THE THREE DOCTORS PROJECT!
A collaboration between HardWire Productions (Chris Adams) and NeonVisual (Xander David-Hugh) to create the ultimate Doctor Who intro sequence just in time (no pun intended) for the 50th Anniversary on a budget of zero with just two home PC's! The goal was simple -- A cinematic HD title sequence with action, abstraction and homage to previous incarnations produced by the BBC. We have been fortunate in that the BBC have picked up on the project who will be running a video report on the BBC News website (tech section) on the 6th November -- Many thanks to Mr Neil Bowdler and Leo Kelion for their support and kind words!
While Chris was hard at work doing what he does best, Xander David-Hugh of NeonVisual set out to build an immersive animation sequence full of twists, turns and action whilst still being distinctly "Who" -- As an 80's kid it's been heavily influenced by the tone of more classic Who but brining it straight into 2013. Software used for the visuals includes Lightwave 11.5, After Effects CS6, Hitvid, Photoshop and a few misc apps. I have only around two years' self-taught experience in 3D, so sure anyone can do the same if they work at it.

REQUESTS FOR CUSTOM INTRO SEQUENCES
I do get many, but unfortunately can't provide free work as I simply do not have enough hours in the day! I started off with zero experience in VFX 18 months ago, so I'm sure anyone can achieve the same with a bit of persistence :)

I love the Tardis' stressed out noises at 0:34. Like she *really* doesn't want to be fighting in the time war but she will out of loyalty to the Doctor.
I love this because it characterises the Tardis. We usually get "ooh blue space box" but she is truly The Doctor's most loyal companion.
You mean 0:33 yet I agree. She is the most loyal companion that the Doctor had throughout his lifetimes. I wish I had a companion or a friend/partner who was this loyal and trustworthy in my life

Quite frankly, the fact that the BBC are only doing a report on the news about your work and not hiring you is a testament to their weakness. This deserves far more attention that what they are offering.
Regardless of that, well done to you. This is epic, in every sense that the word itself allows for.
The people designed the Capaldi's intro have nothing, this guy however, on his own, is the God of making Who Intros.
the original capaldi intro before they customized it was intristing but this guy could most likely do intros for the future....

The actual opening for the 50th was just lazy really. Some combination of the original paired with this would be great.
The music is great because it captures the oldschool style but has the extensions of the newer openings.
What about their budget to make the 50th Opening. Ever thought of that?

This is much better and more appropriate than the opening that was used in the episode.

Stunning Visuals with short sightedness from the BBC not to use this fresh and dynamic artist's skill that capture Doctor Who epically in these titles. When your work is better than what they produce themselves it makes you wonder why they don't fall over their selves to employ you. This is basically a Gold Class CV that has been glimpsed and ignored.
Once again, your work is fantastic and mesmerising.

I don't even know where to begin on the awesomeness of this intro. Hardwire produced absolutely STUNNING music, and NeonVisual created an amazing intro that perfectly harmonises with the music... this is an old video, but I've just seen it, and it's GORGEOUS.
Back then I thought it's offical opening, but this actually much better than offical openings.

The shot of the TARDIS flying to gallifrey looks a little like the scene in the end of time when gallifrey was above the earth
I have no words.... This is a fantastic intro to this episode I’m even questioning how you did it!!! The only problem I have with it is that if it was going to be shown at the beginning of the episode then it would spoil quite a lot. Like John Hurt and David Tennant being in the episode or even Gallifrey being involved. That aside it’s still awesome

Just to update everyone, the BBC piece is complete, but it's now not going live on the BBC Website until Thursday, so 24 hours later than planned. Should be a good one, a couple of extra CGI workflow animations might be in there too, but we will all have to wait to find out!
