Its the extreme pressures that are brought upon when you up your horsepower big time. It happens to any car that wants to triple their horsepower.
Jeremy P I'm pretty sure that cooling system pressure remains in the same 18-20psi range no matter the horsepower (unless influenced by a faulty head gasket).
As an example, the Audi R8 reservoir cap vents at 23 - 28psi (granted, only 316HP for the CNDA engine I just looked up).
I think in this case, it was a deteriorated coolant hose.

Head gasket is dead... not a hose you can add up all the hp of the world and your psi in your coolan did not change... if you do the job by yourself 2-300 $ box solve the probleme

4G64 and 4G63/T are NOT economy cars. Have you seen the coolant jacket in the block?
With no modifications to the block, it's taken 50-70 PSI without cracking. Try that in a B or even K series.

thank you sir it isnt oil bc the spray on the windshield wasnt oil it was coolant which is why it was steam and not a splatter of oil and no oil was spraying anywhere either
Yea its no big deal. turbo coolant hose just decided to burst. My ARP head studs were slowly starting to stretch at 33PSI that im running the car at. I replaced the ARP from standards to L19s after this happened and no issues ;)

its not sparks its a flame from unburnt fuel in the exhaust bc racecars tend to run rich so left over fuel in the exhaust ignites its also bc alot of those cars have ignition cut

Oh man if you haven't experienced real 500hp in person the first time is like the most exhillerating experience almost makes you wanna puke at first :) like when I got my newest car I first punched on it and got instant butterflies in my stomach.

whiteynator yeah thats true i own a 95 m3 right now about 300hp but I've driven in some pretty fast cars. I've got a video I'm going to upload soon of me ripping a mopar '10 challenger. even 400 horsepower is a ton in realistic terms.

***** all manual car's are parked in neutral regardless of having remote start. even without a remote start he would be parking with it in neutral and the e brake pulled... it's not really trust in the e brake but, more so trust in the manufacture making a reliable none malfunctioning e brake. there isn't a "park" gear in manual lol

+PantherP74 really, why not, I always leave my manual in neutral. My e brake is reliable and if the brake fluid is low the red light comes on. Unless you are parked on a hill, neutral with e brake is fine
I'm pretty certain your ebrake is not hydraulical, but mechanical. Also, my ebrake (and so many others) is just as reliable as yours. However, it's a second security and also the chance of losing your car and risking others lives and property because of you forgetting either one is much lower. Just agree, will you.

1960gambit it's easy to make a 2jz 600 whp just on 15 psi, and I've seen tons of imports beat muscle cars, and I'm starting to notice that most v8s are swapping to dohc, which imports have always had and make tons of power with, and you can not disagree that imports don't make more hp out of smaller displacement, 2.0l rotary engine making 800 whp while yours is a 5.0l or 6.0l making 800 ,I love both imports and muscle cars, but I hate people like you who hate on other people's car when one tiny thing go wrong like a coolent hose popping off

This is why you buy a V8, kids. They make more power, WAY more torque, and you don't need to worry about your coolant line blowing, because you don't need a turbo to make 500hp. In fact, my naturally aspirated (no turbo, no supercharger) 1973 Plymouth Duster, with a 340ci V8 makes over 700hp at the wheels.
Cool story bro. But I would rather own a 500 HP "unreliable" EVO that can take on corners at 130mph than to have useless 700 HP at rear wheels in a car that weights twice my car. I spin all four wheels with 500hp at wheels. Im sorry but this car, which is Lighter, AWD , and more agile, beats a 700 HP RWD car in every category but on a dyno making numbers. Which to me, mean nothing ;)

chi mpo I also own a VR-4. In fact, that IS my VR-4. Which, incase you hadn't noticed, isn't a 4 cylinder. It's a Twinned V6. I think 4 cylinder engines are good for nothing, except being in an economy car.
I think 3000gt's are badass, well the vr-4 anyway, I know they are twin v-6 but the 4g63 is a beast of an engine, the best one Mitsubishi ever made... in my opinion
