  • In Episode 1 of SYIL X7 Basics, I talk about 3-Phase Power, how to power up the mill, and how to verify that you have properly wired the SYIL for 3-Phase Power.
**Filmed in March of 2022 but not published until November, about 8 months later, for reasons of hypocrisy as I had never used the mill yet. **
This is the first video in a series that I plan on making. This series will cover basic concepts and operations on the SYIL X7 using the Siemens 808D Advanced controller. While these subjects are basic, they were concerns I personally had that prevented me from easily advancing in my CNC journey.

I have a X7 that has been sitting idle since it was delivered a year ago. I look forward to the future episodes for when I get my act together and get it fired up. Luckily I have 400V 3-phase so at least getting powr to it is easy.

That's great. Running the Syil has definitely been a good experience, but I certainly took my time to start cutting chips. Thanks for tuning in, and good luck with your own machine.

Let me know if you ever want to sell it.

thanks for sharing. I am looking to add a machine like this in my garage. How much extra did you have to pay for the phase converter?

I paid $1800 for the American Rotary Model AD15. (April 2020)
I have the floor model. In retrospect, I wish I had the wall mounted unit for easier maintenance.
