I got that color , that color just went on sale for mothers day weekend and the reason for it is It has major problems, my came with no front brakes and air in the line is not the problem, and the lower speeds one thru eight are missing on the throttle , and the lock out does not work and aventon dont care, I did a formal claim and not heard back from them in two months and at this point not really thinking I will. Shame shame on you aventon. Im going on and telling my story aventon It would be wise of you to send me my parts.
I'm very close to purchasing an Ebike. I'm torn between the aventure or a 1000w mid drive
Hi King… did you go with the aventure
Trees you’ve saved?
Nice review. What size was this bike.? I know that they come in 3 sizes ( S,M,L). If I would have to guess on your height, I would say that you are about 6'2' - 6'3" in height. Was this a medium size Bike or Large? I am 5'11" and I am debating whether I should just get the large or medium. What do you think?
It was medium, the majority of testers were 6' or taller. Large would have been nice, but we were able to make do on the M.
This video made my decision for me... Being delivered Monday!
Me too. My SoCal color Aventure will be here Tuesday…..
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy it!
I hope you get a good one, mine came with bad front brakes and only half the throttle works and aventon is playing hide and seek with me. th-cam.com/video/NNn_xmuiTMk/w-d-xo.html
Awesome review!
Aventon offers the Aventure in 3 sizes which should accommodate the following heights:
Small 5'1" - 5'7"
Medium 5'7" - 5'11"
Large 5'11" - 6'4"
Reach is 375mm in all frame sizes.
1) Turn on bicycle
2) Press and hold the center button on your computer controls for 2 seconds. This will take you to the settings menu.
3) Scroll down to Speed Limit.
4) Adjust speed to 51 km/hr.
5) That’s it!

@@waynebersch9150 Thank you very much. I sure was frustrated. Aventon support really sucks. Sure glad you read my post. Thanks again.
You are welcome. One of the TH-cam review videos demonstrated the steps to unlock it. That’s how I figured it out!
@@waynebersch9150 OK, I did what you suggested and still cannot get the bike to run over 20 MPH. Any further suggestions?
The throttle will only go up to 20mph. Pedal assist Level 5 will go up to 28 mph.
I am 5'5" 130lbs. The standover can be up to 31". Should I get a small or medium.
small,
Curious, what was the reviewer’s height and frame size in this video?
Do the dealers charge to put the bike together and tune it, if you buy from them
Get a pace 500 that thing is a beast I’ve gone 32 miles on it steady fast and handles my cargo perfectly
this is a good point, the five hundred Im pretty sure is not a new year for it, the aventure If what I am told is true its the first fat tire bike aventon has put out.
No that isn't the case. It engages within 1 full pedal turn or less.
How would this be on a beach? Packed sand along the water specifically
I just ordered it! Great review thank you!
Have fun!
Good luck when you need support
Wait, wait,wait......
How do you up the power from the 20mph to the 28mph? Do you need a App?
