I have to say, that intro is INSANE! 🔥

I was there! I had tears in my eyes the entire time
I absolutely need this version to appear in the show in full, the Doctor’s Theme being used for every Doctor from 9-14 in some capacity is one of my favourite things in the whole show, I get chills whenever the motif reappears
When was it used for 11 and 13? Not a criticism just curious as i feel the same as you but i don’t recall 11 and 13 making me feel as though ive missed out
@@joshc140it was used for 13 when she was newly regenerated, her first appearance in twice upon a time
@@joshc140a good man goes to war
@@patrickchoque7720 ah yes of course!
@@JackHardman i must say i don’t remember that, I’ll have to do a rewatch
20 years in one transition. Murray you mad man! Need to see Eccleston back for this theme alone
I would like to see Eccleston return. Perhaps even make him showrunner.
@@CameronKiessersomeone with no show running experience, a long term distain for the show, just because he played the doctor for 12 months???
Not while RTD is in the chair I'm afraid, but that would be surely, most definitely, absolutely... fantastic!
@@EllisGeorgeComposer He has way more experience by now, plus I think he would be fantastic just winging it. lol
@@CameronKiesser experience and responsibility of running a multi episodic television show?
For the 2006 concert and the 2008 prom, RTD started both with "The Doctor's Theme" and I did wonder whether he'd do it again for the 2024 prom. Alas, when I read the programme and saw "Fifteen" being the opening piece I thought those days were gone. Then I heard this and I think everyone in the Royal Albert Hall simultaneously got either chills or goosebumps!
I like how they combined both 9 and 15s themes wish they could do that in the show more often
Actually I think it's 14th and 15th themes but yeah thats clever to do that
No its 9 theme, u haven't been around for very long if u think its tennants@gaetanungarssympa8368
@@gaetanungarssympa8368it’s the doctors theme and fifteens theme
yes, the first theme works so well as an overall theme for the modern doctor
@gaetanungarssympa8368 14 didn't really have a theme he just used the doctors main theme
The OST needs an official release just for this piece alone. Absolutely magnificent!
I love how this score communicates that 15 just genuinely has a blast being the Doctor
We shouldn’t limit The Doctor’s Theme to just “9 & 10’s Themes”. 11, 12 and 14 all had uses of this theme alongside their own individual ones. It should just be the theme of every Doctor with their own stuff added just like here.
It also played at the end of Twice Upon a Time after the 12 -> 13 regeneration for the 13th doctor
@@RoyaleNoir And also for 15 when he defeats Sutekh (granted it's the Series 4 version which was part of Never Tell Me The Rules, but I'll take it)
This was like a dream come true to hear live and being able to see RTD and Moffat vibe along at the same time, holy crap what a night!
When it exploded into 15’s theme I had chills run all up my body! I did weep a bit as well… god I would do anything to relive seeing this live ❤❤
This perfectly encapsulates Russell’s work on the show from his first era to now
With RTD coming back, have 9’s theme almost feeling like we are celebrating what’s come before … then 15! Embracing the future!
Please, please PLEASE let the soundtrack be announced soon! 🤩
along with the long awaited series 10 soundtrack please 💀
Fantastic ham cheese tostie pumpkin latte
I never felt so much chills in my life until I heard the start! Literally goosebumps hearing it Live!!!
Honestly though 😍
The transition was so seamless and this whole section was just the perfect start to an amazing evening
Yeah, the intro is going to play at my funeral for sure
Can't believe I got to hear this live, what an opener!
there was some 60’s cyberman music vibes mixed with the ending of A Day in the Life by The Beatles in that transition
loved every second of it
Providing us once more 🔥🙏
@@PapaLuge Stay Tuned Today 👀🎶
A brilliant mix of the themes of the 9th and 15th doctor’s. Putting the old with the new.
PERFECT🔥
That transition from the Doctor's theme to Fifteen's theme was.....creepy as fuck???
I don't like that. It was better when The Doctor's theme was it's own thing
I love it. Make me imagine somone trapped, about to be killed by monsters, then BOOM the doctors here to save you
@@titularhero yup but it also makes me think of the worse side of the Doctor
It might be me but I always interpret that aspect of the doctor’s past incarnation being trap in this psychological torment before being broken freed by the 15th Doctor. Almost like all the darkness had been shed away and come emergence is this energetic man with a renewed sense of optimism again
I know we've not heard "The Doctor's Theme" used for Ncuti 'YET' but I'm treating this concert performance as sufficient. Meaning it's been used for every single New Who Doctor!
i love this
Murray Gold is GOD of Music.
PERFECT
Murray gold is a genius
I, um... I cried.
The Doctor's Theme + Fifteen ❤❤
We have to admit it. This is probably the MOST VARIED AND DYNAMIC theme of any Doctor
Nine basically doesn't have one, since "Doctor's Theme" became with time, well, universally that, the Doctor's Theme no matter who had the role.
Ten and Fourteen have "Doctor Forever", which has its own charm, but it's also very short.
Eleven and Twelve have repetitive, but catchy themes
Thirteen has the same case than Ten: notable, but short theme
And Fifteen is another case. His theme has a beginning, development and ending, just like if it tries to tell you a fantastic story, where all three parts with their own sparks, which somehow mix-up at some point. It's chaotic, wild, and very happy. Worth words to describe the 15th Doctor.
what a boy
i dig the hint of the 10th doctorss theme with the 15th
The Doctors theme is such an ingrained part of the franchise and I'm so grateful to have it back in the show after akinola did away with all of Murray Golds music
Cool
devil hand sign
Where did you get this from?
where the hell was this in the new series?
It’s a suite / medley, it’s unlikely that any edit would accommodate for 5 mins of music progressing at its own pace rather than that of the scene!
This was yesterday's BBC Proms Arrangement
It played a bunch
We heard bits of it at the end of The Giggle, the start of Boom, the end of Dot and Bubble I think had some of it. It was just placed throughout it.
@@MaccamatBux Yeh i know, I was meaning the 9th/10th doctor soprano bit at the start
Hero music for someone sacked
Didnt murray gold quit doctor who after twice upon a time?
He came back
Gosh, you're a bit behind 😂
Where the fuck have u been
Yes but our lord and saviour returned! and his music is currently outshining RTD's writing 🤣🤣
@@thelivingbarfpoo2363 I havent watched doctor who since chibnall's first season, just lost interest in the show
was it just me who felt this transition was a bit messy? I guess it had to be as the two songs are so different
I thought it was perfect imo
I'm very conflicted about this.
